Grandfather sighed wearily as he observed his grandson’s discontented countenance, then redirected his attention to his other grandson and his selection.
While everyone else was talking and laughing at Lucas’s remarks, those two remained conspicuously silent, as though they had lost their ability to hear and speak.
“Luna Talia, what is the matter?” He enquired. She had been gazing blankly at her supper, remaining silent to all.
“Nothing,” Talia compelled a smile, however her thoughts were a chaotic disarray. The subsequent remark from the elderly dude completely dismantled
“In accordance with a longstanding tradition, the marking ceremony is scheduled for the day after tomorrow, coinciding with this month’s full moon,” Jackson proclaimed triumphantly. As the pack’s elder, it was his prerogative and duty to declare the date of the marking ceremony; nonetheless, this proclamation had astonished Talia.
Jessica and Lena expressed their joy with exuberant squeals. Ultimately, the Luna would be appropriately received by the pack. Both females smiled while they congratulated Talia. However, she could no longer feign her smile; she appeared as if she had forgotten how to inhale.
As their peers gazed at them, Leo and David exhibited anxious smiles. Their hearts were burdened by the recent storm that had just arrived. Jason’s look clearly indicated this.
Talia was astonished that all decisions had been made for her without her approval. Her life would be irrevocably altered by the full moon, coinciding with her birthday. She could no longer endure sitting there passively like a doll, so she resolved to depart.
As she prepared to rise, Jason’s hand extended beneath the table to seize hers. He clasped her hand more firmly than she anticipated. If she had exited the dining room in the presence of the grandfather, he would deduce everything.
“If permitted, I would like to convey this splendid news to the remainder of the pack,” Jackson remarked, smiling at Talia, who had quickly concealed her genuine emotions. Prior to leaving the dining room, Grandpa gently rested his palm on her head.
Following the departure of the elderly male, a few seconds of harrowing silence enveloped the dining room before Talia swiftly extricated her hand from Jason’s grasp and exited. All eyes were fixed on Jason’s malevolent countenance. Lucas maintained his gaze on him, while all others lowered their heads in response to their Alpha’s fury affecting their wolves.
Talia exited the dining room expeditiously, then up the stairs to liberate her repressed emotions. It was precisely what she wished for. She desired to venture deep into the woods and then express all her emotions.
Despite the absence of an audience, she desired to express her profound sadness and anguish.
Upon recognising that it had recurred in her life, tears brimmed in her eyes. Throughout her life, she had never been solicited for her input. All of her significant life decisions were decided by others without her agreement.
She had never been able to articulate herself because her mouth had been sealed shut before she could open it. Initially, it was her father and the pack; now, it was Jason. He had perpetrated the same act against her.
“Wait,” Jason seized her hand and halted her in the corridor. He left the dining room moments after she did.
“Release me!” Talia endeavoured to push his hand away from her. Despite the numerous instances of unfair treatment by others, Jason was the individual she least expected such behaviour from. Despite having met merely twenty-four hours prior, she was profoundly wounded.
“Listen to me,” he seized both of her arms, exacerbating her irritation. Although she was diminutive and less formidable than him, her fury had escalated to a critical level.
“Release me!” She insisted, effectively extricating herself from him, then fleeing. She required solitude. She desired to distance herself from him. Jason encircled her waist from behind, then pivoted her, restraining her against the nearest wall just as she was ready to enter their room and secure the door. She was momentarily astonished, yet attempted to escape once more; nevertheless, he pressed his body closer to hers, entirely dominating her movement.
“Refrain from contacting me!” She emitted a growl.
“Silence,” he restrained her hands over her head, constricting her until she ceased her movements. Upon raising her gaze, she encountered tranquil eyes, as a substantial tear of fury cascaded down her cheek. Her Alpha blood was incensed, whilst his was as tranquil as a still pond. It was the first occasion Jason had observed another’s defiant gaze and refrained from speaking.
“Compose yourself,” he said while gazing intently into her rich brown eyes. Lamba manifested in Jason’s gaze as though responding to the summons of her defiant wolf.
“I will not mark you,” his voice was just a whisper, although Talia had evidently heard him. Ultimately, she opened her eyes, grasping his words. Did he genuinely intend his words?
No individual will be marked without their consent. Are you able to hear me? He elucidated for her.
Talia’s attention was captivated by the man articulating implausible statements. Did he suggest that he deceived his grandfather? His grave yet alluring look prompted her to blink languidly. The Alpha dominated the young female’s emotions, prompting her to relax her body. Talia offered a slight nod, permitting her last tear to fall. He slowly released her hands, however his body stayed in contact with hers.
