Chloe wanted Sophia to join her for a high-society lady’s party. Events like these were frequent in the socialite circle—sometimes hosted by magazines, luxury car brands, or organized as regular gatherings among insiders. Today’s party was hosted by the Nancy’sfamily.
Nancy had also planned to invite Sophia, but since Chloe had said she would do it, Nancy let it slip her mind. Chloe, busy with her own schedule, only remembered at the last minute while getting her hair and makeup done, so she called Sophia to join her.
There was a reason for this.
The beauty cream Sophia developed had become incredibly popular in the socialite circle. So popular, in fact, that many socialites had discarded their high-end makeup brands in favor of this beauty cream.
And who could blame them? What woman wouldn’t want a product that combined skincare and makeup into one step?
The cream simplified dozens of steps into just one: applying it evenly across the face with a brush to achieve both skincare and makeup effects. By the end of the day, skin remained hydrated and fresh, with no dryness—truly remarkable.
So, the popularity of the beauty cream was understandable.
Although it hadn’t yet spread beyond the socialite circle, its reputation there was already impressive.
This was why Chloe wanted Sophia to come and introduce herself, giving her a chance to promote her product.
They returned to the same studio for hair and makeup.
“Miss Sophia?”
Sophia smiled. “Clinton, you have a great memory.”
“Of course! A beauty like you—I couldn’t forget even if I tried.” Clinton winked.
Sophia laughed, and Chloe teased, “Hey, Clinton, you only compliment Sophia! What about me? I’m going to get jealous.”
“You’re beautiful beyond my words, darling!” Clinton replied with a grin.
Chloe laughed too. As Clinton was about to start applying Sophia’s makeup, she stopped him, smiling:
“Let’s just use the beauty cream, shall we? One step is all it takes.”
Clinton blinked. “Beauty cream? What’s that?”
Sophia explained, “It’s a cream with both skincare and makeup benefits. It replaces all pre-foundation steps and keeps the skin moisturized throughout the day without any dryness.”
Clinton was surprised; he hadn’t heard of anything like it before, which felt strange. As a makeup artist working with several magazines and often with actors, if a new product hit the international market, he’d be among the first to receive samples from brands for testing. Successful products often became popular through such promotion. There was no reason he wouldn’t know about a product like this.
And since when had technology advanced so far?
A single product that combined skincare and makeup? It seemed impossible.
Clinton watched as Sophia pulled out the beauty cream, examining it curiously. There was no logo on the packaging, but it had a luxurious design, its elegant blue bottle was high-quality yet distinct.
“Clinton, just apply it as you would foundation,” Sophia said.
Clinton nodded, excited to try it. He picked up a makeup brush, applied a thin layer of the beauty cream, and started blending it onto her skin. It was truly amazing. Even though he applied only a light layer, her skin seemed to glow with a pearl-like radiance, creating a highlighter effect. The cream’s texture was light, yet it smoothed out her skin beautifully. Even more impressive, there was no patchiness, and her skin looked plump and dewy—a perfect finish.
“Wow, this product is incredible! Can I try it out myself?”
“Of course,” Sophia replied with a smile.
Clinton, still skeptical, called over an apprentice and applied the cream on him. The apprentice’s skin was rough and uneven, with heavy dark circles from staying up late. Astonishingly, the cream seemed to adapt perfectly to his skin, giving him a healthy, pearly glow. Even more remarkable was the cream’s natural “beautifying” effect, as if it added a soft filter over his face, setting it apart from typical skincare products.
Clinton was shocked and, excited, asked, “Miss Sophia, which brand is this from? Can you recommend it to me? I’d love to try their other products.”
Sophia smirked. “Actually, I developed it myself.”
“What?” Clinton couldn’t believe it. He also owned a small skincare line sold on online platforms, with some products he had developed himself. But despite his experience, he had only made small progress in skincare, mainly focusing on makeup. Foreign brands were expensive because of the significant capital they invested in research and development, which justified the high price. But here was Sophia—a young woman in her early twenties—who had created such an incredible product. “Miss Sophia, you’re not kidding, are you? Did you really develop this?”
Chloe laughed, “Why would she lie? This beauty cream is sold in my salon, and it’s always out of stock!”
Clinton was genuinely stunned.
This product was groundbreaking! Sure, some American base makeup products simplified the makeup process to a single step, but their effects were nowhere near this beauty cream. Plus, this cream was particularly hydrating, even for very dry skin types.
It was truly remarkable!
Clinton suddenly felt that the beauty industry was on the brink of a major transformation.
If the beauty cream became mainstream, how would other makeup products compete?
“Miss Sophia, I’m in awe. You’re incredible! I have to ask, how did you create such a revolutionary product?” Clinton looked at her with admiration.
Chloe, smiling mischievously, pulled Sophia aside. “Our Dr. Smith here is a miracle doctor! This beauty cream is nothing—she can cure allergies, infertility, and acne. She’s amazing!”
“Really?” Clinton was now looking at her with newfound respect.
Sophia smiled. “Clinton, if you don’t mind, I can leave this bottle of beauty cream for you. And when I make a new batch, I’ll bring you more.”
Clinton had been wanting it but was too shy to ask. Who said only women wanted convenience? Men do too.
