The Alpha’s Possession – Chapter 56

Unmistakeable

Nonetheless, Wesson ought to be capable of recognising her. She was, after all, his daughter. “Dad!”She established a mind link with him to confirm that it was indeed Amelia present before them, ensuring both he and his wolf were certain.

“Depart, Daisy,” he stated bluntly, his tone devoid of warmth and sentiment.

Father, I implore you. “I had to depart,” she attempted to elucidate to him. She recognised that she had provided no forewarning of her intention to depart and had been unaware of her decision until it transpired.

“Then you ought to have kept your distance,” he retorted, and Wesson proceeded to depart.

She attempted once more to contact him, only to have his wolf pivot and snarl menacingly at her. Amelia gradually retreated from him; he was larger and possessed combat skills, having confronted rogues during border incursions, making him a formidable wolf in comparison to her.

She retreated to indicate to his wolf that she did not wish to engage in combat, even lowering her head slightly to demonstrate respect. However, to her astonishment and subsequent horror, Wesson abruptly lunged at her and bit her on the shoulder, tearing a significant portion from it.

Amelia howled in agony and, as soon as Wesson’s teeth were removed from her, she turned and fled from him. Wesson refrained from pursuing her and allowed her to escape.

Daisy and Amelia both lacked comprehension. What would motivate them to assault her? She had committed no wrongdoing; she was limping, impaired in her left front leg, with pain emanating from her shoulder and extending down her leg.

“Revert us, Amelia,” Daisy instructed her gently. It would be her shoulder, and there would be no limping or attempts to walk on it. The injury would inflict less pain in human form; Amelia experienced not only physical pain but also emotional distress, paralleling Daisy’s confusion regarding the recent events.

She sank down against a tree, blood oozing from her injured shoulder, causing her considerable pain. Her eyes brimmed with tears as she failed to comprehend his reply. What could motivate her father to assault her?

“Daisy?”She perceived Mason’s anxious voice emanating through the Mind-Link.

“Mason,” she wept, unable to conceal her sorrow regarding the circumstances.

“What is your location?” I am en route.

“I am uncertain,” she remarked, surveying her surroundings. She had not been meticulously monitoring Amelia’s movements, as they were expected to be secure within the pack. Not assaulted by a member of their own group. “Somewhere between the packing house and the northeastern border.”

Remain in that location. I pursue you.

“I require clothing,” she informed him.

He quickly located her and crouched down in front of her. “Goodness, Daisy, what transpired?””

She merely shook her head, unwilling to discuss it, while he was already observing the bite mark and the absent patch of skin on the back of her shoulder. He would arrive in human form swiftly, either bipedally or quadrupedally. He removed his shirt and assisted her in putting it on over her injury, apologising for the pain it inflicted. She merely shook her head, indicating it was inconsequential.

“Pack the hospital now,” he commanded, his authoritative tone evident as he grasped her right hand and hurriedly led her away. “Who did this to you?”“He enquired of her.”

“It is inconsequential,” she murmured, reluctant to disclose the reality of the situation.

“It indeed matters, Daisy.” It is unacceptable for pack members to assault one another. She recognised this while still in full Beta Mode.

Daisy remained silent, as speaking would only implicate her father. She walked alongside him, maintaining his pace, her hand clasped firmly in his, silent tears streaming down her face. She was unaware of her wrongdoing.

Amelia had retreated from Wesson to demonstrate that she posed no threat, indicating her willingness to depart, and had lowered her head in a submissive gesture. It was incomprehensible to her and her wolf.

Daisy was seated on the hospital bed in a gown, with one arm protruding from the sleeve, as the doctor and Mason meticulously extracted the shirt from her wound. It had adhered to her during the walk, and removing it had caused it to bleed anew.

Mason stood nearby, observing the doctor as he endeavoured to halt the bleeding and meticulously cleaned the wounds, which consisted of a complete set of wolf teeth marks on her left shoulder and extending down her back.

“When did you acquire that?”“He enquired of her.”

Daisy glanced back at him; his gaze was fixed on her back, her hair was styled to the right to avoid obstructing the doctor, and he was clearly observing her celestial features. He could only perceive the uppermost one and a portion of the second.

“Several years prior,” she replied succinctly. In all likelihood, he believed it was a tattoo; only she and Amelia were aware that it was not. He remained silent regarding the markings, likely driven by curiosity alone.

I must report this, Daisy. Who assailed you?He enquired once more.

She merely inclined her head slightly. “It is inconsequential.”

“Indeed, it does.” You will inform me. “Or you will inform Caelan,” he asserted bluntly. Daisy shut her eyes. Caelan would eventually discover the truth. “Could we please allow this matter to pass, Mason? You need not disclose it to him.” It is not particularly severe.

The door to the room swung open forcefully, revealing Caelan staring directly at her. Daisy could sense his presence and the palpable anger emanating from him without even opening her eyes. She was familiar with the sensation of his anger, having cohabited with it for two years; it was an unmistakable experience for her.
