Alpha’s Betrayal – Chapter 23

Her as Luna

“Commence driving,” Jason instructed. Talia observed the driver as they commenced to depart. When she could no longer endure it, she turned to confront Lena and Luna Mabel, who were gazing at her. Talia wept as the car distanced itself from the sole home she had ever known.

Jason remained silent. Her lamentations and whimpers went unheard by him. He never glanced at her. Leo experienced sorrow for her.

“Luna,” Leo said, handing a handkerchief to Talia, still uncertain of how to address her. However, when Jason refrained from speaking, he opted to address her as Luna. Talia extended her shaky hand to clutch the offered handkerchief, but it eluded her hold.

Jason extended his hand simultaneously, resulting in their hands making contact as if they were clasping hands. Talia’s eyes locked with Jason’s. She noticed that she was grasping the hand of an unfamiliar individual. This marked the commencement of a new existence for her.

Following two hours of driving, Talia observed nothing but woodland as the vehicle neared the Sothis Star Pack’s area. They had been travelling on the roadway for an extended duration. She observed that the motorist was apprehensive about driving at a reduced speed. Talia was concerned that their excessive speed would result in an accident.

The splendour of the forest rejuvenated her spirit. Her sorrowful tears had long since evaporated, and she acknowledged that her life had transformed upon entering Jason’s territory. No, in fact, her life transformed when the six-foot-three Alpha entered her existence, fixing his green eyes upon her.

Ultimately, her father had terminated all connections with her. She could hardly fathom his reaction had she disclosed her intention to serve as a surrogate for an adversary. She merely want for her sister and mother to thrive in her absence.

She endeavoured to disregard the unpleasant ideas swirling in her mind and focus on the present. Her uneasiness intensified at the prospect of the car nearing the packhouse imminently. Infiltrating another pack’s territory was sufficiently intimidating, yet the male adjacent to Talia had remained silent for the past two hours.

She found it absurd that she had merely gazed out the window for the entire journey while the Alpha beside her remained utterly silent.

Could he have expressed himself any more succinctly? He rendered the young woman so uncomfortable that she spent the majority of the journey contemplating leaping from the moving vehicle. Although she did not look at him, she sensed his attention upon her. Was it merely her imagination, or were her nerves becoming her irrational?

“Greetings to the Sothis Star Pack, Luna,” Leo stated with a cordial smile. Throughout the duration, he was observing his Alpha and Luna via the mirror. He deemed the new alpha pair of his pack charming. His exhilaration was so profound that it seemed to reach the heavens now that their pack finally got a new Luna.

Talia expressed her gratitude by saying, “Thank you.” Upon observing his grey eyes, she blushed. He was remarkable! His curly hair attracted attention. If Leo had not been present in the vehicle, she would have executed her intention to leap out. Leo occasionally engaged her in conversation, introducing himself, discussing his companion, and generally facilitating a more comfortable atmosphere for her.

Jason devoted the most of his time to handling calls that appeared to be related to his business. He also devoted some time to messaging an individual. Whom had he been conversing with? He seemed to be significantly engaged.

“Did you elucidate all details to Jessica?” Jason queried, returning his phone to his pocket.

“Affirmative, Alpha.”  As per your directive, no strangers are present in the packhouse, and no pack members will enter without authorization,” Leo stated.

Subsequently, the Alpha resumed texting an individual when Leo had received a brief nod in acknowledgement. Talia contemplated the subject of their discussion. What is the reason for the exclusion of other pack members from the packhouse at this time?

“Alpha prohibits any males from seeing the Luna,” the Beta interjected. Talia gazed at Jason, whose exasperated eyes were fixated on his prominent mouth, Beta.

It was already late in the evening, and Jason had no intention of introducing Talia to the other pack members. He recognised that his pack members would respond to the announcement of his new Luna with unadulterated excitement and enthusiasm.

If they discovered tonight that she was his selected mate, none of them would let her any peace. Their inquisitiveness would merely vex him, prompting him to instruct Leo to request Jessica to dismiss the other pack members before to their arrival.

Following a strenuous day of conflicts and disputes, Jason desired merely a drink, sustenance, and a soothing bath. Leo encountered an irate snarl from his Alpha. The unfortunate driver recoiled. The Omega sought to avoid incurring the Alpha’s ire, although Leo restrained his voice with his palm.

“My apologies!”  Did I vocalise that? He feigned astonishment. Jason extended his hand to strike the back of the brown-haired male’s head. How audacious of him to behave arrogantly!

Greetings! “Do not strike me in Luna’s presence,” he said, rubbing his head and complaining. Talia was unable to suppress her laughter. Were these the identical vicious men who had nearly annihilated her entire pack and family? Talia’s soft, melodic laughter captured the driver’s attention. Leo beamed with pride; he had effectively elicited a giggle from Talia.

“Luna appears exquisite when she smiles,” Leo commented with a smirk at the Alpha, who was once more gazing at the young female. Leo’s remark sufficed to hush Talia.

“Kindly contact me, Talia,” she implored. She disapproved of his persistent use of the name Luna for her. She was simply a surrogate, and he would soon discover this fact as he was the Beta.
