The Alpha’s Second Chance – Chapter 178

Rage

Ryder sensed his son’s Alpha Aura emanating from him; it did not significantly impact him, yet he perceived it and observed that his son remained motionless initially. The boy stood upright, his small fists clenched at his sides, and then Rowan was propelled forward, prompting Ryder to instinctively recognise that this situation would not end well.

“Calm down,” he extended his hands towards the boy in an attempt to soothe him.

A loud and aggressive snarl was directed at him, accompanied by a more potent manifestation of Alpha Aura, which was significantly intensified with his wolf’s presence, causing him to blink in response to its strength. He did not feel compelled to retreat, yet he was quite certain that the wolf could easily dominate the omega if they were part of a pack and that Aura was directed towards them.

“Luca, prevent this plane from taking off,” he commanded his Beta.

Ryder?

“Rowan is quite agitated,” he informed him, stepping back to indicate compliance to his son’s wolf. He noticed the door open and observed Rowan’s gaze shift towards it, hoping the boy and his wolf would not perceive it as a threat. He anticipated Luca’s arrival. Observed Nolan entering the room. The boy’s wolf-like eyes returned to him. A subdued growl emanated from the wolf.

Nolan positioned himself directly in front of him. “Logan, my friend, it is acceptable.”

“That is Rowan,” Ryder informed him.

“Out,” Nolan declared calmly, placing a hand on Ryder and gently ushering him through the door, while the man maintained his gaze on the boy. “Hey, everything will be perfectly fine,” Nolan reassured the boy.

Ryder withdrew and shut the door. His gaze remained fixed on Rowan throughout, and it had not eluded his notice, nor would it Nolan’s, that the boy’s claws had emerged. His wolf was decidedly displeased and could likely fully transform if he wished. Now possesses total and absolute control.

He paused on the opposite side of the door for a moment before his gaze shifted to Stella, who was seated in the far corner of the plane, flanked by Luca and Enzo, positioned to shield her from him, a fact he was acutely aware of. It appeared that she did as well. He could distinctly perceive the woman’s palpable fear. Her outburst and disrespect had instigated this situation, and he desired to strangle the woman.

Upon disembarking the plane, he observed that both his Beta and Delta were visibly tense and prepared to protect the girl. She was exceedingly fortunate to be Nolan’s Mate at that moment; otherwise, nothing and no one could have prevented him from decapitating her.

Descended the aircraft’s stairs and moved away from the plane; there was no outlet for his anger, so he wandered aimlessly in an attempt to compose himself. He was oblivious to the situation involving Nolan and Logan and refrained from intruding into his Gamma’s thoughts, recognising that the man likely required all his faculties to navigate whatever transpired in that room.

He was aware that the man appeared to have established a bond with the boy. The boy was unaware of the quality of the bond he shared with the first wolf he had actively engaged with, challenged, and relished in defeating. Nolan treated him well. That was the entirety of Ryder’s knowledge. Enzo’s children held a strong affection for their uncle. He possessed an innate affinity for children.

The pilot approached him and stated, “Alpha Ryder, we are prepared when you are.”

“We are not, a potential situation is developing on the aircraft that we wish to avoid in-flight.”

The pilot raised an eyebrow and stated, “I’ll be in the cockpit; inform me when you are prepared.” He did not say anything further, likely being West’s pilot, aware of when to enquire and when to simply comply with orders.

Nolan disembarked from the plane and approached him after a duration of thirty minutes. Ryder observed that the man did not smile; he recognised that his human mate was responsible for provoking his wolf into a furious rage, resulting in Logan and Rowan’s intense anger towards him.

“He has become more composed.” I had to elucidate to him what transpired. Including Stella, he was entirely displeased, yet composed. He does not desire your presence with his mother.

Not particularly surprising, given what his son had just witnessed. Aiden, consumed by rage, had only ever witnessed Alphas behaving poorly, and now he was likely perceived as no different from Alpha Nathan in the boy’s eyes, a situation Ryder had been striving to prevent.

“I cannot be in Stella’s presence at this time, Nolan,” he declared unequivocally. “It will not conclude favorably.”

“I can place her with Logan and Brianna.” Ryder glared at him, unable to restrain himself; he did not wish to be separated from Brianna, despite Logan’s desire for that arrangement. “Fine,” he muttered, “when Brianna awakens.”

I will address it. There is little else we can undertake. I recommend administering a tranquillizer to mitigate that situation mid-flight; however, we are uncertain about the volume of blood she has lost.“

“I comprehend the rationale.” Ryder affirmed, “Relocate Stella and Carlos.” I wish to avoid her for the remainder of the flight.

He acknowledged with a nod and then proceeded to walk back to the plane alone.

Ryder took an additional ten minutes to return to the aircraft and informed the pilot, who seemed to be resting, to proceed with takeoff. He sat across from Luca, who merely observed him.

The girl lacks comprehension of Ryder.

“I am fully cognisant of her lack of knowledge regarding us.” I did not lose control.

“We all witnessed it.” Luca acknowledged, “It was Aiden.”

“Can you still detect her scent, or was your beast merely in a fit of rage?””
