“Illuminate me, Caelan.” It may be attributed to various factors.
“He mated her, which is what transpired,” Caelan articulated, still incensed by his wolf’s conduct.
“Human or lupine form?”Mason enquired, returning to his seat and gazing at him, appearing neither surprised nor irritated.
“Wolf on wolf,” Caelan sighed. “Amelia did not resist, and I was unable to restrain him, unable to halt him regardless of my efforts.” Daisy appeared to lack control over Amelia as well,” he elucidated to his Beta.
“What are the next steps?”Mason enquired, reclining in his chair.
“I am uncertain.” I cannot effectively approach her regarding the matter. “Only the goddess knows what will transpire,” he remarked, shaking his head.
“It appears that Hudson would likely court her again,” Mason remarked with a faint smile, shaking his head slightly, finding the situation somewhat amusing.
“This is not amusing, Joe.” We are no longer friends. Hudson should not be interfering with her menstrual cycle. He should not be interested in that regard, and he should not be wolves, only mated to other wolves, if they were indeed Mates. Hudson should no longer be interested in Amelia. It has been a decade, for goodness’ sake. Move on already.
“It appears you have encountered a significant issue,” he asserted, leaning forward. “I can communicate with her on your behalf; please specify your message, and I will convey it and report back to you.”
“No,” Caelan replied, shaking his head. “I will simply let it go.” What is completed is completed. If Daisy wishes to discuss the matter, she should approach me.
“What is the status of Lydia?””
“What is her status?”Caelan gazed at him.
“Hurry, Caelan.” Neither you nor Lydia corrected Daisy on Friday regarding the two of you being Mates.
“Indeed, she expressed remorse regarding Amelia.” Caelan acknowledged.
“What?” Did you hold her responsible for this?“Mason’s voice abruptly acquired a harsh tone.” “Compelled her to apologise to you?””
“No.” Caelan retorted, incensed by his Beta’s tone. “I did not.” He inhaled deeply, composed himself, and attempted to relinquish the annoyance provoked by his Beta’s tone. He understood the reason for Mason’s sudden anger towards him. “I recognise that it was not her responsibility.”
Mason arched an eyebrow at him. That statement evidently surprised him significantly; Caelan actually conceded that something was not Daisy’s fault. Novel to both his and his Beta’s auditory perception.
“Alpha, rogues approaching the northern border, patrol section one,” his communication was interrupted by the border patrolman.
Caelan sprang to his feet, enquiring, “How many?”
Approximately two dozen Alpha.
Caelan established a pack-wide mind-link, stating, ‘Rogue attack, all alert North patrol 1,’ and promptly proceeded to the location, with Mason closely following him.
Hudson repositioned him immediately upon exiting. He observed the shifting concerns moving towards that direction, while women and children outside the rear of the pack-house entered for safety; everyone understood the appropriate course of action.
Not even in command for a single day and already confronted with an assault on the northern border, despite his awareness that the northern border was routinely vulnerable to incursions; however, this was unprecedented, as wolves were rampant, numbering more than two dozen, with combat erupting all around him. He commanded his unit, and all his warriors engaged in combat to repel the adversaries across the border, ensuring the safety of his pack.
The scene was chaotic, characterised by snarling, growling, and relentless combat, with his father and the former Alpha Unit now present to aid in the extermination of the rogues. It required over an hour to regain control, and upon assessing the aftermath, he realised he had lost the border patrolman and two of his younger warriors, with more than a dozen men severely injured and in urgent need of medical care at the pack hospital.
This day appeared to be unfavourable. Caelan, his Unit, his father, and the former Alpha Unit assisted the injured to the pack hospital, while a few remained to manage the deceased rogues, accumulating their bodies and incinerating them outside pack territory.
No remaining items were present. He had counted 35 deceased rogue wolves and observed half a dozen escape. Allow them to flee; he had wounded individuals to care for, and he could later assign trackers to pursue them and ascertain whether they posed additional threats to his pack and their origins.
As the Alpha, it was his obligation to visit the families of his deceased warriors and extend his condolences. Ensure that there was an individual present to care for the now mate-less she-wolf of one of the younger warriors, who was pregnant with their first pup. Weeping uncontrollably due to the loss of her Mate. Caelan could only hope that she did not lose the pup she was carrying due to the stress she was currently experiencing.
He was required to document the entire battle, including the injuries and fatalities, while also managing Lydia’s unexpected clinginess. She appeared concerned that something might occur to him, a change that had not manifested prior to his ascension as Alpha. Unusual.
He attempted to dismiss her, citing his numerous obligations and lack of time to engage with her. However, she erupted in tears and sought refuge in his embrace, compelling him to endure the moment. Telepathically connected with his mother to retrieve her ultimately.
His mother did precisely that; she requested Lydia accompany her to visit the families to ensure their well-being, a responsibility of a Luna, he recognised. He nearly intervened, but if he had, the girl would probably have become overly attached to him, so he allowed his mother to manage the situation.
