A Betrayed Luna – Chapter 137

Dispose

Zen clears his throat to insist that I finalise the denial as Dr. Rayna enters, holding a clipboard.

“Beta Zen, may I speak with you?” I would like to briefly review her list of drugs with you. “These are pharmaceuticals intended for human use, and we do not stock them here; therefore, you will need to travel into town to procure them,” she elucidates, regarding both of us with suspicion.

Zen places his car keys on the nightstand and assures me he will return promptly to escort me home before exiting the room with Dr. Rayna.

Upon hearing the door click shut, I spring from bed and rummage through the gym bag, discovering a change of clothes and my money. I hastily dress, seizing Zen’s car keys and thrusting them into my trousers pocket.

With the bag slung over my shoulder and my hoodie donned, I discreetly exit my room, proceeding down the corridor with deliberate calmness to avoid arousing suspicion. No one attempts to impede me or poses any enquiries as I exit the pack clinic and into Beta Zen’s vehicle.

I discover Zen’s wallet with cash and a credit card in the glove compartment, along by a silver firearm. Concealing the weapon in my gym bag, I exit the pack clinic, my wolf continuing to whimper in agony.

Without a specific objective, I traverse the road towards the horizon, resolute in my decision to never return.

Zen (Aldo’s Beta)

Casper perceived the wolf within Nina upon her arrival, sensing his other half concealed just beneath her exterior. No one else seems to perceive it, since I have not been notified of any alterations to the Luna.

You dismissed her…my wolf, Casper, whines. What was the reason behind her rejection? We have endured a prolonged wait.

She is the Luna, Cas, I exhale. She cannot be our companion.

However, Alpha does not want to retain her for an extended period…he contends, his tail drooping between his legs. What prevents us from having her?

I am uncertain how to commence elucidating why Nina would not be an appropriate partner for us. She is enamoured with Aldo, despite his lack of reciprocation. Secondly, Nina is an individual pursuing authority. Our Beta position would never fulfil her, and her affection would swiftly diminish.

While Dr. Rayna elucidates the medications required for Nina and the physical therapy protocol she recommends for Luna, a nurse enters carrying a file. Dr. Rayna conducts a cursory examination of them when her complexion abruptly drains of colour.

What is it?” I enquire, unable to suppress my apprehension.”

“Whatever the Luna did with those rogues has entirely restored her body,” Dr. Rayna elucidates while reviewing the notes once more. “I conducted a comprehensive evaluation of her, which included a pregnancy test and…”

Her voice diminishes as she presents me with the file containing Nina’s test results. On the initial page, the term PREGNANT is emphasised and rendered in bold at the top, my beast expressing fury against me.

She is expecting a child. He snarls. You dismissed her while she is pregnant with a puppy!

Disregarding my wolf’s outcry, I perused the page again, wishing it were a mistake, yet the sentences remained unchanged. Nina is indeed pregnant, and I may have inadvertently compromised her health.

The components gradually coalesce, allowing me to comprehend the entirety.

Nina endured a transformation, the venom rejuvenating her uterus, and at the subsequent full moon, her wolf will fully emerge. The sole remaining inquiry is whether Aldo is the father of her child.

“The Luna likely attempted to maneuver,” Dr. Rayna muses contemplatively. “That is the sole rationale I could conceive regarding the healing of her uterus.” “However, I did not observe a bite mark corresponding to the infection,” she reflects.

“That is the least of our concerns,” I exhale. “We must currently notify the Alpha that Luna Nina is expecting his heir.”

Dr. Rayna lifts an eyebrow in amusement at me, but I disregard it. It must be Aldo’s. Perhaps he will cease eliminating members of the pack.

“I will notify the Alpha,” I state, concluding the file and retrieving it. “I appreciate your assistance, Doctor.”

I prepare myself as I approach Nina’s room, pausing outside briefly to collect my thoughts. Casper growls at me, insisting that I retract my denial, but I am fully aware that it is utterly impossible. A small life develops within her, while my companion is committed to another. This rejection is advantageous.

Moreover, she is enamoured with Aldo.

Upon steadying my trembling hands, I opened the door to see the room entirely vacant, with Nina’s belongings and my car keys absent. Casper almost becomes unruly as we seek her scent and trace it to the parking lot, where my car is absent.

I hurry back to the Pack house, thinking she has grown weary of waiting for me and has returned home independently. Regrettably, she is absent from the house, with the omegas all shaking their heads in response to my inquiry about her return.

Overwhelmed by fright, I entered Aldo’s office abruptly, my Alpha casting a disapproving glare at my unannounced intrusion.

“Zen, you must possess a valid justification for intruding-”

“Nessa has departed,” I exclaim, striving to regain my breath. “She confiscated my car keys and my vehicle.”

“What is your inquiry?” Aldo nonchalantly shrugs. “Simply monitor her phone or the vehicle’s GPS.” Issue resolved.

“Sir, she is expecting,” I exclaimed, Aldo’s indifferent expression transforming into one of ire.

“What is she?” “He retorts sharply.”

“Expectant, Sir.” She is expecting our next child -”

Before I can complete my sentence, I am forcefully thrust against the wall, Aldo encircling my throat with his hands and obstructing my breathing.

“Braylon is my sole heir,” he growls, his blue eyes transforming to green as Cain asserts control. “Who else is aware of this?” “he insists.”

“Do-document.” “Only the document,” I manage to gasp.

“Excellent,” Cain smirks, tightening his grip. “You should maintain it in that manner.” Return Nina home and eliminate that puppy.

“However, sir—”

He strikes my head once again, causing small stars to obscure my eyesight.

“DISPOSE OF IT!” He bellows, my wolf lamenting in anguish at the prospect of injuring his mate.
