The Alpha’s Second Chance – Chapter 189

Entire Pack

Contemplated the duration of their slumber, presumably reassured by one another’s presence. He urgently required a conversation with her to resolve this predicament. It simply could not seem to find relief. His father had telepathically communicated to inform him that Alpha Nathan and one of the Dieng Elders were en route to their location. He had already informed Nathan that Brianna had returned to the Pack.

Nathan and the Elder will arrive here in wolf form directly from their pack located just beyond the border by noon. Ryder was exceedingly discontented with his news. Brianna and Logan had scarcely acclimated to their surroundings, and now they were compelled to confront Nathan.

He was certain that neither of them would desire to proceed, and he anticipated that it would not end favourably.

He was improbable to have any time to resolve matters or even attempt to do so. He silently closed the door after observing them for a few minutes and then withdrew. Both appeared to be sleeping soundly; however, she had awakened, and he was assured of her well-being.

Informed Dr. Daniel that he needed to prepare for the imminent arrival of an Alpha to the pack. If Brianna wished to rise and move about, she was permitted to do so at his discretion, provided he deemed her capable. He did not wish to restrict her movements, but desired to be informed if she departed from the hospital.

Ryder could not only perceive her scent but also sense her presence through their partially established Bond, enabling him to not only ascertain her location but also track her through their connection. He desired to be present when she awakened.

Ryder was aware that Nathan disliked being kept waiting; he was somewhat impatient, a trait he had exhibited for as long as Ryder had known him. He was aware that Nathan would probably insist on meeting her to obtain the information he sought regarding Logan’s conception.

He was destined to be a significant annoyance to Ryder, given that Brianna had now also been Marked by him while she was unconscious. That was unlikely to be well received by the man, given the agreement between their factions.

Proceeding to the pack-house and ascending to his suite, he contemplated a strategy to avoid an outright confrontation with the man regarding her and her condition. The situation ultimately hinges on the fact that if Nathan had not intimidated her, none of this would have transpired. Intended to direct it against him. The man would not appreciate that whatsoever.

As I turned the corner of the hall towards the Alpha quarters, I observed Sadie conversing with Luca outside his suite, appearing quite irritated with Ryder. They both turned and gazed directly at him, evidently too engrossed in their prior conversation to notice his approach, or perhaps they assumed he was still in the pack hospital.

Sadie glared at him and then at Luca before stalking off down the hallway in the opposite direction, perplexing him; there was nothing there, merely a dead end and a staircase leading to the other floors and the basement. Observed her strike her hand forcefully against it and forcefully push it out of view.

Ryder arched an eyebrow at Luca. What is occurring? He enquired.

“There is nothing for you to concern yourself with.” I can manage it; you should concentrate on Brianna.

“Nathan is en route,” Ryder remarked, “and will arrive by lunchtime.”

I observed the man frown and enquire, “Is Brianna informed yet?”“

“No,” Ryder sighed. “However, she awoke around 4 this morning and is currently asleep again.” Logan is present with her in the bed.

Luca nodded affirmatively and proceeded to return to his suite.

“Luca, Sadie?”Ryder enquired once more.

“Issues with her boyfriend.” That captured Ryder’s interest. “Since when has she been in a relationship?””

“A brief period, but not until after her 18th birthday.”

“Who is the wolf?”Ryder scowled. “I will converse with him.”

No necessity. He is exceedingly apprehensive regarding your response. That appears to be her issue. I will manage it, Ryder; you have sufficient responsibilities to attend to.

“Indeed, he ought to be.” Ryder acknowledged and entered his suite. Luca was fully capable of confronting a single wolf, intending to instill as much fear in it as Ryder would. Abandoned him to manage the situation. This likely explains why Sadie approached Luca instead of him, amused by the wolf’s apprehension regarding his response.

However, it was more probable that he should be concerned about their father Benjamin’s response. Fortunately, he need not concern himself with that in the future, as he had a son rather than a daughter.

He took an extended, scalding shower to alleviate the tension in his body, donned dark navy blue slacks and a light blue dress shirt, and then proceeded to the dining room for breakfast. Although it was past the designated breakfast hours, a buffet of fresh fruits and sandwiches was always available; no one in his pack went hungry.

All pack members may enter and partake in food throughout the day. This also facilitated a more orderly meal schedule for the omegas he relied upon to manage the kitchen and prepare food for all.

Discovered the majority of them congregated, consuming coffee and partaking in food.

All of them smiled at him, while the head Omega, a man named Calvin, rose to procure food for him. Ryder dismissed him, stating, “I can manage it. Please, complete your break.” He noticed the collective gaze upon him; most were smiling, and several extended their congratulations for discovering his Luna.

He smiled and nodded in response, then seated himself to eat, encountering nearly every individual who entered for refreshments smiling at him and offering congratulations. He expressed his gratitude to them all with a nod, although a portion of him remained apprehensive about the impending conversation with her. Following Logan’s revelations the previous night, she was aware that it was Aiden, his wolf, and not Ryder himself, who had claimed and marked her. I was unaware of her opinions regarding that matter.

However, he could merely smile at his pack members and allow them to believe that all would be well. He did not require their expressions of concern regarding the situation or any of them approaching her to pose enquiries. He did not believe that would occur. There would be official consequences for anyone he discovered harassing her. She was the Luna, and respect would be accorded. The entire pack was aware of this and would adhere to the regulations, he reassured himself.
