The initial change was the focus of Vesta and Talia’s activities. Their brains had succumbed to sanguinary fervour. She desired to pounce on the Alpha before her due to his appealing scent of orange and whisky. Her mouth salivated once more, like it had before.
Nevertheless, she was unable to consume her companion’s blood. She could not extract anything from him as she had realised he did not belong to her. She was devastated, however she declined to exhibit her emotions.
Jason observed Talia’s retreat. She planned to dash to the opposite side of the clearing; if successful, she would evade the group.
“Halt!” She had already escaped, precisely as he had anticipated. Talia sprinted for around thirty seconds before reverting to her human form. She may potentially kill numerous innocent individuals if she remained in her wolf form. The initial change had depleted all of her vitality and vigour.
She experienced vertigo and fatigue. Upon departing the territory, she resolved to engage in hunting.
She had no destination, yet she could reside alone in the woods as long as Vesta accompanied her; yet, Jason’s entrance evoked memories of the events from that night. She resisted the need to weep as she trudged despondently on her quaking legs.
Gradually, her vision blurred as she descended to the ground. Until the formidable Alpha intervened, lifting her into his hug before she fell to the earth.
“Did you not hear me?” Did I not instruct you to cease? He enquired while gazing at her flushed visage. Talia endeavoured to open her eyes, feeling at ease in her partner’s arms.
Her head rested on his chest, allowing her to hear his heartbeat. What caused his heartbeat to be so quick, as though he were frightened?
“I have no reason to cease,” Jason heard Talia’s murmur as he felt her bare breasts against his. Expletive! He was becoming aroused. His hand intertwined with her hair, grasping it tenderly. As his arm around her slender waist, her petite visage tilted forward to meet his stare.
“Taste my blood,” he declared, his avaricious gaze shifting from her b****t to her lips. Talia was astonished by Jason’s proposal. What precisely did he articulate?
“I am unable to,” she replied, shaking her head.
“I will procure a replacement,” the young woman asserted, however the Alpha grimaced. What did she mean by “substitute”? Would she sustain herself on the blood of another man? With those sombre reflections, Jason’s demeanour soured. Talia sensed him elevate her bare legs and firmly encircle them around his waist.
“Nothing can replace me in your life,” he murmured, gazing at her crimson lips with need as his substantial hands grasped her hips, holding her securely. She concentrated her attention on him while encircling his neck with her hands.
“Proceed,” one of his hands gently guided her to his neck, where he urged her to savour his blood. He internally lamented as Talia’s lips grazed his sensitive mark.
Lamba pressed his neck into the softness of her lips, anticipating her canine teeth to pierce his flesh, yet Talia appeared startled. If she sank her canines into his neck, she might unintentionally mark him. It constituted a significant risk.
She continued to gaze at his designated area, suppressing her need and enduring pain. It was agonising to be in proximity to your mate yet unable to claim him.
“Execute it!” Jason persisted, longing for it. However, Talia bit her lip, weeping miserably on his shoulder. The Alpha grasped her hair once more, pulling her forward to his face, enjoying her tear-stained crimson cheeks. His heart raced upon encountering her imploring stare.
Talia shut her eyes with a pained groan as she felt his sharp teeth penetrate her marking site. What was he engaged in? He excavated more till he identified the location. Talia groaned loudly as his canines pulled out of her skin, then he kissed and sucked her tender skin.
“Take note of me!” Jason guided her back to his neck. The young woman, engrossed in ecstasy and anguish, was unaware when her wolf bit into her mate’s neck, indelibly marking him in his soul and eternally solidifying their tie. She sealed the wound with her tongue. Jason tightened his grip on Talia’s trembling, heated form, exhaling in pleasure. He was perplexed at the extent of the pleasure derived from the marking.
Their connection intensified until they merged into a singular entity.
When Talia had finished tasting his blood and branded him, Jason’s eager hands let her body fill his arms. Her eyes were closed as she strained to take a breath.
She was fatigued, yet she could feel herself in a possessive hold that was bringing her someplace. She: blinked, her eyes open to find Jason. He drew her up even higher, causing her to wrap her arms around his neck.
“Where are you taking me?” She wondered, not looking anywhere except at him.
“Back to the pack house. Who told you, you can leave?” He lifted his brows in a challenge but was unable to intimidate her. Had she forgotten about his commitment to catch her if she tried to leave?
“You don’t want me,” she reminded him. Returning to his world was futile since he didn’t desire her.
“I don’t want a mate,” he reminded her.
“Are those items identical?” She enquired. The Alpha ceased movement and directed his full focus towards her.
“I do not require a partner, but I do need a surrogate.” Our contract remains valid and will not be terminated until you provide me with a puppy.
“I have not altered my decision,” he stated softly, his eyes focused on her as she rested against his chest.
“Does that suggest we will be together for a year, as you indicated?” She asked, elevating his heartbeat with her naivety. His body was ablaze due to her actions.
“Indeed, merely for a year,” he cleared his throat and continued walking. Talia grinned while nodding her head. The Moon is evident. The Goddess permitted her to stay with her partner for a year, irrespective of her role as a surrogate.
Talia preferred temporary acceptance over rejection; she desired to relish her mate’s warmth without appearing avaricious. It sufficed for her, as she had never expected anything more from her existence.
“And even if I had been aware of this from the outset…” Talia raised her gaze upon realising he was providing the response she had interrupted earlier on stage. Jason ceased his movement to gaze down at the angel in his embrace. Her large eyes were inquisitive and exquisite.
“I would have selected only you, no other woman,” he affirmed, gently kissing her lips. Talia shut her eyes, surrendering to him.
