The Alpha’s Possession – Chapter 129

Swings

Although she had suspected and witnessed her with the Pack’s future Beta shortly after her 16th birthday, causing her heart to race, she disapproved of the situation in which she found her child. Nevertheless, she refrained from intervening, despite her desire to do so, as it was not her prerogative. Upon observing her with Joe, she realised that the girl bore a striking resemblance to her two daughters; she had younger sisters of whom she was unaware. She possessed an entire family of which she was entirely unaware, one that she was currently concealing from her.

Upon departing from the pack shortly before her 18th birthday, she felt a sense of relief, having ventured into the human world, a more secure environment for her. Nevertheless, she always harboured the awareness that she would eventually return home. Upon her return home, she exhibited a noticeable change; it was immediately apparent, as she sensed it, detected his essence, his lineage, and the potency associated with it.

Had observed attentively to determine if she had also transformed, resembling him. A malevolent entity that necessitates extermination. It appeared that little had changed, and the Pack’s Beta was quite pleased to see her; however, what about the new Alpha? She did not hold him accountable; the unfortunate man had been compelled to mate with her and did not even remember it, nor did her daughter, for that matter.

She suspected the perpetrator but had never been able to obtain any evidence, rendering confrontation unfeasible. She could have summoned a seer from her home pack to ascertain the veracity of the situation, but that would expose her own child, whom she had concealed for a specific reason. Therefore, it was necessary to refrain from further engagement. Not that she had not seized the opportunity to defeat both of them during training.

Observing clandestinely from the forest, she was both awed and terrified by the formidable power she exhibited while confronting the Pack Beta without trepidation; her emotions awakened a latent aspect of herself that she had likely never accessed before. A darkness that could potentially engulf her soul.

She would not be astonished if the woman she was observing possessed similar markings to those of the Beta, likely more pronounced, as she had not approached the woman since her return home. The Alpha and Beta located her and compelled her to return home. Even after the girl had consented to permit him to transform her into a rogue. He appeared more enraged by that than by her vow and allegiance. She was aware that he had branded her, having tasted her blood; the girl’s venom coursed through his veins as well, suggesting that his attachment was deeper than it appeared. It may have been unnatural; she was uncertain, as he had never exhibited any indications of intending to harm her; quite the contrary, in fact.

However, she had departed for an extended period and was not of legal age at the time of her departure.

Time would reveal the outcome; she could easily envision the impending conflict between the Alpha and Beta over the woman. A similar confrontation had occurred previously when she had escaped during her daughter’s near-fatal incident at eighteen, resulting in a violent clash between the two men.

The Beta’s bond was inadvertently her creation; she had beseeched the moon Goddess on the night she forsook her child and fled the pack, imploring for someone to eternally safeguard and watch over her offspring.

Selena, the Moon Goddess, had heeded her plea and responded to her prayers; her daughter had been bestowed with the most formidable protector.

A portion of her had desired it were not he. However, another aspect of her felt satisfaction, as few could vanquish a wolf of noble lineage. He would sacrifice his life for her; she was witnessing the proof of that at this very moment, even at her own hands. He could never harm her; he was her guardian.

Observing her halt and gaze in a near trance before losing consciousness was significant; it indicated the presence of a force surpassing her own, leading to her transport to the pack-house for recuperation. Her identity was no longer concealed; she was aware that the Beta harboured suspicions, although he had never addressed the matter directly, appearing to possess a deeper understanding. She anticipated his arrival for a response. His small Daisy possessed alpha lineage. He had always known she was distinct, but now it was revealed for all to observe.

Her Alpha is now cognisant that his lost Mate is no longer a mere creature. What action would he take regarding something that is lethal to him? She was unaware. He had entered the cells to converse with that scoundrel, whom she could not approach herself. However, if they were to lower their defences even slightly, she would infiltrate and instill terror in that man’s heart just before she eliminated him.

Her concern for her unconscious child. Her powers appeared to be triggered by her anger or intense emotions; however, she had never been an angry child. Even when subjected to the unhealthy dynamics with Alpha Caelan, she had merely accepted her fate like a compliant soldier until she ultimately did not. She contemplated that. Possibly a gift from the Goddess herself.

Daisy’s Perspective

She awoke in her chamber, the bedside lamp illuminated while the remainder of the room remained shrouded in darkness, and everything returned to her memory. She confronted Mason, an overwhelming sensation engulfed her, her entire body felt as though it were ablaze. Her entire back had burned intensely, and she experienced profound anger and rage at being discarded, leading to a psychological break that resulted in her losing control and turning against her most trusted friend.

She covered her mouth with her hand as a sob escaped her, anguish overwhelming her at the harm she had inflicted upon him. Tears stung her eyes as she concealed her face and wept. She felt a pair of arms encircle her and, through her tears, she beheld him standing there, seemingly unperturbed by her distress.

Mason whispered, “Shh,” as he drew her into his embrace. “We are fine, I assure you.”

Daisy turned onto his broad chest, enveloped him with her arms, and wept, “I apologise,” remaining there as she cried into him. This was not the first occasion she had been enveloped in his embrace, weeping in anguish. However, it was the inaugural occasion on which she believed he ought not to be present, holding her and attempting to console her, given her actions.

She was unworthy of his solace, yet he was her sole companion. She felt somewhat fractured, cognisant of the fact that it was always solely him.

Her biological father had attempted to murder her, and her stepmother wished to sever all ties with her.

No remaining family. She attempted to restrain her emotions but was unable to do so, resulting in an outpouring of tears, her entire body convulsing with uncontrollable sobs. Was unable to cease, attempted to do so but failed.

He merely reclined and grasped her. She sensed his hand caressing her back and acknowledged his reassurance that everything would be fine and that he was present for her.

That he would invariably be present for her, regardless of circumstances. It simply intensified her tears. She was unworthy of a friend such as him. He surpassed her in merit.

Daisy recognised that something was amiss with her.

She had never experienced anger, consistently remaining composed and resilient in the face of life’s challenges, despite having a past that warranted considerable indignation. Despite her family’s treatment, the absence of memory, and the entirety of her Mate Bond, she had ample reasons to feel anger, yet she never allowed it to overwhelm her.

Today was distinct; she felt compelled to comprehend the reasons behind his abrupt hostility, believing there must be more to the situation than his explanation conveyed. It could not solely be a punishment inflicted upon him that motivated his desire to kill her. She required clarification; it troubled her daily why he had acted thus.

Who was he? He was no longer the man who had cherished her, the man she remembered smiling down at her while tucking her into bed, reading her bedtime stories, occasionally singing to her, pushing her on the swings at the park, and chasing her while tickling her as she laughed up at him. What transpired with her father that engendered such animosity towards her? This individual was no longer that person.

Or was it she? She recognised that she had transformed over the years, yet it was not her fault. She had not requested that mark to manifest on her, nor did she comprehend its presence. Or even its significance. Was he aware of it?
