“It doesn’t matter. As I said, once people lose their curiosity, even if they have the chance to take pictures, they won’t bother. My goal is to remove their curiosity.”
With that, Sophia got out of the car confidently. Tobias and some elderly patients grew anxious, worried that she might get hurt. However, Sophia remained calm as she stepped forward.
“Dr. Smith, these people are here to take pictures of you.”
“Dr. Smith, don’t let them get to you. If they dare to touch you, we’ll protect you.”
“That’s right! If a fight breaks out, we won’t back down! You’re our boss, just say the word, and we’ll take them on!”
Her patients eagerly offered solutions, making Sophia laugh. She walked up and saw that the clinic was completely surrounded. Some were taking pictures of her personal belongings, and even more ridiculously, several people were livestreaming, as if they were just waiting for her to show her face.
Sophia stepped forward and calmly looked at them. Before they could speak, she spoke first:
“I don’t care why you came, but I’ll give you the courtesy of not kicking you out today. However, we must set some ground rules. You can do whatever you want, but under one condition—you cannot interfere with my work. My job is special, and many of my patients are in critical condition. They can’t afford delays. That’s why I’m showing up today—so you won’t disrupt my work. Other than that, do as you please.”
Seeing that some of them were about to speak, Sophia quickly added, “Waylon, Brother, bring out the green bean soup and sour plum soup we prepared. We don’t want anyone getting heatstroke while taking pictures of me.”
Most of the people who had come had their own agendas. Many were bloggers who ran gossip accounts, eager to break the news first since no one had yet revealed Sophia’s appearance. If they were the first to capture and post a picture, they’d have a competitive advantage. Livinus naturally attracted attention, and Sophia had already become a hot topic thanks to Olivia. If anyone managed to get an exclusive shot of her, their post could easily reach hundreds of thousands of shares.
The internet was no longer what it used to be. Whether on forums, Instagram, or Facebook, creating high-traffic content had become increasingly difficult. These bloggers were desperate.
Some were streamers, and live broadcasting had an even more direct impact. Even though they weren’t well-known, several streamers had already drawn in tens of thousands of viewers.
Bryce was a famous Instagram blogger, known for covering entertainment scandals and high-society drama. Wherever gossip existed, he was there. He had come to the clinic specifically to get a photo of Sophia. With his reputation, he wouldn’t be as rude as the others—he hadn’t even raised his camera yet.
He had to admit, he had dug up countless celebrity scandals and covered countless wealthy family feuds. He had seen high-profile inheritance disputes in the United Kingdom and Canada, but nothing had surprised him as much as this moment—seeing Livinus’s girlfriend, the ex-wife of Henry, was nothing like he had imagined.
Back when Henry’s divorce was publicized, Bryce had written an article encouraging people to follow the drama. Like most others, he had assumed Olivia, though somewhat pure-looking, wasn’t particularly stunning. If Henry was willing to divorce for her, it must have meant his ex-wife wasn’t attractive.
But reality was far from what he had expected. Her looks and figure were absolutely out of this world.
She had perfect bone structure and exquisite facial features—her face was flawless.
Her body proportions were excellent, clearly belonging to someone who exercised regularly. Her muscles were toned, and her posture was upright, making her skin look firm and youthful. She was in amazing shape.
This kind of beauty wasn’t just passable in the entertainment industry—it would be top-tier. It was as if Goddess had meticulously sculpted her by hand, instead of casually molding her from leftover clay after losing a mahjong game. Her beauty was breathtaking.
And yet, she had been cheated on.
At that moment, Bryce no longer wanted to interview Sophia. He wanted to interview Henry instead. Was he blind? How could he give up such a wife for Olivia, an 18th-tier actress who rose to fame by stirring controversy?
“Hello!” Bryce handed Sophia his business card. Since she was busy treating a patient, she didn’t take it. One of her patients read it out loud for her.
“Hello.”
Bryce stared at the serious-looking woman treating patients. She looked like she had stepped out of a manga—he had only seen her profile, yet even that was flawless. He hadn’t even taken a photo yet, but he already wanted to save her image as his wallpaper.
“May I take a picture of you? Don’t worry, I will blur your face and won’t reveal your name.”
Bryce was still a professional journalist.
Truthfully, Sophia hadn’t done anything wrong and shouldn’t have to endure this harassment.
Sophia smiled and shrugged indifferently. “Do as you please. Even if you blur my face, others will still spread my photos and information. But I appreciate your thoughtfulness.”
