He inhaled deeply, savouring her delightful fragrance, then compelled himself to rise and exit her bed, taking care not to disturb her. He and Mason left her room, where Oliver leaned against the wall and remarked, ‘No one will enter or exit, Alpha, without my knowledge.’
“Thank you, Oliver. Are you able to remain now?” he enquired. Oliver had previously been hunting with Caelan and assumed responsibility for Daisy’s sisters once Rose was subdued.
“I am well; I rested while you awaited Luna’s awakening.”
Caelan nodded and expressed his gratitude once more before ascending the stairs; he appreciated Oliver’s reference to him as the Luna.
Mason remarked, “I believed I would need to forcibly remove you from that room,” as they ascended the stairs to the fourth floor.
“Hudson and I are well. We will not replicate Kaiden’s actions, I assure you, Joe.”
“It is certain that the outcome will not be favourable for him. Amelia has expressed her discontent towards him on multiple occasions, indicating that she is unlikely to warm to him swiftly, and it appears that she remains quite content in her relationship with Hudson. This is also a positive aspect.”
“Indeed, I am optimistic.” Caelan affirmed. “Rest; it is probable that we will have little opportunity for it.”
Lark was displeased to leave Alpha Kaiden alone in the hospital, as he sustained numerous injuries and would not recuperate nearly as swiftly as Mason. The latter’s royal lineage facilitated his rapid healing, a distinct advantage of his heritage.
Alpha Kaiden would probably need to remain in the pack hospital for the remainder of the night, while Maurice would address the more severe injuries to expedite his recovery, unless he was dissatisfied with Kaiden’s actions towards Daisy. The man appeared to have concerns regarding her well-being.
He established a mental connection with Oliver to inform him that they were escorting Daisy back to her room and relayed the actions of Kaiden towards her, emphasising that neither he nor any members of the man’s pack were permitted to be alone with her under any circumstances, in case they attempted to abduct her and depart with her from the pack.
Oliver had already discerned Daisy’s significance to Caelan weeks prior, and it was probable that the entire pack would be aware by morning. All attendees of the mating ball comprehended the situation, even before the moon descended; they recognised the moment Caelan and Hudson simultaneously howled in agony, realising that their Alpha had located his Mate, who was gravely wounded. It was unequivocal.
Alpha Kaiden had completely disregarded her suffering, which was intriguing in itself. Given his certainty that she would belong to him, he had no tangible evidence or connection to her until the full moon had risen, which occurred after all the turmoil had transpired.
The leisurely walk from the pack hospital to the pack house, a 20-minute journey at Caelan’s deliberate pace, was either an attempt to prolong his time with Daisy or a consideration to avoid further taxing her. Her wounds had healed, seemingly as rapidly as his own.
Mason was astonished to witness Lydia and Alpha Anthony engaging in fervent copulation in plain sight. He was a robust, imposing figure, while Lydia stood at a mere five feet six inches and was quite diminutive.
Despite Mason’s awareness of her remarkable speed, rated 5 on foot, akin to most Alphas, she effortlessly kept pace with Caelan. It appeared that Anthony had pursued her throughout the night and had ultimately succeeded in cornering her.
Mason recognised the man, who had awaited his Goddess-Gifted Mate for over two decades, and from his observations, it was evident that he was resolute in his pursuit. He could hear Caelan instructing Daisy to neither look nor listen, as the situation was characterised by Alpha aggression from both parties.
Mason, however, observed them and shook his head. Anthony was smiling, as he was fervently mating with Lydia, who was equally engaged. It was evident that he had relished the pursuit of his mate. The erratic she-wolf had likely been evading him intentionally to provoke both her mate and his wolf into a frenzy.
He had learnt from Caelan about the girl’s preference for intensity, particularly her enjoyment of complete domination in the bedroom. Based on his observations, it was evident that she would receive precisely that from her Mate. He recognised the moment she was Marked, as the entire dynamic of their mating transformed, prompting him to shake his head.
Observing Hudson and Amelia together, content and purring at one another, was gratifying. He was reluctant to see her depart for another pack; he had only recently embraced her as his true sister, and he would be unable to safeguard her if she joined the Silver Moon pack with Alpha Kaiden as her mate.
Daisy appeared somewhat apprehensive regarding Caelan as her Mate, which was unsurprising given their previous connection. He needed to approach her; although she had expressed a desire to avoid discussions about their past, Mason understood that Caelan must elucidate matters to her. Additionally, he wished to apologise and help her comprehend the reasons behind his prior behaviour.
Mason observed that Caelan’s demeanour appeared to have shifted significantly towards her. She now recognised him as her divinely appointed mate. Explicitly informed her that Hudson was content and acknowledged that he would probably entice her if he remained.
He was endeavouring to convey to her his interest in becoming her Mate. Did not appear to be restraining in any manner. It is fortunate that he had previously maintained emotional distance from her, though this is no longer the case.
He ascended the stairs with Caelan, acknowledging that Caelan was correct; neither would obtain more than a few hours of sleep, as it was already shortly after 3 AM and breakfast commenced at 6.
It is probable that they would both rise when Luna Elizabeth awakened them, as she was heading to see Daisy.
Mason entered his suite, proceeded to his bedroom, and abruptly stopped. Ella, clad in a bloodstained, form-fitting white dress, lay asleep atop the covers in the centre of his bed, curled around one of his pillows. “Goddess help me,” he sighed internally; if he roused her, she would undoubtedly notice his bloodied state and likely panic.
He had already encountered considerable difficulty with this young woman at the mating ball, when Daisy had inadvertently thrust her into him. The insufferable girl had been in close proximity, with no space between them from her breasts to her hip. For once, he had permitted it, experiencing her body yield to his, and had even encircled her with his arms, relishing the sensation of her form against his as they swayed on the dance floor.
His gaze traversed her slumbering form, ascending her elongated legs, gliding over the contour of her hip to her slender waist. ‘Damn,’ he mused, feeling aroused merely by observing her, despite her fully clothed state. He pivoted and crossed the room, deliberately averting his eyes from her body and its alluring curves that tempted him to reach out.
Entered the bathroom, showered and dried himself. He paused to gaze at his reflection in the mirror, mentally readying himself to awaken her and request her to vacate his bed and room, anticipating the expression that would accompany this request. He inhaled deeply and retreated into his bedroom.
She nearly groaned audibly as her soft blue eyes alighted on him; she was half-reclined, bleary-eyed and partially asleep, undeniably alluring.
