The Alpha’s Second Chance – Chapter 252

The omega caressed her arm delicately. “It is acceptable; I was merely emphasising a point. I apologise for your involvement.” The woman nodded and swiftly exited the room.

Brianna’s gaze shifted to Sadie; this remark was intriguing coming from her. She was seated beside Luca at the table, and she noticed that Ryder disapproved of it.

The girl gazed at him for a full minute before resuming her breakfast. It now appeared that she was dissatisfied with them or had been with Ryder.

Brianna pondered what had transpired yesterday afternoon.

It is probable that chaos ensued in the Alpha office yesterday afternoon, and this was the girls’ method of retaliation.

“Sadie, please,” Ryder said, “I have apologised to you and Luca for yesterday.”

That was a compelling assertion. He had expressed remorse, yet still appeared discontented. The girl and Luca appeared to be permitted to openly pursue their relationship.

You had no authority to attempt intervention. “I am not a child; I am 18 years old and not your offspring,” Sadie asserted, standing and gazing directly at Brianna. “Do not acquiesce to them; they will anticipate it whenever they desire something, should you comply.”

Subsequently, she pivoted and departed from the table.

Brianna refused to submit to either of them, nor was she obligated to do so. Benjamin was neither her Alpha nor Ryder’s. She was marked by him, thus should be regarded as his equal rather than subordinate, and he had yet to apologise for his own transgressions, his hubris in believing he could act as he wished with her due to his status as Alpha.

The man was unaware of her disposition. The man seemed to maintain his conviction that he was justified in relocating her and Logan here, believing that as the Alpha, his authority was absolute within the pack. It was not the case for a rogue, although she was no longer one since he had inducted her into the pack yesterday.

Ryder’s gaze was upon her again. “Brianna, your call would be appreciated.”

“Indeed, it would,” she affirmed, “but I shall not.” Your actions were inappropriate. “She had no right, in fact.” Subsequently, she turned and departed, aware that she would eventually need to retrieve her belongings, and half-smiled to herself as she walked away.

She might simply arrange that herself and leave his van in the impound lot, effectively asserting her dominance. Demonstrate to him that she would operate according to her own terms. She believed it would probably irritate him.

Seated in her suite and reviewing her emails, Stella was aware that she had already reached out to all her stores and informed the store managers that the official stance was no comment regarding her relationship with Ryder Wood. Stella was at liberty to express any sentiments regarding herself and Carlos, and she could verify the impending inauguration of a Goddess Gowns store in Helena.

The pair had been working from her suite all morning. Logan appeared content playing video games while they worked; he would soon need to be enrolled in school and commence attending classes. Ryder has not yet mentioned it, nor has she. It was Thursday, and she perceived no urgency, having been present for only four days.

Logan appeared indifferent to not attending; she preferred that he acclimatise more thoroughly to the pack, establish stability, and maintain Rowan’s contentment and tranquilly. The Wolfen school may induce some stress for him. They did not require that.

The education provided at the pack school will differ from that of his school in Colorado, as will the schedule. In the pack, school hours were from nine to three, rather than eight thirty to three thirty, which meant he would appreciate an hour and a half less of school each day.

Logan could also walk to school rather than taking the bus, as it was merely a brief fifteen to twenty-minute walk. As the Alpha’s son, it was probable that he would be driven to school daily until he established friendships that allowed him to walk.

She consistently walked daily, enduring both snow and summer heat, compelled to traverse regardless of rain, snow, or sunshine. The distance from the pack-house was not substantial enough to necessitate a drive, yet she was convinced he would insist on being driven. Many children of the ranked members had been transported to and from school during her residence here.

“Brianna,” Ryder communicated through the mind-link. She sighed; he had assured her he would refrain from using it. Would continue to knock on her door to converse, or text or call her on her phone, which lasted merely a day.

What? She responded, permitting her irritation to manifest.

Your presence is required at the pack’s gate; a courier awaits your signature.

“Fine.” She severed the connection and stood up, observing Stella’s inquisitive gaze.

“I must proceed to acknowledge receipt of a delivery.”

“I am capable of that, Brianna,” Stella remarked, rising.

“No, it is indeed mine that they require,” Brianna informed her; it was presumably Stella’s new contract. She observed Logan, who appeared content, as he exited her room and descended the stairs, where he encountered Ryder awaiting her arrival.

“I am aware of the location of the gate,” she informed him.

“I assumed I would drive you,” he remarked nonchalantly.

“I am capable of driving myself.” He nodded. “You are upset with me; perhaps we could address the reason during the car ride.” She glared at him, still irritated. “You stated you would refrain from mind-linking, messaging, or calling, yet you entirely ignored that.”

He was gazing at her, appearing quite astonished. “I apologise; I did not even consider it.” It is merely a natural inclination, I presume. Now that you are a member of the pack, I shall endeavour to refrain from repeating it.

“Hmm, I suppose we shall see.” She extended her hands for the car keys he was grasping. “Keys.”

Brianna, kindly allow me to assist you. “It’s merely a trivial matter.” She gazed directly at him. “Why must you intervene? I am an adult and capable of managing everything independently.” Then, she exited.

I desire to be capable of performing tasks for you. “Take care of yourself, provide for yourself.” She raised an eyebrow at him in inquiry, as she did not comprehend the necessity for such actions. “Undoubtedly, you have more important matters to attend to.” You are occupied managing your pack and its enterprises. Do not preoccupy yourself with my actions. I am capable of managing my daily responsibilities.

He remained silent as he unlocked the car and opened the door for her. Brianna entered the vehicle, and he closed the door before she could, frowning as he circled to the driver’s side.

The courier arrived to deliver Stella’s new contract.

Brianna opened the document during the car ride back to the pack house. It met her specifications and contained all the necessary “sign here” stickers for both her and Stella. She smiled to herself as she returned it to the envelope.
