The Alpha’s Second Chance – Chapter 279

Durations

He had not yet achieved his goal, but he was making progress. It would require additional time.

Ryder grasped her hands as Lincoln transferred her to him, leaned down, and kissed her, having not seen her for several hours and yearning for the contact.

Received a reprimand: “Not yet, Ryder son.” Ryder and Brianna, along with the majority of their guests, found it amusing. He simply could not restrain himself.

Throughout Annabella’s performance of the ceremony, I was mentally urging her to expedite the process and reach the moment when he could kiss her. Annabella and her partner Lincoln were now officially members of his pack.

Had descended and joined his group at Stella and Nolan’s nuptials. Resided in a suite on the top floor, yet positioned near his father, an elder, thus granted the privilege of occupying the uppermost level of the pack-house.

Ultimately, the woman reached the phrase “I now pronounce you husband and wife,” but then there was an extended pause. Brianna smiled and subsequently laughed, while his gaze shifted to Annabella, who appeared thoroughly entertained.

Half of his companions began to laugh upon realising that she was intentionally making him wait. “You may kiss your bride,” she declared at last, prompting Ryder to swiftly lift Brianna off her feet and embrace her fervently, kissing her passionately.

His lupine guests were exuberantly clapping and laughing, with personal expressions of affection prevalent in their realm, and he had no intention of moderating this for the human visitors. Indeed, they could all witness the extent of his affection for her. A portion of him desired their acknowledgement. Primarily, he was merely kissing her, as he adored the sensation of her body against his and her responsive nature. Her reciprocation of the kiss would never cease to enthral him.

He softly growled at her as his lips departed from hers, observing her smile as she whispered, “Don’t squeeze me so tightly.”

“I enjoy squeezing you.” Ryder embraced her even more tightly.

“The infant may not appreciate it greatly,” Brianna chuckled gently.

Ryder’s gaze darted to hers, perceiving the silence of the wolfen guests; they had all heard her utterance, “Really?”He gasped as he released her to gaze down at her, his head tilted while Aiden actively sought a faint heartbeat, which was immediately detectable.

Brianna smiled at him and replied, “Yes.”

Heard his father exclaim “Whoop” in delight.

Ryder’s hand caressed her face delicately before he kissed her again, softly and tenderly. He felt her lean into him, which he cherished immensely, and remained there, allowing the kiss to linger, indifferent to their observers; she never withdrew from his embrace. She consistently permitted him to kiss her for as long as he desired.

Ryder was unprepared for this; they were not attempting to conceive a pup. He mentioned it only once, and she sighed softly, responding, “What if it resembles me?”She had shaken her head, leading him to believe that Logan would be their sole offspring. Had relinquished it. If Logan were their sole offspring, he could accept that, provided she remained in his life, his Mate eternally. A single child sufficed.

He understood her concerns regarding the prospect of additional children, thus he believed it was her prerogative to decide whether they would have more offspring. He did not mention it again thereafter, nor did she, for that matter.

The decision was believed to be final, and the matter resolved.

Hearing those words and the heartbeat of his unborn pup was astonishing; he would finally experience all the milestones he had missed with Logan. Witness the birth of his child and hold the infant in his hands when it was exceedingly small. The prospect of their family expanding filled him and Aiden with elation. Her happiness regarding the desire to have this puppy with him and to expand their family further was evident. She was exceptional.

The marriage certificate was duly signed, and Ryder required her to sign as Brianna Layla Wood. She had laughed at him, but had done so. It was destined to be eternally preserved, and he intended to have it framed and displayed in his Alpha’s office for public viewing, likely obtaining a duplicate for her office as well.

Subsequently, the celebration commenced. Culinary offerings, beverages, music, and dancing. Numerous congratulations were extended from his allied pack, Alpha’s, regarding his acquisition of a Luna and the arrival of his new pup. They were all pleased to meet Logan, as the boy received numerous remarks such as, ‘So this is the young man my son or daughter will be interacting with.’

Additionally, I received several remarks such as, ‘Indeed, he is destined to be a heartbreaker with those eyes of yours, Ryder.’

To Ryder’s astonishment, the boy informed the majority that he intended to await his Mate. Surprised by several.

Some merely chuckled and whispered, we shall see. However, the majority smiled at him and remarked softly, “That is commendable behaviour for an Alpha,” which elicited a broad smile from Logan.

Ryder believed it was primarily related to the events concerning his mother, rather than any other factors. A decision likely made by him and Rowan after comprehending the events that transpired. Release it. He was permitted to pursue his desires; certain wolves awaited their companions, irrespective of the duration required. He was aware of one or two who had.
