They had heard of applying wild herbs or garlic, and some people recommended drinking barley water, but it was the first time they’d heard that thunderstorm rainwater could remove warts.
“Not all cases can be treated this way; it depends on the cause. In her case, soaking in rainwater works.”
The woman looked at her smooth hands and feet, finding it hard to believe. She still felt as if she were dreaming. And this young lady hadn’t charged her a cent but simply shared the remedy with her, making the woman genuinely trust her.
“Young lady, do I still need any medication?”
“Stretch out your hand,” Sophia took her pulse and nodded. “Take some medicine to reduce the internal heat; otherwise, the warts might come back.”
She prescribed three doses of medicine.
With this, the friends who had taken shelter from the rain became interested. They wouldn’t have believed it without seeing it with their own eyes. Though people often say that old remedies can’t be trusted, Sophia had just proven that traditional medicine could be incredibly effective.
“Young lady, check my health too.”
“I’d like some medicine to help with women’s health.”
“I want to conceive again…”
Everyone rushed forward, but Sophia remained calm, saying, “Line up! One at a time!”

After finishing her consultations and seeing the patients off, Sophia looked at the 500 dollars in her medicine box and smiled, recording the day’s log.
“Sophia, you’ve been treating patients all day and only made this much? You’d make more selling beauty cream.”
Sophia smiled, remembering she still owed the beauty salon many bottles of cream.
“This isn’t about the money.”
As she packed the prepared beauty cream into boxes, she said, “Treating patients isn’t just a business; making money isn’t my main purpose.”
“Alright, Dr. Smith! I’ll wait for you to become famous nationwide, bringing honor to the Smith family!”
They both laughed. Sophia handed the beauty cream to Chloe and was about to head home when she suddenly ran into a familiar face.
It was Miss Maggie.
What was odd was that Miss Maggie was with a man, and they seemed to be discussing something in secret.
Five minutes later, the man handed something to Miss Maggie, who, after saying a few words, had a peculiar smile on her face.
Quickly, Miss Maggie handed the man a black leather bag. From Sophia’s angle, she could see a stack of red bills inside.
Strange. Who was this man, and why was Miss Maggie giving him money? Just in case, Sophia took out her phone and captured everything.

That night, Sophia returned home and suddenly received a strange text message:
“Hey beautiful, remember me? We had dinner together that night.”
Sophia’s first thought was Calvin. For one, she had a minor conflict with him after their drinking contest, and two, all the other men at the table had girlfriends, except for her and Calvin, who attended alone.
“Calvin?”
“No, it’s Nathan.”
Nathan? Sophia frowned and didn’t reply immediately. Nathan was Anna’s boyfriend, so why was he texting her in the middle of the night? This was their first meeting, and there was no reason for him to text her. How did Nathan even get her number?
Sophia was cautious, asking, “What’s the matter?”
“Nothing, really, just feeling bored and wanted to chat! You’re very pretty, by the way. Do you have a boyfriend?”
Sophia glanced at the message and didn’t reply.
Soon, another message arrived: “We’re at a bar right now. Beautiful, come join us! My treat for drinks!”
Sophia asked tentatively, “Is Anna there?”
“She’s at her hospital internship,” with a smiley face, “She won’t find out.”
Sophia was disgusted by the phrase “She won’t find out.” She had initially thought Nathan was a decent person—polite and honest, not greasy like some men. She had even thought Anna had chosen well. But now, it was clear that appearances can be deceiving.
To avoid any future misunderstandings, Sophia didn’t reply. Nathan sent a few more messages, but she ignored them all.

Scott Livinus loosened his tie, entering the room with a blank expression.
The old man was sitting on the sofa waiting for him, with Scott Richard sitting upright beside him.
Scott Livinus sat down on the sofa with an impassive look.
“Waiting for me?”
I heard from the eldest that there was some conflict between you two at the company?”
Scott Livinus sneered. “Dad, was it so serious that you had to wait here for me?”
The old man hesitated, his brows furrowed. “I saw the hemorrhoid cream project. The company has been working on it for a long time, and even if there are shortcomings, you, as his younger brother, should be a little more accommodating. After all, you’re the company’s CEO. Although you’re in charge now, this company is far too large for you to handle alone. With your other two brothers still struggling, you and the eldest should be supporting each other.”
Scott Richard sneered slightly, knowing the old man feared any discord among the brothers, especially conflict that could harm the family’s unity. He had exploited this weakness to push forward. He was curious to see how Scott Livinus would respond!
Unexpectedly, Scott Livinus showed little reaction, only asking calmly, “So, Dad, are you suggesting that I approve the hemorrhoid cream project?”
“Yes, approve it! It’s rare for the eldest to take on a project. The formula came from Sophia’s father, who holds fond memories of his in-laws and wants to bring this product to life. It’s understandable.”
Scott Livinus didn’t respond, only lowering his eyes, and after a while, a faint smile appeared on his lips. “Alright.”
Scott Richard had expected resistance, but Scott Livinus agreed without hesitation.
His easy agreement gave Scott Richard a sense of unease.
Who was Scott Livinus? Given his understanding of his younger brother, wouldn’t easily let this slide and allow him to use the old man to pressure him.
Where could the problem lie?
There was no way there was a flaw in the hemorrhoid cream’s formula or development; he had followed this project closely and ensured there were no errors!
Scott Livinus stood up, glancing at Scott Richard with a faint smile. “Since big brother wants to do it, as his younger brother, I’ll support him.”
After leaving the living room, Felix, who followed him upstairs, asked quietly:
“Mr. Scott, with the old man stepping in, any blame won’t fall on you if Scott Richard messes up in the future.”
