The Alpha’s Second Chance – Chapter 200

Aiden and I observed something during the argument between her and me. Nolan and Luca observed something prior to it; none of us were aware of her identity, merely a precaution. Nonetheless, Aiden remains somewhat displeased with her.

Brianna told him bluntly, “Move on.” “She is Nolan’s mate and was likely merely perplexed about the functioning of the situation, as she remains human.”

“Indeed, Aiden requires additional time.” We did not intend to characterise you in that manner.

“You may return it,” she remarked with a shrug.

I shall not be. I desire you, Brianna. I shall never retract it.

“You possess no knowledge of my identity.”

“Indeed, it reflects your obstinacy and the depth of your affection for our son.” “You raised him exceptionally, Brianna.” He placed his hands on her shoulders again and turned her to face him once more. “Thank you for that, for… concealing the extent of your pain from him.” He was aware of her suffering; he recognised the raised eyebrow as her defence mechanism.

At that moment, she exhibited minimal emotion, having emotionally disengaged to confront him.

“I became proficient at that from a young age,” she remarked with a shrug. “This proficiency only increased as I matured.”

I apologise, Brianna. I was unaware.

“I am completely cognisant of that,” she acknowledged.

It astonished him significantly.

“I can merely extend my apologies.”

I did not request that of you. Have I ever requested that you apologise? She interrogated him.

Ryder scowled as he gazed down at her. “No,” he remarked upon realising that she had never once indicated that this was his fault or requested an apology.

What is the reason for this?He was now inquisitive.

“I understand it was not your fault.” She shrugged.

Ryder merely gazed at her, thus she did not hold him accountable for any of this. He could capitalise on that achievement. Perhaps she did not harbour any animosity towards him; she was merely emotionally guarded. He might have needed to encourage her to be more receptive, to allow him access to her inner self. However, if she did not hold him accountable, despite his assumption that she would, he pondered, “Whom do you hold responsible?” Undoubtedly, you must.

“I presume I am cursed by the moon goddess,” Ryder sighed. “To be candid, I share that sentiment as well.” To realise the extent of your suffering, of which I was entirely unaware during that time, is profoundly distressing.

“There is nothing you can do about it now,” she sighed and turned to gaze out the window.

“May I enquire about something that is troubling me?”

If you desire, you are the Alpha. <text”You will act according to your own desires regardless.” This remark caused him to frown, but he dismissed it and moved on. “Why do you refuse to address me by my name?””

“Frankly, it causes us pain.”

“I will never abandon you, Brianna; not a single day has elapsed since your rejection without my yearning for you and seeking you out.” I desire no one else and shall not desire anyone else.

“I appreciate it, I suppose.” Given the circumstances, I believe I would not have survived without your assistance. Do not assume that Logan would be present here as well.

“Will you remain here in the group?” Prior to your response, I acknowledge your reluctance to be present and your engagement in a distinctly human existence. Extremely conspicuous in that regard. However, Brianna, I am your Mate, and I desire your constant presence with me.

He received silence from her, which was not unexpected. He recognised that he was demanding a considerable amount at that moment. However, I felt compelled to enquire about her perspective on their present circumstances; she was not particularly forthcoming and was difficult to interpret.

“I kindly request your consideration.”

“I suppose it will be contingent upon Logan,” she finally articulated.

His gaze shifted to the playground, where the boy engaged with his peers, exhibiting sociability. He observed that Nolan and Stella were seated, observing him without intervening in his interactions with the other wolfen children, thereby permitting him to cultivate his own opinions and relationships.

“What are your desires?”Ryder enquired.

“Only Logan is significant.” “I never received what I desired,” she remarked with a shrug. “I will ensure he lacks for nothing.” Run.

Ryder was once more frowning, and even Aiden appeared perplexed by her remark. If Logan expressed a desire to remain, she would comply. However, that was not his desire. He desired Brianna to willingly choose to be present. She should postpone it for the time being; she had much to assimilate, despite his and Aiden’s desire for her and Layla to assert their claims immediately. It was not going to occur at this moment.

“Why don’t we proceed to the park and observe Logan?”He proposed an alternative, aiming to remove her from this room and into the pack. He understood her reluctance, yet believed that her departure would ultimately be beneficial.
