She exhibited no difficulty in revealing that, yet all other aspects appeared to be concealed by her. Only Nolan could discern her internal emotions.
“Highly probable,” he informed her, elucidating the arrest of his movers and the pressing necessity for her assistance. He specifically required her to initiate a video call, enabling the officers to authenticate her identity.
She expressed clear amusement at his predicament, conveying a sense of satisfaction regarding his situation. “That is a dilemma, but it is not my concern, is it?” Ryder suppressed a sigh, finding amusement solely in his companion’s failure to fulfil his request. “Brianna, please,” he articulated evenly, maintaining composure in his tone to conceal his irritation at her lack of assistance. He informed her that he possessed the direct number for the police officer in charge.
“I am uncertain if I am capable of that.”
Caused him to shake his head, uncertain if she was capable of that. Certainly, she could take approximately 10 minutes; she either intended to manipulate him or simply did not wish to engage at all. Exacerbating his irritation.
“You dispatched individuals to my residence without authorization,” she reminded him.
Ryder suppressed the profound sigh that sought to escape him. Luca emitted an amused snort from the adjacent couch, clearly attentive to their discussion.
Luca enquired of Ryder whether he should proceed with that action. Luca believed it was an unwise decision, yet Ryder, as expected, disregarded his opinion.
As the Alpha, he desired her and Logan in his pack, thus he attempted to assert control over the situation and began to orchestrate it. He now recognised that he should not have acted as he did, but this realisation came only in hindsight.
“That is technically theft, what you…” Her words abruptly ceased mid-sentence as he detected a sound of cracking and shattering, followed by Brianna’s frantic voice screaming, ‘Stella,’ which propelled him to his feet. His gaze shifted to his phone screen to ascertain whether the call remained connected. Something was amiss.
Heard the cacophony of tires screeching and car horns blaring. He perceived Brianna’s voice becoming more distant as she cried out in agony, and he suddenly experienced a sharp pain in his right knee.
“Brianna,” he shouted into the phone, already aware that she was no longer in possession of it; the sound he heard was her phone striking the ground, mirroring the anguish he felt. He was certain she had sustained an injury. He sensed fear surging within him. Aiden was mentally disturbed, disliking the fear in her call for Stella and the subsequent pain in her cry.
“Up,” he bellowed to Luca and Enzo as he proceeded towards their vehicle. She was last observed at the store, and Nolan had not communicated any alternative locations, making it the most probable destination. Activated the speakerphone and listened to her roar.
Both she and Layla are present for Nolan. His heart began to race; they were in peril. There would be no alternative justification for her to emit such a roar.
However, why did she enquire, “Why is he absent?”He growled with anger; the man had been instructed to remain with them at all times. Where was he? If Brianna needed to emit such a roar to capture his attention.
“I am contacting him now,” stated Enzo. They all utilised the stairs, employing their wolf speed unrestrained and unnoticed to reach the car far more swiftly than waiting for the lift.
He experienced intensified pain radiating through his leg; although they were neither Marked nor Mated, he was acutely aware of his suffering. Her suffering was genuine. “She is injured,” he exclaimed abruptly, realising he was not in possession of the medical kit.
“There is traffic; one could have been struck by a vehicle.”Luca articulated on his behalf.
Ryder heard the sound of tires on the road and horns blaring; his eyes widened in concern for her injuries. No medical assistance was available in this vicinity. “The medical kit,” he berated himself.
“Understood.” Luca was retracing his steps towards the suite. Ryder overheard her conversing with a woman who indicated she would summon an ambulance. His foolishness in forgetting to collect the med kit resulted in a waste of precious minutes that should have been spent driving to her, as he awaited Luca’s return to retrieve it and bring it back down.
The unfortunate individual possessed the rental car keys, necessitating their wait in the hotel’s subterranean parking facility.
Luca served as the Medic on all excursions, while his uncle, Dr. Daniel, was the pack’s physician. He had instructed Luca extensively in medical knowledge to assist with emergencies during their absence from the pack.
Luca returned and threw the medical kit at Enzo, who was still in motion. He appeared indifferent to the fact that he was employing wolf speed in plain sight of any humans present as he unlocked the car and entered.
Brianna shouted Stella’s name again and subsequently began enumerating details about the car, instructing Nolan to proceed. She would be alright; she called for Logan, who must have been with Nolan, wherever he was. “It appears Stella is in distress,” he murmured, although he remained displeased that Nolan was not present with her.
She likely would not have sustained injuries or experienced pain if he had been present.
I heard Logan’s anxious voice as she informed him that her knee was dislocated. The boy retrieved her phone by following instructions precisely, seemingly without hesitation, likely due to their proximity to the device. He was comprehending everything distinctly, fortunately.
It is unsurprising that his leg ached; her voice resonated clearly over the phone as she stated, “Stella has just been abducted.”
Heard Enzo’s terrified gasp from the rear seat, and Luca cursed while manoeuvring through traffic. He was aware that Enzo had attempted to contact Nolan, but the latter had not answered and was unlikely to do so, presumably pursuing that vehicle on foot.
