Logan appeared pleased about the prospect of acquiring a sibling, although he did not exhibit the same enthusiasm as others. Later that evening, Ryder enquired about the reason for this disparity in excitement. It was revealed that he was already aware; Brianna had informed him a week prior and had insisted on confidentiality. Their closeness remained profound, and their bond would likely endure. That would also benefit their pack.
Ryder observed Brianna socialise and engage with her acquaintances, smiling and laughing with the individuals she recognised. In addition to other designers and several photographers, he observed a few models, whom she frequently employed, demonstrating a strong rapport with them, along with some of her staff. She insisted that he allow her to socialise independently if she desired.
She pointed a finger directly at him and stated, “I will not be tethered to you all night.” “Not on this occasion.”
After a brief moment of frowning at her, he laughed, recognising her sincerity. He merely nodded and replied, “Alright,” while allowing her to socialise with her human companions, though he remained vigilant.
Ryder was pleased to witness her joy, danced with her, and maintained close physical proximity throughout. He did not grip as tightly as usual, as he wished to avoid compressing their puppy. He had observed her emerge from her shell over the past few months, no longer exhibiting any standoffish behaviour.
She had genuinely permitted herself to be vulnerable with him and was relishing her reintegration into the pack.
Layla frequently participated in the pack run. Aiden and Layla had both led them since her absence, although the one immediately preceding her departure, who was already pregnant, was not under her leadership. Brianna feigned exhaustion from launching the new store and chose to retire early for the night. He was concerned that something was amiss.
She consulted the pack doctor, who had evidently been aware of her condition, as he remarked that she merely appeared fatigued.
She was likely fatigued from her Luna responsibilities and establishing a new enterprise; he even glanced at Ryder and remarked that he, the Alpha, could be depleting her energy himself. Ryder had not comprehended his meaning at the time, but he now understood it. She had clearly been insinuating her pregnancy, yet he failed to recognise it entirely.
Rowan had fully acclimated to pack life; he had exhibited no further aggression since his initiation into the pack. His integration into the pack had provided him with a sense of stability; he had not yet revealed his true potential and appeared content to remain a subordinate wolf for the time being.
The pack lifestyle was conducive to his family’s well-being, which brought him joy.
He was observing her while conversing with several of his allied Alphas. Nathan was present as well. She acquiesced and permitted the man to enter on the condition that if he caused Layla any degree of irritation, he would be featured in the shaming post.
Ryder had mocked her yet acquiesced to it. Explaining it to Nathan prompted the man to mutter extensively and assert that he had apologised. Was that insufficient? When would his cousin grant him forgiveness? Ryder did not believe it would ever occur, not entirely. The man had repeatedly threatened to abduct her child.
All circumstances were finally favourable, not only for him but also for Brianna. They exhibited evident happiness.
It was visible to all. She continued to harass him regarding her name in his office. He had not yet located it; the obstinate woman refused to disclose its whereabouts. Merely smiled at him and occasionally laughed audibly.
I informed him that he would never locate it, as it was exceedingly small. She informed him that she had placed it there just prior to turning 19, fully convinced that he would never discover it.
She had once sat in his Alpha chair and, with an amused smile while leaning her elbows on his desk, stated, “You must kneel before I divulge.” Will you accomplish that? She had been entirely flirtatious at that moment.
However, a portion of Ryder was also aware that she was sincere. He would need to kneel and implore her, but he was not prepared to do so. She laughed directly at him, tapped his desk, and remarked with a smirk, ‘On your knees right here, while I occupy your chair.’ His entire unit joined in her laughter, which irritated him immensely. He sensed that they were all aware of its location and complicit in her subtle torment.
He gazed directly at her, and she reciprocated with a smile. After a full minute, she rose from his chair, embraced him, and remarked, “When you’re ready, Alpha baby.” She then directed her gaze at his unit, winked at them all, and exited his office with a spring in her step.
All erupted in laughter at her remarks, except for him. The cursed woman was poised to drive him to madness.
Ryder drew Brianna away from her guests and onto the dance floor again, relishing the experience of dancing with her, appreciating that she could still succumb to slumber in his embrace as they swayed softly to the music, and recognising that their proximity either calmed her swiftly or ignited her desire.
He inhaled her fragrance as he stood alone in the room, the sole individual capable of perceiving her scent. He cherished that she was no longer imperceptible to him, truly valued being the sole individual aware of her authentic fragrance. It was his preferred attribute of her.
