“Good morning,” I sign to her as I disengage from her embrace. “How is your eye?” I enquire.
Last night, when serving dinner to the Alpha and his family, Melina inadvertently spilt wine on the table. Jaxton insisted on an apology, and when Melina remained silent, he became enraged and struck her in the face with a wine bottle.
I discovered Melina tending to her injured eye in the kitchen sink, as many omegas disregarded her pleas. Not one wolf exhibited the courtesy to assist her.
“It is acceptable,” she gestures with a smile.
I am aware that I should not trust her and cautiously remove her eye patch to verify the truth. Beneath the gauze, I find smooth, healed skin, and Melina gazes at me with a victorious sneer.
“I informed you,” she gestures, erupting into muted laughter as I exasperatedly roll my eyes at her.
“I informed you,” I jest, eliciting further laughter from her, “Indeed, indeed. Regardless, proceed to shower.”
She chuckles once again and searches her room, gathering new clothing and towels. Several minutes later, she emerges from the shower wearing a t-shirt and trousers, her greying hair still slightly moist.
We proceed to the kitchen where Melina makes a modest breakfast while I assemble sandwiches for our duties at the Pack House. Omegas were prohibited from consuming any food from the Alpha’s residence.
At the Pack house, Melina enters the kitchen to prepare breakfast for the Alpha and his team, while I proceed to the shed to gather supplies. I am renovating Luna Nellie’s home office, and after a week of repairs, I am finally set to paint today. I am eager to complete the task; I detest being in this house, particularly with Luna Nellie around, as she induces discomfort.
Gathering paint, tape, pans, and rollers, I start my duty, clearing my mind as I apply the brush to the wall. The labour is monotonous, precisely what I want following the distressing nightmare I experienced this morning.
The atmosphere rapidly gets oppressive, prompting me to remove my shirt to absorb the perspiration cascading down my forehead.
“Would you care for a beverage?””A sexy voice enquires from behind me. “You have been labouring diligently…”
The hairs on the nape of my neck bristle, and my body becomes rigid.
“There is no reason to feel anxious, dear,” Luna Nellie laughs. “I do not bite.”
I swallow hard, setting down the paintbrush and turning to confront her. Luna Nellie is an attractive woman with short blonde hair and deep blue eyes. She dons a scarlet dress that is too short for her stature, complemented by black stiletto heels.
I kneel before Luna as she enters the room, holding an ice-cold Coke.
“Here, handsome,” she coos, uncapping the beverage and placing it in my palm.
I sensed my wolf, Jimmy, growing agitated, which unsettled me. Our connection was strained, so I recognised that something was off the moment he chose to assert his presence.
Luna Nellie’s fingers hover over mine, and as I withdraw my hand, I accidentally drop the drink on my naked b****t.
“My apologies…” She chuckles, grasping my shirt and pushing it against my damp flesh. “Allow me to assist you with that.”
Every cell in my body urges me to go, to distance myself from her, yet my legs remain immobile. Furthermore, she was Luna, and the last thing I desired was to show her disrespect.
I strive to remain completely motionless as she dries me, standing on her toes to access my collarbone. Abruptly, her lips collide with mine, her tongue invading my mouth. It takes me a moment to regain composure, but I ultimately succeed in pushing her away, apprehensive that Jaxton, or worse, my father, might enter and misconstrue the scenario.
She laughs and leaps towards me once more, encircling my neck with her arms. “Oh, come on, Jadi.” “You cannot deny that you have desired me all week,” she smirks, pushing her lips against mine once again. “We can be expedient,” she says, one of her hands already attempting to zipper my trousers. “My husband will not mind.” He consistently does this to me!
Appalled, I seize her by the hands and propel her into the wall, pink paint tarnishing her clothing.
Oh gods, I am doomed, I think to myself, edging closer to the door. I am utterly doomed!
She removes paint off her clothes, scrutinising me with her icy blue eyes.
“You will come to regret this!”She growls as I exit the room.
“You will lament this decision!”She growls as I flee the room, glancing back to ascertain whether Luna Nellie is after me. “Do you hear me?” You will incur a cost!
