The Alpha’s Second Chance – Chapter 190

Exude

He brought his coffee to his office and settled at his desk, contemplating whether there was anyone with whom she would feel at ease. Helen had stayed with her throughout the night, and he could not request her assistance again today. She was presumably in her suite resting at this moment.

Nolan was seated in the chair opposite him. “I lack the time, Nolan.”

“You must allocate time,” he remarked, gazing directly at him. Ryder fixed him with a glare. “What is the reason?” Are you merely seeking to remove Stella from the room?”

The man stated flatly, “Stella possesses her wolf,” appearing somewhat irritated by Ryder’s tone. Ryder sighed, “I apologise, Nolan.” He expressed regret for his tone and indifference. This constituted a significant problem.

At what time?“He enquired at this moment.” Could his day become any more stressful?

Nolan remarked, “Last night, I awoke to find it gazing at me in human form.” “Everything appears superficial and entirely under Stella’s control.” The man then smiled directly at him, clearly amused, and added, “Then it all escalated to aggressively confronting Oscar.”

“What is the issue?”Ryder did not comprehend that they were Mates, and that wolves frequently mated, which was beneficial as it fostered a stronger bond between them.

Stella awoke this morning unaware of it.

Or appeared not to, refraining from making any comments regarding it. Unusual. Ryder fixed his gaze upon him. It was certainly peculiar. After considerable contemplation, he shook his head and declared, “Mark her, observe the outcome.” He then gestured for the man to leave his office.

“Ryder?”Nolan scowled at him.

Nathan is arriving, Nolan; I have far more pressing concerns at this moment. “If you mark her, she will transform on the subsequent full moon.”

“I comprehend that, Ryder, but she has not witnessed any of us transform previously.”

“Indeed, she has. Did Oscar not stalk her in Denver?” Observed the man flinch, evidently displeased by the reminder of his error.

“I observed Oscar, but not the shift itself.”

“Proceed to converse with her regarding the matter.” Transform for her; you would do so regardless, prior to the full moon. This allows her to observe Oscar’s interaction with him without fear. She will also be aware of what to expect when her wolf manifests.

“What are the regulations regarding internal relocation within the pack-house?”Ryder exhaled and instructed, “Take her outside.” I only placed her in lockdown because we were uncertain of her identity.

She may still need to be kept away from Aiden, who might still harbour anger towards her.

This may elucidate her response to you, Ryder.

“It is acknowledged that it could.” Group mentality. Determine the specific type of wolf, if possible, and report back to me.

Nolan nodded, “I can arrange for her to sit with Brianna and Logan afterwards.”

Ryder gazed directly at him, which would effectively resolve one of his issues. “Excellent suggestion, Nolan.” He acknowledged with a nod.

“I apologise for my brevity; I am currently overwhelmed with numerous responsibilities.”

Nolan nodded in affirmation. “It will be fine, Ryder.”

“I am optimistic.”

“No, it will be.” I received no negative remarks from her this morning. Not even a semblance of anger. It appeared to be perplexed regarding the circumstances of its occurrence. Marking her may have alleviated some of her and Layla’s apprehension regarding your inability to scent them, and consequently, to claim and mark them.

“Thus, she appeared satisfactory to you.”

“Not precisely fine, yet neither angry nor upset, as far as I could discern,” he shrugged.

“Thank you, Nolan.”

“You’re welcome,” observed the man as he exited his office.

Is it possible for any additional unusual occurrences to transpire today? He shook his head.

Alpha Nathan arrived precisely at 12 PM, as announced by the northern border patroller of Ryder, along with his singular guest. They both arrived in wolf form but transformed at the border to declare their presence, were escorted to the pack house, and were both given the opportunity to cleanse themselves and don fresh attire.

He was seated in his office with both of them 15 minutes after their arrival at the pack-house. The Dieng Elder was an elderly woman, as expected of her status. She possessed light blue eyes reminiscent of Alpha Nathan and had long grey hair cascading to the middle of her back. Despite her grey hair, indicative of her age, she appeared no older than 50, though she was likely nearing 100. A petite and fit woman, she had managed to keep pace with Nathan and Ryder, who had run at full wolfen speed to arrive. While she did not exude the scent of Alpha blood, this did not preclude her from being one.
