Alpha’s Betrayal – Chapter 55

What is your current status?

Talia observed the other pack members who were smiling and bowing respectfully as they traversed the living room.

The full moon and the marking ceremony occupied all members of the Sothis Star Pack. Talia’s heart raced upon witnessing their jubilant expressions. They had already acknowledged her as their Luna, but Talia had not yet reached a choice. She experienced depression. However, she was once again attempting to design a solution regarding which somebody could assist her.

At that moment, she conceived an idea, recalling that someone had informed her of his perpetual availability.

Talia gazed into an expansive, exquisite chamber moments later. Her glance flitted across the room before finally resting on the Alpha, who was intently engaged with his laptop while speaking with another individual. Lucas’s attention was directed towards his laptop screen while simultaneously conversing with a client who seemed to be in a critical predicament.

Talia observed that he was encircled by no fewer than six empty coffee cups, signifying that he had been exerting considerable effort. Had he not stated that he consistently burdened his brother with his duties, thereby allowing himself to be a free bird?

Talia chastised herself for believing his assertions. As the Alpha of the pack, how could he have evaded his responsibilities and obligations? The young woman opted to depart quietly.

“Halt, at that location, young one!” Talia halted upon hearing a deep tone, as the Alpha’s penetrating emerald gaze had already fixed upon the young she-wolf who had been observing his quarters. Upon turning around, she observed the Alpha positioned behind her, arms crossed over his chest.

“What is your desire?” He raised his eyebrows, certain that her visit was not in vain.

Talia offered a hesitant smile and stated, “The Wi-Fi password.” Indeed, this was not Jason, although his visage was indistinguishable from his! She needed time to acclimatise to the new tone and demeanour.

“XZGRAHAM,” responded the Alpha.

“Thank you,” the young female said, offering the Alpha a radiant grin before departing. Talia ambled, lamenting her decision to forgo Lucas’s aid. Although there was a possibility of provoking his irritation, she urgently needed to video chat with her mother, prompting her to pause and prepare to enter his room.

Upon coming to a stop, she realised that the Alpha remained in the same position. Why had he not returned to his room? Would he have anticipated her arrival to request assistance?

“What do you desire from me?”He enquired, exuding his formidable presence.”

“Assistance required.”

“With what?”

Talia expressed, “I wish to initiate a video call with my sister using my new laptop, but I am uncertain of the procedure.”

Lucas occupied the Talia sofa in the room, examining the new laptop. He had already linked it to their Wi-Fi. Talia occupied the adjacent sofa on his left, affording her a clear view of his actions.

“Are you acquainted with Skype?” He asked without making full eye contact with her.

“No,” she replied, however the Alpha exhibited no reaction, seemingly anticipating her response, but yet proceeded to ask.

What is the status of Facebook Messenger? He posed another inquiry to her.

“I lack a Facebook account, but my sister possesses one,” she elucidated. Lucas’s hand paused on the keyboard as he observed the woman who was oblivious. He averted his sight from her before she experienced discomfort.

You can utilise Messenger to initiate a video call with your sister. “I shall return shortly,” Lucas rose from the sofa and took Talia’s new phone, which she was unable to activate.

Talia observed his departure from the room; he had logged onto his Facebook account, granting her access.

She promptly initiated a video conversation to her sister, recalling the method due to Lena’s assistance.

Mabel had already seated herself in front of Lena’s phone to view her cherished daughter, Talia. Her eyes had filled with tears.

Talia smiled broadly at her mother, having resolved not to weep in her presence. She felt as though she had not encountered her in years.

“What is your current status?” Her mother asked, examining her face for any marks inflicted by Jason.

Fortunately, Talia appeared attractive.

I am an entirely competent mother. “I miss you all,” Talia alternated her eyes between her mother and sister. Lena had been the pillar of support for her mother since Talia departed from the pack.

I contemplate you incessantly. I regret allowing you to depart. Talia, disclose the truth to me. Is Jason mistreating you? Mabel asked, expressing concern for her daughter. She recognised her inability to intervene if her daughter consented, yet her maternal affection and apprehension gnawed at her incessantly as she permitted her to accompany their foe.

“Mother, he is a commendable individual.” He has never mistreated me. He purchased a new phone and laptop for me today. Talia displayed the new phone’s box to Mabel, stating, “I was able to video call you because of him,” after Lucas had taken her phone.

“Indeed?”  Are you conveying the truth to me? Mabel enquired, her attention focused on her daughter’s neck.

Talia affirmed, “Indeed, I am conveying the truth.”
