“That will not occur, Brianna.” He shook his head.
“I will not abandon my business, nor will I join your Pack.”
You may retain the businesses; they are performing exceptionally well. This will constitute a remarkable investment for any Pack.
I will register them and render them legal. You may establish one nearer to the Pack and receive personnel from within the Pack. Pleasant and secure, as it ought to have consistently been. The ones located on the west coast may remain operational under the management of your human staff. No alterations will occur.
“I decline, thank you.”
“I will not depart from Brianna… You will conform.”
“I will not be,” she retorted.
I observed him laugh and say, “Oh child, I believe you will be, as I mentioned.” I will render your life exceedingly uncomfortable until you comply. Not all of my men are present, and it has not escaped notice that another Alpha and his unit are surveilling your establishment.
Her jaw clenched. “I am a rogue, and I intend to remain so.”
“No, you will not be; you have family out there, other Diengs.” I am acquainted with a few of them and informed them that I encountered you at the Alpha meeting in Whistler. They were astonished by your rogue status and somewhat horrified as well.
“I am indifferent,” she retorted. “I have reached my limit; vacate my office and my store.” She was disinterested in discussions about others, a family with whom she had no familiarity, who had not offered assistance during her parents’ demise, and were likely present now solely because of Logan’s influence.
Nathan asserted, “No.”
“I will contact the authorities and have you apprehended for harassment.” Brianna directed her words at him with conviction.
He observed her jaw clench and declared, “I will escort you well before their arrival, Brianna,” he growled, clearly displeased by her intimidation; it appeared he could issue threats but was incapable of enduring one himself. “You and I will retrieve Logan and proceed to my Pack, or I will instruct my men to collect him in your absence.” I am aware of his current location; indeed, I suspect that my men are not the sole observers of the boy.
She abruptly lifted her head and observed him smirking at her, relishing the fear that coursed through her. “Do not threaten my son,” Layla snarled, fully revealing herself.
Observed as his wolf advanced and fixed its gaze upon her. His eyes mirrored Layla’s whiteness; a smile graced his face before his wolf subsided. Brianna, you will be returning home. This is the place where you and your son belong. You require protection, as I, your Alpha, provide. I will place the order.
Layla scoffed; she was reluctant to engage in a confrontation with him, as he resembled her. It appeared, “You are not alone, Brianna; neither is your wolf.” Your existence was probably devoid of enjoyment. Enter, and allow the Dieng elders to converse with you. I kindly request, once more. I will compel you, and neither you nor your wolf will appreciate it.
She was staring directly at him, seemingly to emphasise his point. She observed his eyes become unfocused, and shortly thereafter, there was activity on her balcony, accompanied by the chime of the store’s front doorbell. He gazed at her intently, retrieved his phone, and called someone, stating, “Capture a photograph of the boy as evidence and send it directly to me.” He then ended the call.
It took under 15 seconds for him to turn the phone and display a picture to her. Logan attended his friend Finley’s birthday celebration. “Up, Brianna,” he instructed as he rose. “We shall use your vehicle to avoid disturbing the boy.”
Brianna was displeased, yet she found herself unable to flee; a man obstructed her exit on the balcony, and two others stood just inside her office doorway, similarly impeding her escape. She doubted she could bypass the Alpha to reach her studio door, which would only lead her back into the store.
He intended to coerce her into submission to obtain his desires, should she fail to acquiesce, and fixed a glare upon the man. Expressing her complete dissatisfaction with the situation.
“It is for the best, Brianna; simply trust me,” he stated. He appeared to be attempting to comfort her. She harboured no trust in him whatsoever.
Rose and seized her handbag. She and Layla would not jeopardise Logan being captured by him or his associates.
The boy was their sole possession, and he possessed Rowan, not yet fully awakened, but this could compel his wolf to surface and transform him for the first time. She did not desire that; he was quite youthful.
“Withdraw your men immediately,” she commanded sharply.
He nodded and observed him signal his unit to retreat.
