“To be candid, I am uncertain,” she sighed. She would not deceive him; she was uncertain and genuinely perplexed about the situation at this moment.
He gazed up at her, furrowing his brow, observing her for an extended, silent interval. “That man expressed his desire for us to become a family, comprising you, me, and him, united.”
It was Brianna’s turn to frown now, “When did he do that?”“She inquired.” She had not heard Ryder articulate that.
“When you entered with Aunt Stella and informed her, he desired only me, not you.” He stated that it was untrue and that he desired both of us.
She exhaled audibly; it was evident they had conversed during her absence in the Stella, and she had overlooked something. “What additional information did he provide?”“She enquired of him.”
“That he will not remove me from your presence.”
Brianna had previously heard Ryder articulate that statement. This was not the first instance he had expressed that sentiment; “That is good to hear,” she acknowledged. If Ryder had informed Logan of that, he was unlikely to retract his promise, as it would probably result in the boy accusing him of dishonesty.
He may have genuinely intended not to take Logan from her; however, she could not fathom him desiring to leave the boy in the human realm with her, nor did she wish to revert to a state of invisibility within a pack. Negative, not once more. Continuously colliding with others and being accused of not paying attention to her surroundings.
She had reached her limit with that.
She and Layla would ultimately return to their original state, isolated, residing in a room solely for themselves, evading everything, once again entirely inconspicuous. She experienced pain at the mere thought of it; they were entirely opposed to that. Could not endure that once more. It resulted in an exceedingly solitary childhood, adolescence, and adulthood.
She would likely need to negotiate an agreement with the man. She understood that he would desire Logan to be within the pack, as his child would be more secure there. Or at the very least, he would believe that to be the case.
Contemplated how he had even recognised her identity.
What was her significance to him? If he had discerned the solution, how did he do so? Brianna understood that he was incapable of detecting her scent, as no one could. It was incomprehensible to her. She exhaled deeply and seated herself, recognising the necessity of dining with him, if only to negotiate a custody arrangement regarding Logan.
She gazed directly at her son, who was once again agitated. “What is your desire?”“She enquired of him.”
“I do not comprehend,” he said, frowning at her.
“Do you wish to become acquainted with him, your father?” Relocate to cohabit with him? Those words were painful; however, he possessed the right to reside within a pack. It was the typical manner of existence for wolves.
“I am uncertain.”He nonchalantly shrugged.
“You may wish to consider that,” she suggested.
“Isn’t it what he desires?”Logan asserted.
Brianna affirmed, “I believe so.”
“We reside in Colorado; where does he reside?””
“In Florida,” she replied succinctly.
“That is a considerable distance from our residence,” he remarked with a frown once more.
Brianna affirmed with a nod, “It is.” The man had proceeded to attempt to pack her house and relocate it to his Pack. His behaviour was not only exceedingly rude but also arrogant. It was exceedingly strange.
“May I observe the appearance of a Pack?””
“Indeed, it is highly probable.” She believed Ryder would not refuse the boy’s request, as it indicated the boy’s curiosity and potential willingness to join his Pack permanently.
“Will you attend?”She discerned the concern in his eyes.
He understood that she was unwilling. She had conveyed this to him.
However, the pack had retreated to the periphery of a human city; she believed she could remain there and secure an agreement from Ryder to ensure the boy’s return to her.
“I am uncertain how to respond to that, Logan,” she replied candidly.
“You are reluctant to.”
“Not especially, but I suppose if it were only for one day.” “I could endure it.” He gazed at her intently for another prolonged minute before enquiring, “Was it truly that dreadful there?””
This conversation was exceedingly difficult; it was quite distressing for her. He may not resemble her, but he could seamlessly integrate and thrive in that environment. What actions would she take if he did? She would be unable to extricate him from that; if they could detect his presence and he could be identified, he would likely thrive within the Pack.
“Exclusively for me, not for others,” she ultimately responded to him. “Frankly, Logan, you may find it appealing and assimilate well.” which is an action I have never undertaken.
“Are you concerned?”… regarding the other woman?”
Brianna sighed, aware that another woman would always emerge; she resented this reality, yet it had perpetually been the case. “There will invariably be another for your father, Logan,” she conceded, her voice betraying the anguish that she could not entirely conceal when articulating it aloud.
“However, he stated.”
“I am aware of what he conveyed to you,” she gazed at him with sorrow. “It is challenging.” He adores you.
