Brianna had departed, leaving her solitary; she entered the bath to unwind and contemplated her day while gazing at the ceiling. She contemplated all that had transpired since the man entered the store in Colorado and attempted to enchant her, pondering that as well. She had been increasingly irritated with him, and his attempts to charm her only intensified her anger.
How could she transition from being exceedingly irritated with him to simply climbing into his bed upon their next encounter? She did not fully comprehend that, but ventured a conjecture that it pertained solely to the Mate concept.
Brianna informed her that she was his Mate and was bonded to him, whatever that entailed.
The man had pursued her across the globe, and his wolf had rewarded her for departing from them. She smiled to herself, reminiscing about her thoughts of running away once more, solely to provoke his punishment again.
The man appeared to understand precisely her preferences. Bit her lip and contemplated his true preferences.
She was already aware that Nolan was an exceedingly dominant individual and sensed that she would eventually discover the extent of his dominance. Initially, she had not been permitted to make contact with him, despite her desire to do so; however, she refrained until he granted permission.
Contemplated whether she could reciprocate that favour, considering how he would respond to her demands, and quietly chuckled at the notion of him disliking it and facing consequences for attempting it. She would simply have to wait and observe, she presumed. May frequently incur punishment from that man and his wolf. Chortled at the notion.
She pondered Nolan’s activities, sighed inwardly, and conceded that she already missed him. It was quite foolish, as she had only seen him an hour prior and had spent the entire day with him before Miguel’s arrival. Typically, she preferred solitude; however, following today’s occurrences, she perhaps required his proximity. She felt more secure with him present.
She closed her eyes, relaxed, disengaged her mind from all distractions, and concentrated solely on the comforting sensation of the warm water.
She opened her eyes to discover Nolan seated on the edge of the tub, seemingly observing her. He smiled at her as she gasped, “You startled me.” What is the duration of your presence there?“
“Not for long,” he smiled. “You dozed off in the bath.”
I suppose I did. “It has been an arduous day,” she affirmed.
“No bubbles remain,” he grinned at her, his gaze traversing her n**e form in the water, and emitted a low growl, to which she responded with a soft laugh. She appreciated that growl and now understood the reason behind his ability to produce it.
“Either I am entering, or you are exiting, darling.” He smirked directly at her. “Your decision.”
Stella gazed at the bathtub. He would not be able to accommodate himself in this tub alongside her. “I suppose we cannot both fit.”
“We will in my tub,” he grinned at her, then stood up, retrieved a towel for her, and wrapped it around her as she exited the bath. He drew her close, elevated her chin, and gently leaned down to kiss her tenderly and slowly. She encircled his neck with her arms and pressed her body against him.
He withdrew with a subdued growl, stating, “Ryder will kill me if we continue this, especially with Logan in the suite.”
“What is the reason?”She gazed up at him with a knowing smile, aware of the direction it was taking. “It is merely…”
“Wolves possess exceptional auditory capabilities.”
“What?””
“Logan and Brianna will hear us.” “I must abstain, not that I desire to, Stella.” He let her go. “Come on, to your room; I need to dress you.”
“What if I choose not to?”Stella mocked him.
“Oh darling, do not provoke me; I shall truly receive a reprimand,” he grinned at her.
Stella frowned slightly, as his smile seemed to convey sincerity. “Is that true?””
“Indeed, we possess distinct legal frameworks.” The primary rule: obey the Alpha’s directives, or face consequences.
“Oh!”She contemplated this, realising she had not fully grasped the extent of the impending changes. “
Is it mandatory for everyone to comply with Mr. Wood’s directives?“
“You may refer to him as Ryder or Alpha, and indeed.”
“What is the rationale behind Alpha?”“She enquired with curiosity as she proceeded to her room.”
“As the Alpha Wolf, Ryder governs the Pack to which we belong.”
“Do you consistently adhere to instructions?””
“Primarily,” she observed Nolan nodding. “Sanctions can be rather harsh, but do not concern yourself with that.” Ryder is just and an exemplary Alpha; his pack holds him in high regard, and we all respect and adhere to his regulations.
Stella descended onto the bed clad solely in her towel and gazed up at him. “Brianna?”She understood that Brianna would not comply with Ryder’s desires, outright refusing, lacking the inclination, and likely unwilling to do so in the future.
Brianna operates under distinct rules compared to you and me. Numerous issues require resolution in that context. “It will take some time.” She observed him exhale heavily and recognised his expression of sadness as he settled onto the bed beside her.
