The Alpha’s Possession – Chapter 26

Confrontation

His entire Alpha Unit observed him, contemplating whether he would permit it or not, he presumed. Caelan disregarded it and resumed composing his report when Hudson abruptly growled in his mind, ‘Amelia?’acquiring his attention. He understood his wolf’s desires. To ensure Amelia’s safety. She would have been present in the pack-house; he had never permitted her to acquire combat skills. It is not Luna’s responsibility to engage in frontline combat. If she were unable to fight, she would not desire to assist.

He exhaled deeply and attempted to establish a connection with her through the Mind-Link, but received no response whatsoever. Scowled and attempted once more, yet achieved no results. Hudson was mentally growling, ‘Locate her.’

Mason, where is Daisy? He enquired of his Beta.

His entire Unit was abruptly gazing at him once more.

“I am uncertain, Caelan; why is that?” I am not monitoring her; you never requested that I do so.

“Contact her,” he retorted, exasperated by the man’s response. He consistently knew the woman’s whereabouts. He observed as his Beta attempted to establish a Mind-Link with her; although Daisy might disregard Caelan following the incident, the absence of any connection with her felt peculiar. It was as if she were beyond reach. Nevertheless, she would not disregard Mason.

Caelan observed the man frown and subsequently shake his head. “It cannot connect; she is too distant,” he ultimately replied.

“Locate her immediately,” Caelan commanded.

Mason promptly rose and exited the room. His gaze shifted to his Gamma and Delta, who were both seated and observing him. “What?”“He snapped at them.”

“Nothing, sir,” they replied in unison, yet continued to observe him.

He was aware that they found it peculiar that he was searching for his ex-Mate, yet Hudson was tumultuously roaming within his mind; something was amiss. He believed she could not be in such severe distress, knowing Mason would have already rushed off to locate her. Therefore, wherever she was, she was probably safe.

Mason returned in under ten minutes, shaking his head. “She is absent, Caelan.”

What is your meaning? Is she absent? His voice exhibited an irate tone.

“Her room is vacant and has been tidied.”

Caelan rose, his ire kindled.

“Her car has departed, Caelan, either returning to Seattle or…” Mason left the statement unfinished.

Anger emanated from him now, “or?”“he uttered through gritted teeth.”

“Leader of Canada.” Did she not indicate that she would be travelling to Canada today?“

His entire desk was overturned, and all items were scattered on the floor; both Alex and Cole jumped aside. “Someone, please ascertain her location!”He bellowed at them all.

Exited his office to locate his father and obtain some answers. This was his responsibility.

Caelan had prohibited that woman from travelling to Canada, asserting that she would not depart from this pack, yet she disregarded his directive or openly defied him. Having potentially obtained permission from his father, he intended to ascertain which it was. Discovered his father in his suite with his Beta, Jonathon, Mason’s father; they appeared to be enjoying a drink together. Slammed the door and glared directly at him.

“Caelan, do you appear distressed, my son?””

“Did you authorise her departure from this pack?”He rebuked his father, an action he would not have taken the previous day.

His father gazed directly at him, “Whom are we discussing?””

“Daisy,” he shouted, “Who else could I possibly be furious about?””

“Son, she possesses a contract and has a flight scheduled for today; she is permitted to depart,” his father stated nonchalantly.

I prohibited it. He conveyed this to her personally last night, he stated tersely.

“Indeed, I did hear you.” However, that contract bears my signature. “It remains valid,” he asserted, maintaining his composure.

“It certainly is not.” I am now the Alpha; she has pledged her loyalty to me. “My order remains unchanged,” he retorted.

“Perhaps the girl was unaware of that, Caelan.”

I desire her travel itinerary. “You must be acquainted with them,” he insisted.

His father rose and gazed directly at him. “I am familiar with them, Caelan.” I coordinated everything independently. Allow it to pass, Caelan; she is content and in good health now.

“She will be included in this group, even if I must personally retrieve her.” Which flight? Which airport is being referred to?“he uttered with irritation.”

His father looked at his watch and remarked, “Already in the air, son; we departed an hour ago.”

Caelan’s fury emanated from him. “How could you permit her to depart in such a manner?” “You cannot ascertain her safety in that location,” he shouted, his fist clenched at his side. He yearned to strike his father, yet he understood it would merely result in an Alpha versus Alpha confrontation. Although his father may have resigned, he remained a formidable individual. Caelan had never endeavoured to confront him and was uncertain of his capabilities.

He turned and exited the suite in which he had been raised, forcefully closing the door behind him. He communicated with his Beta, saying, ‘Joe, procure my car and instruct my pilot to prepare the jet; we must proceed to Canada to retrieve her.’

“Understood, Caelan,” was the response.
