The Alpha’s Second Chance – Chapter 112

Offspring

She disregarded the two individuals and proceeded to the lift. Logan observed each individual in succession before gradually moving closer to her. Rowan must have informed him of their identity, or he deduced from their size that they were wolves. She believed he had not previously encountered these two.

Ryder would have informed the two about the lunch, or they would have been within earshot of their previous conversation, likely having stood in the corridor all morning adhering to their Alpha’s instructions. Observe her attempts to depart with his son.

She was not astonished to observe them in the hallway; she was merely irritated by their presence. However, he recognised that given his awareness of Logan, this outcome was inevitable.

Luca, the pack Beta, entered the lift with them just before the doors closed. Logan was clinging to her leg. “It’s alright,” she murmured, bending down to lift him up, feeling him embrace her. “I have very sharp claws,” she whispered, attempting to elicit a smile from him, while Luca’s gaze shifted towards her as she pressed the button for the 10th floor.

Heard him chuckle softly, “Me too,” he whispered in response.

Brianna suppressed a snort while avoiding eye contact with Luca; it was an implicit threat. Although she had never witnessed Logan’s claws, she speculated that if Rowan were conscious, he would have instructed Logan to convey it, and the boy complied. It thoroughly entertained her, although she recognised that it probably did not amuse Luca in the slightest.

He was unable to exert authority over her or Logan; he could project his aura to instill fear, yet he could not compel her to retreat. Perhaps she ought to inform Logan of that. It may alleviate his fear of the wolves, which was her intention. Although she had not encountered Rowan since this morning.

Not since Ryder’s wolf had asserted dominance over the boy and his wolf.

Luca exited the lift on the 10th floor and remarked casually, “This way, Brianna,” while his hand descended to the small of her back. Before she could react, Layla emerged, growling fiercely and fixating her gaze on him, declaring in a gravelly voice, “Don’t touch me.”

His eyes widened significantly, and his hand disappeared an instant later as Layla fixed her gaze upon him. She also noted that Rowan was growling from his position in her arms.

They were averse to being touched by another wolf, and while both recognised this, it was likely mere instinct on his part, as the pack Beta directing her movements. He would not have considered it, as it was poorly received by Layla.

His hands were elevated in a defensive, non-aggressive manner. “I apologize,” he remarked.

What is occurring? It was the voice of Ryder. He probably perceived the snarling and growling with his acute auditory senses and assumed there was an issue.

Luca retreated. “I merely placed my hand on her back to direct her, Logan, nothing further.”

Layla continued observing Luca as he distanced himself, remaining on the surface, while a faint growl emanated from her. She overheard him remark to Ryder, “I don’t believe he enjoys being touched.”

“Brianna, please compose yourself; he intended no harm or disrespect,” Ryder remarked as Luca departed down the corridor.

“He makes contact with me once more.” “I will sever his hand,” Layla growled, before withdrawing and relinquishing control to Brianna. She ran her fingers through Logan’s hair and gazed down at him. Rowan appeared to be absent as well; only Logan remained, gazing up at her. His wolf had likely responded to hers, reacting to the contact.

“It is acceptable.” She kissed the crown of his head and allowed him to recline against her, directing her gaze towards Ryder.

Layla had not once regarded the man, concentrating exclusively on the individual who had audaciously touched her.

Ryder exhibited a concerned expression, likely displeased by her wolf’s menace towards his Beta, as her intentions were unequivocally articulated. He was probably quite displeased with his son’s response to the pack Beta as well.

“This way,” he remarked, gesturing down the hall as she proceeded.

“Where is Stella?”“She enquired as soon as she entered the room.”

Heard him exhale before responding, “In Nolan’s room.”

Her gaze shifted to his, revealing her irritation at his words.

“Brianna is well; however, Aiden growled at her earlier for showing us disrespect, which frightened her.” Nolan is currently with her.

“Do they merely traverse the vicinity instilling fear in everyone, mother?”Logan enquired of her.

“Negative, offspring.” I do not possess that capability. It was an accident, similar to the present situation, when Layla and you snarled at Luca, my Beta.
