“I observe your son consumes food similarly to you, Ryder,” his father remarked, seated opposite Logan, unable to restrain himself. He had a grandson, a long-held desire fulfilled, and he positioned himself directly beside the boy.
He smiled down at the boy, observed Logan gazing up at him, then inching closer to Ryder, while hearing his father’s huff, indicating annoyance at the boy’s resistance.
“I am not inclined to bite, grandson; I am too old for that.” He opened his mouth and gestured to his human teeth. “Observe, there are no sharp teeth here.”
Heard Helen exclaim, “Not in that mouth, but Colt does.”
“Silence, woman; I am attempting to convey a demeanour of benign amiability to my grandson, in hopes that he will embrace me.”
Ryder observed Brianna stating, “He struggles with Alphas; he has never had a positive experience with any of them, I suppose.” She conveyed this to his father.
How many had they encountered with any of them? It would be necessary to enquire with her; if there were multiple individuals who were all hostile and menacing, it is understandable that the boys’ wolf exhibited aggression.
“I intend to alter that.” His father smiled directly at Brianna and then turned to Logan, “Have you ever desired to ride a wolf?”“Even Ryder disapproved of that remark; it appears the man intends to exhaust all options. ‘Father, I believe that may be excessive.’”
“Nonsense, you and your brothers, including Sadie,” he gestured towards his daughter, “have all ridden Colt.” He is sufficiently content to permit Logan, our grandson.
Logan’s eyes widened in astonishment. “You can ride wolves?” I am too large to perform that task; they are approximately the size of a dog, correct?”
“Hmm, no son…actually significantly larger, two or three times the size…” he recalled that the boy had never actually encountered his mother’s wolf, nor had he.
Possessed solely a written description.
Aiden experienced a wave of sadness, as they were unaware of Layla’s appearance. It was probable that they had encountered her during pack runs and training but simply did not recall, which distressed his wolf. They were uncertain whether Layla could regain her full wolfen strength, which would enable her to shift once more.
“Indeed?”Logan enquired, gazing up at him.
“Indeed, if you are to ride any wolf, it shall be Aiden, not Colt.” This statement was primarily intended for his father’s awareness rather than Logan’s. Even Felt Aiden exhibited a slight increase in enthusiasm, appearing to appreciate the notion; it would also serve as a beneficial bonding opportunity for both of them, contingent upon Rowan’s consent.
“That belongs to me.” “Find your own,” his father admonished. “Now, Logan, you truly wish to ride Colt; he is the swiftest wolf in the pack.” Extremely rapid.
“I wager he cannot surpass mother,” Logan retorted immediately.
Observed Brianna smirk yet remain silent.
“The match will be decided once your mother has fully recuperated.” I shall accept your challenge, young man, and upon my victory, which is assured, you will permit me to embrace you. That is the agreement; no retractions are permitted.
“Agreement.” Logan extended his hand to shake the man’s hand.
Delighted his father immensely, beaming with foolish joy. He appeared exceedingly elated to have a grandson, subsequently turning to embrace Helen with joy, while Ryder observed the woman shake her head in agreement with him.
He contemplated Brianna’s perspective regarding the challenge their son posed for her attendance. Did not appear particularly concerned about it. It was probable that she would present a distance challenge and achieve a significant victory.
Colt was undeniably swift, albeit over short distances; he could probably surpass her in a sprint. However, Ryder was unequivocally certain that no one in this pack could outpace his Mate in an endurance race.
He believed breakfast was proceeding exceptionally well.
Brianna and Layla may not have desired a return to pack life, yet it is instinctual for wolves to reside within a pack. She appeared relatively at ease, exuding calmness, and that smirk suggested she relished a challenge, likely contemplating how to assert dominance over her former Alpha.
Ryder appreciated her desire to participate as well. It indicated her presence was necessary for that purpose. They may have contemplated remaining but had not yet communicated this to him.
He paused to organise his thoughts, as he was becoming overly anticipatory. Allowing his thoughts to become unrestrained.
He needed to halt that train of thought, or he would inadvertently attempt to touch her.
He harboured significant doubts regarding her readiness for his overt affection, despite the active nature of their bond.
Brianna’s Perspective
Brianna observed Sadie entering the dining room. Her eyes briefly met Brianna’s before the girl departed to obtain food, indicating her current discomfort. It appeared she was required to sit at the same table as Brianna, which she recognised as the Alpha’s family table. I had not contemplated it prior to taking a seat.
She appeared exceedingly anxious to Brianna as she took a seat, clearly intent on avoiding any aggravation or distress that might prompt Brianna to inform Ryder about what she had witnessed earlier that morning.
Brianna was sincere in her statement to Luca; she was indifferent to their actions. However, it appeared that Sadie recognised that Brianna could disclose their activities to Ryder at any moment, for any reason.
I found it rather amusing, in fact.
