Over the past few days, because of the old master’s treatments, Sophia only opened her clinic during the daytime. She wanted to see more patients while she could, making her busier than ever. Even her patients were worried about her and urged her to rest more.
Waylon, with his gentle face, was a magnet for children. Kids particularly liked him. Sophia, not holding back, taught him all the pediatric massage and diagnosis techniques she knew. Over time, Halliton Waylon was able to handle cases independently. When Sophia wasn’t around, he could manage at least half the workload. Though not yet perfect, he was still a great help to her.
Bright came for treatment. Every time he visited, Sophia personally performed bee therapy and acupuncture for him, even though Halliton Waylon could have done it instead. However, Sophia insisted on doing it herself—after all, he was Nancy’s man, and he deserved some special care.
When Sophia rolled up Bright’s pant leg, she saw that his body was covered in bruises, clearly pinched marks.
She frowned. “Did Nancy do this?”
“She’s always rough. It’s nothing.” Bright said softly.
Seeing him like this, Sophia sighed. People often said that every force had its counterbalance, but she couldn’t tell who was controlling whom in this relationship.
“Where’s Nancy?” she asked.
“Her family set up a blind date for her. She probably won’t come today.” Bright said it so lightly, as if it had nothing to do with him.
Sophia felt a bit stifled hearing that and couldn’t help but sigh. That night, she mentioned Bright to Livinus, who simply said, “He’s not someone to be underestimated.”
“Oh?”
Back then, Livinus had been eyeing a particular company’s stock, manipulating the market for a takeover. But just when he was about to succeed, someone intercepted the deal. He was determined to acquire the company and launched an investigation, only to find that the rival was an insignificant, unknown firm. In the end, they discovered that the person behind it was actually the company’s owner.
“It was Bright?” Sophia asked in surprise.
“Yes. He’s been talented since childhood. But, of course, his brilliance was always overshadowed by his disability, to the point where people forgot his abilities.” Livinus leaned back, lips curling. “Bright is no ordinary man. Otherwise, how could he have caught Nancy’s eye?”
Sophia was startled. “How do you know?”
Livinus raised an eyebrow and laughed. “Do you think your husband is just an ordinary man?”
It had been a long time since they had such a lighthearted conversation. Although the crisis at Scott Corporation was still unresolved, Livinus’s attitude gave Sophia a strange sense of confidence. She felt a weight lifted off her heart. Leaning into his embrace, she chuckled softly. “Of course not. My husband is no ordinary man!”
Livinus wrapped one arm around her and kissed her from her forehead down to her lips. Each kiss sent shivers through Sophia’s body, a mix of comfort and an irresistible pull toward indulgence.
She responded to him. Sophia rarely took the initiative, and her sudden responsiveness made Livinus’s deep eyes darken even further. He quickly countered, holding her tightly in his arms. Their kiss grew deeper, filling them both with warmth.
It had been a long time since they had been intimate. Ever since Sophia confirmed her pregnancy, Livinus had been restraining himself, careful not to overdo anything for the sake of her health.
Now, however, enough time had passed.
“Can we?” His voice was hoarse.
Sophia whispered, “It should be fine now.”
Livinus removed his jacket, revealing his well-defined muscles. They had been holding back for too long, making it hard to resist. He lifted her onto the desk, sliding down her shirt slightly to reveal her smooth shoulder. Her hair draped lazily to one side, adding an alluring touch.
Livinus was mesmerized. He quickly claimed her. Even though he was careful with his movements, he was still anxious.
“I’ve never been this nervous before.” He rasped. “Do you think the baby feels like they’re on a swing when we do this?”
Sophia laughed. “Why don’t you ask them?”
“No way! When they’re born, I’m going to spank their little b**t and ask them why they interrupted their parents’ fun.”
Sophia smirked. She gripped the edge of the desk, her body trembling as they slowly rocked together until they reached the peak.

Both Sophia and Livinus were in good physical condition. As a doctor, she knew that, given their health, once a day wouldn’t be a problem—as long as it wasn’t too intense. Lately, for the baby’s sake, Livinus had indeed been gentler, but he was also incredibly enduring! One session could last half an hour to an hour—who could handle that? Because of this, Sophia repeatedly reminded him to be restrained during pregnancy.
