Alpha’s Betrayal – Chapter 49

Enough

The Alpha has managed the crisis and ensured the pack’s protection. “They are all returning now,” Jessica conveyed with a smile as they stood up from their seats.

“At last, I will be able to sleep soundly,” Lena yawned. Jessica chuckled and concurred with her as all the women returned to their rooms in anticipation of their partners’ arrival.

Talia re-entered her room but persisted in gazing at the door as she had previously. Was the issue genuinely rectified? They were vampires. She reclined and exhaled profoundly. She should not contemplate other matters as the time allocated to her by the Alpha is nearing expiration. He intended to brand her.

“Outstanding performance, gentlemen.”  All individuals should now obtain some rest. “We can address it upon awakening,” Jason dismissed the wolves who had aided him in his inquiry. All individuals returned to their residences.

“What a squander of time!”  “The information was fabricated,” David muttered as he trailed the Alphas to the pack home. His eyes exhibited indications of sleep deprivation; he longed to hasten to his room to lie in bed with his mate, yet he had opted to accompany the Alpha brothers and Beta Leo.

“However, it also renders me dubious.”  Indeed, the young male who informed us about the vampires may be youthful, nevertheless that does not suggest he fabricated the information,” Leo stated.

“How is it that we are unable to detect their scent whenever we conduct an investigation?”  The odour that radiates from the bodies of those living corpses typically reaches us from a distance. How will you elucidate their disappearance? David asserted that it was acceptable, and Leo concurred, but with some concerns.

“Enough,” Jason and Lucas, who had been strolling ahead and overhearing their discussions, stopped and turned to confront their Beta and Gamma.

“We might address that in our meeting.”  “Let us retire for the night,” Lucas proposed as they each proceeded to their respective rooms.

Jason, perspiring and odorous from his transformation and exertion, chose not to recline on the bed to avoid disturbing the female who was likely in a deep slumber upon it. He was too indolent to take another shower in the middle of the night, so he opted to sleep on the sofa.

Jason entered his room, left the lights off, and sat on the sofa. His long-standing practice of not turning them would invariably leave her exhaustedly sleeping in bed.

Even if he had want to engage in intimacy with her, she would have never declined; nonetheless, her vigour would have differed from that of their early marriage.

Jason scoffed cynically, resting his head on the sofa, fully comprehending that her exhaustion stemmed from her involvement with Nyla during his absence. His nails into his palm as he grasped his list tightly. The woman was indifferent about whether he returned or not. She did not await his return! Talia’s serene respiration captured Jason’s focus, yet it emanated not from the bed, but from another location.

Jason utilised his wolf’s eyesight to observe that the young she-wolf had been resting on the sofa across from him.

What was the reason for her sleeping on the couch? Was he experiencing hallucinations of her? Indeed, that was accurate. He inhaled deeply, maintaining his focus on her. She lacked a pillow and any blankets. Her elongated, sleek legs were revealed to his eager gaze, evoking memories of her previous nudity.

She had been resting on her arm, providing him with an excellent view of her breasts that had come into contact. What level of carelessness might this woman exhibit? Her negligent choice of clothes rendered her sleeping pose quite suggestive. Her sleeping posture clearly indicated that…

Had she been anticipating his arrival? What is the rationale for this? Jason positioned his knees together and rested his arms on the back of the sofa. The slumbering beauty was oblivious to the fact that the Alpha observed her in the shadows, somewhat to a sovereign, accompanied by his wolf.

Talia experienced her body being softly elevated, yet the familiar warmth enveloping her prompted a want to immerse herself deeper into it. It was an aspiration she had perpetually sought in her life. She had never experienced such affectionate caresses before.

No one else has before done this for her. What kind of dream was this? She was reluctant to awaken. Although she sensed her body being positioned on the soft bed, she had not yet opened her eyes. This was not a dream. It seems authentic.

Was it Jason? It was his mysterious scent. His warmth was unparalleled and could not be found elsewhere. It ought to be a fantasy. She approached the origin of this extraordinary sensation as the commanding caresses on her body accelerated her heartbeat.

“Should you not at least open your eyes?” Talia tightened her grip further on Jason’s shirt. He was aware that she was awake when he laid her on the bed. Upon realising she was not dreaming, the little she-wolf’s heartbeat quickened.

She tentatively opened her eyes to find his ravenous emerald gaze fixed upon hers. His hand rested on her waist, their bodies mere inches apart.

“Are you experiencing discomfort?” Talia whispered, her gaze ascending to Jason’s forehead, where she had struck him. It seemed to remain crimson.

Her hand ascended to tend to the Alpha’s wounded flesh, eliciting a gasp from him. Her delicate touch ignited a fervour within his body.

Why had he not cured himself? Or could he possibly not?

“Indeed, it is painful,” he conceded as his warm breath enticingly brushed across Talia’s lips. She shifted her sight from his forehead back to his eyes. The Alpha observed a veil of remorse in his female’s chocolate-hued eyes, which she promptly averted.
