Destined to Rise – Chapter 220

Pent

Sanders Daxton was quite capable, and since the Sander family used to run a martial arts school, many people in the underworld had some connection with them. Lawson managed to suppress the restlessness in his heart. He wasn’t afraid of Sanders Daxton; once people leave, their connections fade. If he went off to join the army, relying solely on a sister in Sablewick  wouldn’t uphold the Sander family’s martial arts school’s reputation. The brothers who used to follow Sanders Daxton had scattered, and Lawson wasn’t afraid of the Sander family at all.

His judgment was correct; she was beautiful and bold. Most young girls would probably be scared to death in such a situation, yet she could still speak.

Lawson smiled, his round face looking even more cheerful, while Marshall and the others were so scared they didn’t dare to breathe.

After leaving the train station, Sanders Wren’s expression still hadn’t relaxed.

“Sister, is this Lawson a gang leader?”

Whitaker Scarlett had prepared her stun gun earlier. If Lawson didn’t listen to reason, she would have to take the risk and stun him first. She didn’t consider the repercussions afterward; she just wanted to get out of the whirlpool she was in. A beautiful woman was like porcelain; in the same collision, only she would suffer… Whitaker Scarlett didn’t want to fight, but she wasn’t afraid of trouble.

During the day, Lawson and his gang could only engage in petty extortion at the train station. As long as they couldn’t abduct her in public, Whitaker Scarlett had ways to maneuver.

Of course, it was also because Sanders Wren was skilled that Whitaker Scarlett had the confidence to maneuver.

Before the conflict erupted, Sanders Wren mentioned her brother Sanders Daxton’s name, and Lawson really let them go. Whitaker Scarlett could see clearly that there wasn’t much respect in Lawson’s eyes; he wasn’t afraid of “Sanders Daxton.”

But what about the strict crackdown? He should be afraid of that.

Sanders Wren didn’t know how to introduce Lawson. They all said he was formidable, cunning, and she had never dealt with him before.

“Anyway, he’s not easy to deal with. I can help you today, but what will you do when you’re alone at the Sablewick  train station in the future?”

Sanders Wren was considering this matter. She didn’t hesitate for long and quickly came up with an idea: “How about this, every time you come, send me a telegram. If I’m not home, I’ll ask two senior brothers to pick you up. They will accompany you for as long as you stay in Sablewick until they see you off on the train back to Harborfield .”

Whitaker Scarlett thought this was a silly plan, but she didn’t outright refuse:

“I’ll compensate them for the time lost from their work.”

Just consider it hiring two temporary bodyguards. Whitaker Scarlett was quite open-minded; earning money was for spending it. In fact, having two people to help was also good. There were many places she, as a young woman, found inconvenient to go alone, but with company, she could go.

Temporarily setting aside the matter of the gang leader, before Whitaker Scarlett could ask about the Pent Special Zone, Sanders Wren took the initiative to share her previous observations:

“Most of the houses are still under construction, the streets are a mess, and some factories are hiring, supposedly opened by Hong Kong people. People near the Special Zone are losing their minds trying to squeeze in… If you’re looking for ways to make money, I think it’s not as lively as Sablewick .”

What the Special Zone has, Sablewick  has too.

It’s all about doing business; why go through the trouble of squeezing into the Special Zone? The border pass is hard to get, and entering and exiting the Special Zone is particularly inconvenient.

Why squeeze into the Special Zone?

Of course, it’s to seize the opportunity.

Whitaker Scarlett’s heart was burning; she wished she could sprout wings and fly into the Special Zone to show her skills. There were houses being built everywhere; how much money could be made from that? Demolition brings money, construction brings money; not to mention being able to take on construction projects, even dealing in building materials could be profitable… Her capital was still too little; she couldn’t get involved in these money-making avenues.

Sanders Wren thought the Pent Special Zone was chaotic and saw no business opportunities, while Whitaker Scarlett smiled:

“The Pent Special Zone has a lot of people; where there are people, there is money to be made.”
