ARLO
“Hello, Violet, how are you? I’m sorry I wasn’t able to call you yesterday,” Lily said on the other end of the line.
“It’s okay, Lily,” Violet replied.
As they continued their conversation, Lily eventually revealed the truth, leaving Violet speechless.
“Lily, is it true what you’re saying? That you and Arlo Bonde are now together? OMG! No comment! You hit the jackpot—both of you are well-off,” Violet said on the line.
“Violet, is this what love feels like?” Lily asked.
“It seems like you’ve been struck hard, Lily. What if you tell him who you really are? Maybe he’s the one who can help you,” Violet suggested, sighing.
“I will tell him, Violet, but not yet, because…” Lily stopped speaking when she heard the doorbell ring.
She was about to go inside to open the door, but she saw that Arlo had already opened it. Two men stood at the door, whom Arlo greeted warmly.
When the two men noticed Lily standing nearby, they smiled at her.
Lily excused herself from Violet on the line because Arlo approached her with a smile and put his arm around her waist.
“Babe, I want to introduce you to my friends,” Arlo whispered to her.
“Lily Perry, my babe. Babe, this is Gilbert and Nathan, my friends.”
Arlo’s two friends shook hands with Lily.
After a short while, Lily excused herself as it seemed like Arlo needed to discuss something with his friends. She went into the kitchen to prepare snacks for them.
“Dude, I’m happy for you. Finally, your heart has been struck,” Nathan said to Arlo.
“Are you serious about her? Or is she just another bed warmer for you? I think she’s different from your other women,” Nathan added.
Lily overheard their conversation unintentionally since the door wasn’t closed.
“Bed warmer?” Lily whispered to herself.
She felt a slight sting in her heart upon hearing this. Instead of entering the room, her feet hesitated, and she returned to the kitchen, not waiting to hear Arlo’s response to his friends.
“She’s not just a bed warmer to me. She’s different. I feel comfortable when I’m with her. I’m f***ing in love with her. I’m even scared of losing her,” Arlo said.
“What if your Grandpa finds out that the first time you introduced her, it was part of an agreement between you and Lily?”
“If Grandpa finds out, Lily and I will tell him that we’re in love with each other. Not a big problem,” Arlo replied to his friend.
“Good luck, dude. But remember, all of us have the same weakness when it comes to the women we love. So, good luck to all of us,” Gilbert said.
Their conversation then became more serious, shifting to business matters.
After their discussion, Gilbert and Nathan said their goodbyes. Arlo also needed to prepare, as he and Lily had to visit his Grandpa.
When Arlo saw Lily quietly sitting in the living room, he approached her.
“Babe, what’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell, or is something bothering you?” Arlo asked gently.
“Maybe I just didn’t get enough sleep. Aren’t we going to visit your Grandpa?” Lily asked to avoid Arlo’s probing.
Arlo was about to reply when both he and Lily turned toward the doorbell, which rang again. Arlo stood up to check who was outside. When he opened the door, one of Grandpa Thomas’s men was standing there.
“Sir Arlo, Don Thomas is waiting for you,” the man said.
Lily overheard that Don Thomas was only waiting for Arlo.
“Arlo, I’m here. You should go and see your Grandpa,” Lily said softly.
“No, babe, you’re coming with me. So Grandpa can see and understand what’s between us is real. I won’t let him interfere in my life anymore,” Arlo said to Lily as he held her hand.
Lily had no choice but to accompany Arlo.
Not long after, they arrived at the mansion of Arlo’s parents. When they entered, Don Thomas was visibly surprised to see that Arlo wasn’t alone.
