Scott Livinus kept a blank expression, responding only with a faint acknowledgment.
The next day, Sophia opened her clinic in the morning, and in the afternoon, Chloe and Nancy invited her to go shopping.
The three of them strolled around a luxury shopping mall for a while. Unexpectedly, just as they approached a certain boutique, they spotted Olivia, wearing sunglasses, shopping with Scott Henry.
Olivia was dressed in loose clothing and wore flat shoes, clearly looking pregnant.
“Tsk tsk! Look at her! Acting like she’s something special just because she’s pregnant. I wonder who she’s trying to impress,” Chloe rolled her eyes.
At that moment, it seemed Olivia noticed them. She walked over, holding onto Scott Henry’s arm, and touched her belly as she said:
“Well, well! Who do we have here? Isn’t this Sophia? You know, this store is quite expensive. Sophia, can you even afford it?”
Scott Henry looked embarrassed.
Sophia sneered. Some people just can’t help looking for trouble.
“Of course I can’t afford it. Unlike you, Miss Olivia, I don’t play the role of a mistress, living off other people’s money. You’ve got someone else’s man supporting you, giving you money to spend. Unlike Miss Olivia, I don’t have the talent to just spread my legs and have men throw money at me!”
“You…”
“What?” Sophia scoffed. “Are you trying to make a scene? Or do you want me to call some reporters over to expose you? Let’s see how much people admire Miss Olivia, the celebrity, once they know how disgusting you are in private!”
“You shameless…you!” Olivia stomped her foot, almost rolling up her sleeves to fight.
Sophia, smiling sweetly, took out her phone and said with a grin, “Here, let me start a live stream! Miss Olivia, what were you planning to do just now? Hit someone? Mistress attacking the wife? A headline like that is bound to grab attention.”
Olivia looked around and saw that quite a few people were taking pictures. Furious, she had no choice but to let Scott Henry pull her away.
“You just wait!”
“Alright! I’ll be waiting!” Sophia replied with a mysterious smile. “And I’ll return the same words to you, Miss Olivia. You just wait for me, too!
No one expected that in less than a minute, Sophia had already shut down Olivia and Scott Henry, sending them on their way.
Chloe and Nancy were thoroughly impressed.
Chloe exclaimed, “Wow, girl! You’re so strong! Even ten Scotts and Olivias combined wouldn’t stand a chance against you. How did you ever let them bully you like that?”
Sophia chuckled, feeling a pang of sadness as she thought about her past self’s sacrifices and patience.
“I was naive, thinking that tolerance would earn respect. But I later realized that people only take advantage of you the more you hold back. So, I decided not to tolerate it anymore. Anyway, we’re getting divorced. She stole my man—why should I hold back with her?”
Nancy burst into laughter, clapping her hands. “I love this side of you, Sophia! Who would have thought! Usually so quiet, but once you speak, you leave them speechless! I seriously underestimated you!”
Sophia couldn’t help but laugh. She hadn’t expected to encounter such a pair of jerks, let alone that they’d have such weak defenses. Just the threat of calling a reporter was enough to make them run. They want to keep things hidden, yet they still dare to go shopping in public.
“Honestly, though, Olivia really underestimates people. I’ll make sure the finance team sends you this month’s earnings from herbal bath packs and beauty cream sales. It may not make you filthy rich, but it’s enough for a bit of luxury. Buy yourself some nice clothes and make sure you don’t lose out on the mistress! Let’s piss her off!”
Sophia laughed at Chloe’s words, and with the little scene over, the three quickly moved on to another store to avoid attracting attention.
Fortunately, no photos of Sophia had surfaced online, and most people didn’t know she was the original wife. Otherwise, her life might have been much less peaceful.
After shopping around for a while, Chloe pulled Sophia toward the Chanel store, but as they approached the entrance, a black sports car pulled up.
The car looked like something out of a sci-fi movie—a sleek, low-slung supercar with sharp lines, crouching like a predator ready to pounce.
Most sports cars weren’t black, but this one had a particularly imposing presence.
Soon, the door opened, swinging upwards like the wings of a bat.
“A McLaren P1? Wow! There are only a handful of these in the country, and Scott Livinus is the only one in this city with a black one. Could it really be him?”
Sophia glanced over and saw that it was indeed Scott Livinus stepping out of the car.
A fashionable, long-legged woman in a short-sleeved top and a tight skirt got out of the passenger seat, wearing high heels.
The woman quickly walked over and linked arms with Livinus Scott, and together, they walked toward the mall—a handsome man and a beautiful woman.
“Wow! He’s so handsome and rich! And she’s gorgeous! They make such a perfect couple!”
“They look like they’re married! He’s rich and so good-looking—what does he do?”
“This girl is so lucky! She must’ve saved the galaxy in her last life! Is he a first-generation or second-generation wealthy?”
“Oh, what’s there to envy? She’s probably just crying in that sports car. Who knows the struggles behind the scenes?”
The onlookers whispered and speculated.
Nancy tsked and shook her head. “It really is Livinus Scott! But who’s that woman? They seem awfully close! Livinus Scott never lets other women link arms with him.”
“Maybe they’re just friends?” Chloe guessed.
Nancy shook her head, “I’ve never seen her before. But it’s possible—I was studying abroad for many years, so I don’t know everyone around him now.”
Sophia looked at them; they did make a striking pair. The man was tall, and the woman was elegant and refined. A perfectly matched pair.
“Let’s go say hello!” Nancy said, pulling them into the Chanel store.
Once inside, they saw the woman trying on numerous outfits and handbags, asking for Livinus’s opinion on each.
“How about this outfit?”
“Does this bag suit me?”
“Help me decide! I trust your taste!”
The sales associate looked them over, praising, “Miss, you have excellent taste, and your gentleman is so kind to accompany you shopping and help you choose. You two really seem in love!”
“In love? Are we in love? Really? Do you really think he loves me?” the woman asked excitedly.
The sales associate was stunned. Most people would just smile and accept the compliment, but this woman was pressing the issue.
Smiling awkwardly, she nodded, “Yes, you really look like a couple. Your gentleman seems to care for you very much.”
The associate held back from saying too much, wary of making assumptions. If it turned out they weren’t a couple and she was a kept mistress, things could get awkward.
The world of the wealthy was beyond ordinary people’s understanding.
The woman beamed, grabbing Livinus Scott’s arm excitedly, “See? They say we’re a perfect match! And that you really love me!”
Livinus frowned, his voice stern, “Stop fooling around and make your choices.”
“But I don’t know what to choose. Help me pick!” the woman pouted.
