The Alpha’s Possession – Chapter 111

Bandages

I remain the present Luna, Daisy. “It is my prerogative to be present here for the time being.” The woman was gazing directly at her, which felt somewhat unsettling, to be candid. It appeared as though she possessed knowledge that Daisy lacked, yet she was reluctant to disclose it.

My progenitor? She attempted to divert the woman’s gaze from her.

“In the cells, still alive…for the time being,” she expressed her annoyance to Daisy.

“At present?”she enquired with trepidation.

“Indeed, he attempted to murder you.” I am genuinely astonished that he remains alive. I presumed Joe would have dismembered him by now. It appears the man possesses some self-control, after all.

Daisy expressed to the Luna, “I do not wish for him to perish,” and she refrained from doing so. Although Daisy did not comprehend the reason for her father’s sudden hostility, she did not wish for his demise and desired to understand the rationale, yet simultaneously, she preferred to remain ignorant.

“Daisy,” her Luna tone asserted, “he attempted to murder you.”

Almost achieved success. If Ronan remained the Alpha in command, he would be deceased by now. Caelan is excessively accommodating regarding your desires in this matter.

“…I simply.” She was at a loss for words at that moment; had some of her dreams been actualised? Did she, at any moment, awaken and inform him that she did not wish for him to murder her father? Her thoughts were exceedingly nebulous. She was uncertain about the distinction between reality and illusion.

She had been raised within this pack, was well-versed in the pack laws, which were instilled from an early age, and understood the severity of the punishments imposed on wolves for their transgressions, contingent upon the nature of the offence.

Few individuals engaged in assaulting or attempting to murder their relatives. Harming one’s own family ultimately inflicts pain upon oneself, and to kill a family member results in profound emotional severance, which is exceedingly agonising. Although she had not experienced it herself, she had witnessed some of her schoolmates endure it during rogue attacks. To voluntarily impose such suffering upon oneself was virtually unprecedented.

She was unable to comprehend it, yet she recognised his love for her. She possessed numerous positive and remarkable memories.

Indeed, circumstances altered somewhat following the birth of their first child, Rose and him. At that time, she was nine years old and somewhat marginalised.

However, he never harmed her; he merely became more attentive to his daughter with his mate. When she turned 11 and her younger sister was born, she became somewhat neglected, engaging in conversation only when she initiated it, although he remained consistently kind, ultimately leaving her to herself. She observed from the periphery as the four of them constituted a cohesive family unit, while she remained an outsider; this was undeniably painful, yet there was nothing she could do to alter the situation.

She consistently obeyed instructions and fulfilled her role as a dutiful daughter, despite experiencing feelings of isolation and exclusion. She had been excluded when they went shopping or dining together, left alone at home, or departed without informing her, resulting in her returning to an empty house.

She never voiced her grievances, felt remorse for mentioning it, wished to spare them from discomfort, and instead focused on her academic pursuits and artistic endeavours, attempting to disregard her emotional pain. Propelled it downward and outward. Over the years, she had learnt to spend time with her school friends, as it was significantly easier to manage her thoughts when fully engaged. She consistently occupied her days with various activities, ensuring she had plans to socialise or study with her friends in the pack-house library after school, on weekends, and during school breaks.

Neither her father nor her stepmother appeared to be concerned; her father only occasionally enquired about her whereabouts. Daisy consistently completed the chores assigned by Rose, striving to be a dutiful daughter to the only mother she had known, and did so without grievances.

In contrast to her two sisters who frivolously indulged, they were obligated to complete their chores.

Daisy desired the happiness of everyone, including herself. She had consistently possessed all the necessities. Despite having clothing, sustenance, and shelter, she appeared to receive significantly less affection and attention than her younger sisters. They were indulged, excessively pampered, she recognised, never lacking in anything, and perpetually receiving new possessions. She now recognised that she was considerably more pampered than Daisy.

Daisy did not hold them accountable; they were offspring of a completely Bonded pair, and she served as a perpetual reminder to Rose of his former Mate, who had seldom acknowledged her after the age of 12.

Daisy distinctly remembered the day when significant changes occurred in the house. She was preparing dinner with Rose when she accidentally cut herself with the knife. Rose turned, gazed down at her, and with a faint smile remarked on her clumsiness with a gentle chuckle. She then kissed the small cut, promised to fetch a band-aid, but failed to return.

Mason arrived and entered without knocking, enquiring about her condition. She had displayed the minuscule laceration, now devoid of blood, and he had felt content. Neither he nor she was able to locate Rose within the house. It appears she exited and did not return.

Subsequent to that day, Rose grew increasingly aloof towards her, exhibiting a reluctance to engage, and nothing Daisy did appeared to satisfy her.

Daisy extricated herself from the recollection and positioned herself upright on the bed. She could conceive of nothing that would incite her father or his wolf to oppose her; it all seemed fundamentally erroneous to her.

Dr. Maurice entered and examined her shortly thereafter, stating, “I dislike having to patch you up repeatedly, Daisy.” “No further disturbances from you, young lady, understood?”

She merely nodded, despite the fact that it had not been her responsibility for the majority of her visits to this hospital or while under his supervision. She was capable of comprehending him. He examined her injuries and removed the bandages, delicately probing her throat with his fingers, causing her to involuntarily flinch. It remained agonising.
