The Alpha’s Second Chance – Chapter 84

Physical Contact

Ryder was somewhat intrigued by Terence’s presence, as his Mate Ella, who was due within the month, appeared unconcerned about the possibility of early labour and Terence potentially missing the birth. He was presently two hours away from his pack, and Ryder believed that if his Mate were nearing the delivery of their pup, he would prefer to be nearby in case of an early birth.

Terence exhibited an excessive level of nonchalance; however, that was his inherent nature. Nothing appeared to perturb him, not even in his current role as an Alpha, as he remained content to recline in his chair and converse as if life were effortless.

They all seated themselves at a table, and West dispatched his barman to procure food. This lounge reportedly had a fully staffed kitchen in the rear. He did not present them with a menu but ordered steaks for everyone, along with two large share plates of appetisers to enjoy while awaiting the main courses. Both plates extended across the table, evidently designed to satisfy the appetites of wolves.

They conversed about pack dynamics. West and Terence were courteous enough not to mention his ignorance regarding the existence of a son elsewhere in the world. Accompanied by a she-wolf that consistently masqueraded as human.

This was not the inaugural occurrence in the wolfen realm, and it was improbable to be the final instance in which an Alpha remained unaware of a child’s existence.

Alpha has engaged in numerous s****l encounters, and that possibility always existed.

My companion departed for various reasons as well. West’s former partner, Valeria, abandoned him a decade prior, returned to vow her allegiance, and subsequently departed once more, prompting West to pursue and forcibly retrieve her. They were content and mated again. The man appeared joyful with a puppy on the way.

Life does not always unfold as intended; some wolves are unfortunate in obtaining their desires promptly, if at all, and must struggle fiercely to achieve their goals.

In contrast to Enzo, his Delta, who merely smiled at his girlfriend Betsy upon her arrival at the pack-house on the first full moon following her 18th birthday, she smiled directly at him and declared, “Mine.” “Approach and bite me,” she said with a half-hearted giggle, and Enzo complied, having just turned 18 himself. Merely a few months her senior.

That fortunate individual had been with his Mate since they were both 15, and subsequently received her as his Goddess-Gifted Mate when she turned 18. They had exclusively been with one another, never desiring anyone else, not even during their teenage years without wolves.

Both West and Terence appeared to have researched Brianna and were highly impressed by her. She was not only immensely wealthy but also renowned, well-liked, and respected in the human realm.

West was intrigued by how Ryder would draw her away from the human existence she had established.

He observed that she had distanced herself from the wolfen realm and seemed to embody humanity in multiple aspects. It was noted that Valeria exhibited difficulty in adapting, having spent an extended period in the human realm. She was resistant to authority, accustomed to autonomy, and frequently responded with an arched eyebrow, asserting ‘not going to happen’ before departing. Operated according to her own principles.

Ryder exhaled audibly and gestured with his head in disapproval. He was unaware, stating, “Gently so, and probably humanly in public.” Luca responded with laughter, “My suggestion was a grand, extravagant human wedding replete with numerous human photographers and similar elements.”

West and Terence believed it was probably a prudent idea. The disappearance of a designer of her calibre would likely initiate a global search in the human realm.

Ryder concurred; the wedding must accommodate both human and wolfen attendees, given her identity, which would pose a significant logistical challenge.

He anticipated that Brianna, already established in the industry, would manage the situation; if not, he was confident that Siennia’s background would suffice. Originated from an affluent family, and according to reports, her sister’s wedding had been extravagant. Thus, it is probable that this was a situation with which Stella was familiar.

Tia arrived accompanied by Thomas, her mate and the parents of Nolan and Enzo. She immediately focused her gaze on her son, Nolan, and proceeded directly towards him.

She was a tall, highly skilled woman, an Elite warrior in his pack; consequently, Thomas followed her nonchalantly. She was extremely irate and had already berated him over the phone, showing no signs of calming down.

Nolan stood up with a deep sigh and murmured, “Here we go,” to himself.
