Caelan inclined towards her ear. “What troubles you, Daisy?”His voice was gentle in her ear, his lips lightly grazing her ear, “Does this astonish you?”“
“Negative!”She responded succinctly; the pressing concern at that moment was that he still had one hand on her hips. The man had only ever touched her with the intent of s****l intercourse, and he was currently touching her. She recognised it for the second time today.
“You appear…uneasy,” he remarked with a hint of amusement, she perceived.
I require you to leave, Caelan. “I have a matter to address,” she said, her gaze fixed on the wall, unwilling to meet his eyes.
“Mm, I momentarily overlooked that,” he remarked, leaning away from her as his hand slipped from her hip, and he proceeded to walk away. “You may wish to refrain from opening the other drawers,” he remarked with evident amusement before departing and closing the door.
Her gaze instinctively shifted to the other drawers. He likely stated it intentionally. She may have desired her to investigate the contents of those other drawers. She was unwilling to acquire knowledge. She directed her gaze to the drawer he had opened, which contained feminine hygiene products. She would have to utilise one, despite not requiring it.
Retrieved one and closed the drawer, re-entered the bathroom, and applied it.
Detested the awareness that they were both present and could, if they chose, overhear all her actions. She cleansed her hands and proceeded back to the cabin. Both individuals were observing her.
Daisy averted her gaze, feeling increasingly uncomfortable under their scrutinising stares, and retreated into her seat.
“Do you require any additional assistance?”Caelan enquired, his tone still imbued with amusement to her ears.
“No, thank you, Alpha,” she whispered, turning her gaze towards the window. “At what time will we arrive?””
“A few hours remain,” Mason replied to her.
Daisy nodded and gazed out the window, silently praying to be spared from a severe bout of shivers while in their presence, whether on the plane or in the car en route back to the pack.
Allow her thoughts to contemplate her actions upon returning to the pack. She needed to discuss with Alpha Ronan the breach of her exhibition contract by Caelan and the associated financial responsibilities. She is currently unable to afford it. She had not intended to violate her contract.
Caelan had coerced her as well, thus he, the newly appointed Alpha, bore the responsibility and should be accountable for the expenses. However, she was uncertain about how to convey that to him. She is inconsequential within the group.
Possessed neither rank nor status within the pack. Attempting to hold her Alpha accountable for the violation of her contract was unlikely to yield favourable results.
Daisy envisioned herself once again beneath his ire. I was not anticipating it in the slightest. Alpha Ronan was presumably her most advantageous option; she preferred to engage with Alpha Ronan rather than Caelan, and it was Alpha Ronan’s endorsement that Caelan had disregarded, in any case. Allow the two individuals to resolve the matter.
Caelan’s Perspective
Caelan was aware that it was a falsehood, and he was confident that Mason was also cognisant of this fact. Caelan was unable to detect any blood odour. When Daisy abruptly rose from her chair, startling both him and Mason, all of his Alpha instincts became acutely heightened. Mason had been slumbering with his chin resting on his chest, emitting soft snores, and Caelan was fairly certain that all his Beta instincts had activated as well.
Caelan, conversely, had been seated, observing her as she slumbered in the chair merely four feet away from him. She appeared quite at ease in his presence. It was peculiar given their prior relationship. His gaze traversed her physique; she had grown quite tall, yet she still appeared capable of curling into a diminutive form.
Upon awakening and attempting to rise from the chair without tripping over the blanket, Caelan observed that her face appeared markedly flushed, and she seemed to be experiencing a severe panic attack. What is the reason? He exhibited considerable curiosity regarding it. Perhaps having a bad dream?
Her response to their gaze was predictable, especially considering the abruptness with which one rose from a chair, startling everyone present.
She practically shouted the word “Bathroom” at the couple, indifferent to who responded.
Her rapid escape had captured his complete attention; he had heard her utter a whispered expression of panic, saying “no” to herself. What is the response?
He contemplated. Approximately two minutes later, the exclamation, “Oh, thank the Goddess,” conveyed a sense of relief, which was notably intriguing in itself. Her expectations were unmet, prompting her to offer a prayer of gratitude.
He was completely captivated.
Daisy, he discerned, was genuinely embarrassed, and Caelan could detect the nervousness in her voice, even when conversing with Mason. This was peculiar for her. They could discuss any topic, having virtually covered all subjects, including Mason’s present s****l life. What could be so humiliating for her that she felt unable to discuss it with Mason?
