The Lycan’s Queen – Chapter 152

Handsome

Khanyi secretly admired him. Although this “Quasimodo” was dressed somewhat exaggeratedly, he danced very well. Since coming to this country, she had only danced with him. Judging by her professional eye, his dancing level could only be considered above average among amateurs, while this man’s skill was close to professional. Only a partner with equally excellent dancing skills could bring out her best state. She could unleash all the explosive power and passion contained in her delicate body in this Latin-infused, rhythmically strong dance.

“You dance beautifully!” Beneath the mask, “Quasimodo” had a pair of sparkling green eyes. “My name is Max; what’s your name?”

“Aren’t you Quasimodo?” she bit her lip and chuckled lightly. He shrugged, shaking his head helplessly. “A mysterious princess who doesn’t want to reveal her name.”

“You dance very well too. The steps of the English Royal Tango are fast and slow, and the rhythm is hard to master. It’s a pity your robe covers it all.”

He let out a hearty laugh from behind the mask, just as he was about to conclude this splendid dance, he accidentally stepped on the edge of his robe, causing both of them to tumble down. Fortunately, at the most critical moment, he twisted his body to land first, while Khanyi, tightly held by him, fell somewhat awkwardly against his chest.

“I’m sorry; I was too careless.” He struggled to get up, helping Khanyi to her feet.

“It’s fine, are you hurt?” She heard a dull thud on the floor just now and was a bit worried about his condition.

He bent down to rub his knee and waved his hand at her. “I’m fine.”

Khanyi let out a long breath; the small commotion they caused had settled down. However, she saw his tall, slender black figure slip in through the side door. He had already taken off the mask, his light golden hair slicked back neatly, a high nose, and deep-set ice-blue eyes. The moment he appeared, he didn’t need to be dressed up; he was always so dazzling. He didn’t look around, quickly walking toward the terrace, clearly searching for her.

“I’m sorry, I have to go…” She suddenly felt a bit flustered when “Quasimodo” suddenly grabbed her hand. Khanyi turned to look, only to see that beneath the ugly mask, a pair of clear green eyes held sincere intent. Just as he was about to speak, the midnight bells rang, followed by the sound of fireworks. The huge flower ball above the dance floor burst open, showering golden fragments and petals everywhere. The people in the grand hall began to cheer. Khanyi widened her eyes, wanting to hear what he was saying, but amidst the noise, she couldn’t catch his words. Out of the corner of her eye, she caught sight of the tall, handsome man in black being surrounded by several women in various costumes. She hurriedly tried to pull her hand away from his grasp, but he pulled her closer; his strength was too great, easily wrapping her in his arms.

“It’s midnight; is the princess going to disappear and get into a pumpkin carriage? But you are Snow White, not Cinderella.” This time, she clearly heard “Quasimodo’s” words.

In an instant, her mask was removed by him.

“Quasimodo” froze. Her face was completely exposed to him; she was a girl with black hair and black eyes. She had a delicate and beautiful face, soft and refined features, and two fluffy braids adorned with jasmine flowers, which were her own hair. The dark eyes revealed a shy expression. From his astonished expression, it was clear that his surprise was no less than hers.

“I’m very sorry.” He sincerely apologized, his voice a bit hoarse, handing her the silver eye mask.

Khanyi took it, hurriedly putting the mask back on, tugging at her skirt as she turned and ran toward the terrace.

“Turns out to be a princess with black eyes.” “Quasimodo,” draped in a black cloak, stood in the center of the dance floor, his green gaze shooting straight through the holes of the ugly mask, staring blankly at the fleeing figure of “Snow White.”

He slowly removed the mask from his face, revealing his true appearance bit by bit. Khanyi did not see that beneath the ugly and bizarre mask of “Quasimodo,” there was a strikingly handsome face with defined features, thick eyebrows, a high and straight nose, and thin lips that seemed to reveal a hint of restraint. Yet, in his deep-set eyes, there sparkled a brilliance like starlight.
