The Alpha’s Second Chance – Chapter 96

Transverse

Received a multimedia message from Ingrid, featuring a photograph of the moving truck’s logo, which I gazed at in astonishment. Blue Cold Moving Co, with the Packs logo displayed in the lower corner, featured an image of a black lake illuminated by a rising moon. The phone number and address at the bottom of the logo contained Blue Cold Pack details, followed by the phrase printed in black capital letters: owned by Wood Industries.

What was occurring?

Sent a thank you message for the information. At that moment, she was uncertain about her next course of action. She could confront Alpha Nathan Avery without significant difficulty. However, Ryder Wood himself was unaware of certain secrets she harboured, prompting her to bite her lip and contemplate whether Logan remained a secret at all.

Had Ryder followed her to her residence and subsequently decided to enter, he would have encountered photographs of Logan, likely recognising his own eyes.

To ascertain her residential address, however? He must have discerned her true identity as a Dieng, a name that would appear in his Packs database.

“Damn,” she murmured; she could not confront Ryder Wood, a lawyer in his own right, and a straightforward DNA test, which she anticipated he would demand, would confirm Logan as his child. Even in the human realm, he would be permitted access to the boy. It would probably be a chaotic, public confrontation.

Alternatively, he could approach the Wolfen council and assert that she had prevented him from claiming his heir, failing to inform him about the child, and an Alpha asserting his claim over an heir from a rogue female would render her defenceless.

The Wolfen council would confer upon him full rights to his son and heir, and if he was relocating her belongings, to his Pack as well; it is probable that this was occurring, as he was already planning to assert his claim over the boy. It was insufficient that she had to endure his new mate; he was likely to employ the Wolfen council and the Wolfen laws to compel her and Logan to reside within the pack, and she was certain he could, as she was unaffiliated and possessed no rank or status whatsoever.

Her human realm would be disregarded.

Alpha Nathan may be her optimal choice at this moment, as she recognised that it would not only be Carlos arriving, but also Ryder himself along with the entirety of his Alpha Unit, coming for her son.

He clearly recognised her as a former member of the pack. Her actual surname is Dieng. It was the sole method by which he could have located her residence. Her passport and credit cards utilised for her arrival were also linked to Dieng, enabling him to track her as effortlessly as Nolan had tracked Stella.

She glanced at the clock; they were likely already in the country, having recently arrived, and could very well be at this hotel, knocking on her door at any moment. Although she questioned his ability to ascertain her location and recognised that he could not simply roam the corridors in search of her scent, such an approach would be ineffective.

However, it was entirely plausible that Carlos could already detect Stella’s presence, or that any of those men could persuade the woman at the front desk to divulge her room number. This was unsatisfactory. She was equally uncertain regarding how to address the situation.

They might have directly reserved accommodations at this hotel, ensuring all exits are secured; that is what she would do. There were four individuals, and although she was undetectable to them and could potentially pass unnoticed, with Rowan now exposed, it was improbable that Ryder would not be compelled to his offspring. Furthermore, Stella would not evade Carlos, who would be tracking her with all his heightened senses: hearing, sight, and smell.

She could employ Stella as a diversion to escape, but that would be unjust to the woman. She chuckled at the notion of abandoning her to the wolves.

Directly among the wolves. She sighed, realising she could not proceed and would have to wait and observe.

Ryder’s Perspective

Ryder was on the verge of collapsing and succumbing to slumber in his hotel bed. He had not slept at all during the flight and had been awake for nearly 30 hours, resulting in extreme fatigue. He required rest to ensure mental clarity for the following morning’s plans to retrieve Brianna, Logan, and Stella.

Did not wish to be an irritable, surly individual. that would vociferate and rant fervently.

That would not advance his position in any way. He needed to be composed and tranquil; Brianna was unlikely to desire any interaction with him, and he would have to compel her to engage.

Although he intended to proceed with caution. Luca was correct.

He required diplomacy in relation to her.

His phone was ringing, and frankly, he preferred to keep his face buried in the soft pillow and disregard it. He heard its persistent ringing tone and scowled at it while blindly reaching for it with his hand, aware that it was charging on the bedside table at that moment. He would likely have better success retrieving it if he actually opened his eyes and focused on his actions. However, I was exceedingly fatigued.
