The Alpha’s Secret Mate – Chapter 103

Home

“To what destination are we proceeding?”Molly enquired, preventing herself from collapsing face-first into the snow. A trace of her illness persisted subtly, manifesting as an urgent compulsion for her body to either sit or recline continuously; however, she resisted this urge and persevered.

Colton created something for you during your absence. Now that you are awake and in good health, I believe it is an opportune moment to present it to you, as your prince is not currently present.

Molly sighed and entered the small cabin. The air was instantly infused with warmth from the blazing fire, enticing her to nestle on the couch with a cosy blanket and an engaging book. If only she had brought some comforting items from the palace to enhance her cabin.

She would not remain. Jayce would forcibly return her to the castle if necessary. She could not fathom the consequences for Kylie if he discovered her presence, alive and well. Nevertheless, she appreciated the cosy ambiance of the cabin, adorned with Naomi’s books and decorations on the dark wood. It was pleasant. Molly longed for a space like this to claim as her own.

“Sit by the fire; I shall return shortly,” Naomi remarked without turning to her. Molly positioned herself and extended her hands to warm them. The air was infused with the aroma of cinnamon and spices as she inhaled deeply. Truly delightful.

Upon her reemergence, she grasped a substantial bundle. Molly rose. “Oh, this is excessive.” Colton should not have encountered any difficulties-

“He did not; the majority of this consists of unwanted remnants.” We produce numerous items here due to our ample spare time. Much of it remains unutilised, yet he had this created for you.

Naomi placed the stack on the table and retrieved a leather belt. “You may wear it around your hips or waist.” It is designed to secure your knife to prevent loss.

Molly grasped the leather and examined the design more closely. It featured vines and delicate flowers intricately embroidered in a charming pattern that elicited a smile from her. “Did he have it crafted specifically for me?”

Indeed, he observed you conceal the blade in one of your pockets and realised you would injure yourself if you persisted. “Or tear all of your garments.” Naomi caressed her cheek. “Colton is a virtuous man.” Individuals attempt to exploit his benevolence, yet he will sever ties with anyone who oversteps boundaries without hesitation.

Molly acquiesced and secured the belt around her waist. “He is a commendable individual.” I understand your admiration for him as a leader. Were more men in leadership akin to him.

“I observe that your prince possesses a considerable temper,” Naomi remarked, raising her brows. “He lacks the slightest patience, unlike Colton.”

Molly felt an immediate compulsion to defend Jayce. It was unjust to be evaluated by individuals who were ignorant of his experiences. Throughout her life, she had faced judgement from those who made no effort to understand her. “He is a man of few words, yet he is certain of his desires.” I believe he is intelligent and possesses effective leadership qualities; others merely underestimate him.

“I heard his father declines to provide him with his own pack.” Naomi began to fold the winter garments she had retrieved for Molly.

“I possess no knowledge regarding such matters; I apologise.” “Maids do not engage in royal affairs,” Molly stated with patience. The woman chuckled softly.

“Do not appear so strained!” I was attempting to ascertain the veracity of the gossip. Naomi stated, “The king is a despicable individual, thus I would not have been astonished if he had denied his son something so vital for a prince.”

Molly pursed her lips and traced her fingers along the belt. It seemed inappropriate to speak disparagingly about the royals, despite their mistreatment of her. Molly had remained steadfastly loyal to the kingdom for years, and the possibility of anyone from the palace overhearing Naomi made her somewhat anxious. What if they believed she was criticising them as well?

Molly expressed her gratitude, saying, “Thank you for all of this, truly,” as she swiftly collected the bundle in her arms.

“You are most welcome, my dear.” “Feel free to visit at your convenience,” Naomi remarked as she accompanied her. Molly exhaled and quickly traversed the path to her cabin.

She nearly relinquished all her belongings upon discovering Jayce already in her bed, asleep.

She would never acclimatise to the sight of the slumbering prince, so serene beneath the warm covers. Had she mistakenly entered another room? Molly surveyed her surroundings and noticed her cloak by the door and an additional pair of her boots against the wall. This was undoubtedly her room—perhaps he was the one who had entered incorrectly. Surely, Colton must have provided him with a separate accommodation.

Quietly, she removed her boots to avoid disturbing him and proceeded to store the clothing she had received. In truth, it was overwhelming. She was aware that they would be departing soon, rendering much of the winter attire unnecessary; nevertheless, it was a generous gesture that imbued her with a warmth surpassing mere physical comfort. Despite the unkind individuals, they were endeavouring to create a sense of home for her here.

"Alpha Prince, stop this madness! Can’t you see all I want is to leave this place, to be free of these suffocating walls and your overbearing presence? Do you think that just because fate bound us as mates, it gives you the right to claim dominion over me and this palace? You’re mistaken—horribly mistaken. You may call yourself a Prince, but your crown means nothing here. This is my domain, and the only place you’ll ever remain is beneath me, forever shackled by your arrogance and blinded by your pride."
