Against the Alpha’s Claim – Chapter 317

Indoors

Benzy entered the room to assist. “The flowers are en route; however, the bouquet Bella will be carrying is not yet arranged. The florist indicated that she would assemble them tomorrow, just prior to delivery, to maintain their freshness.” I instructed her to prepare them now; we will address any issues tomorrow if they wither.

Luke expressed scepticism, stating, “I doubt they will wither overnight.” It will probably remain in cold storage until that time.

He dedicated the remainder of the afternoon and evening to arranging the ballroom, with his mother and Vera present to assist with the delivered flowers. All items previously located outdoors are now being relocated indoors.

Bella, Dani, Nina, Margaret, Nora, Maya, and Elena all participated in arranging the tables.

Elena engaged her daughters, asserting, “Many hands make light work, and obstacles occur even in the most meticulously organised plans.” She now recognised the volume of flowers acquired for packing events and discerned that collaborating with him would be advantageous for her.

They paused for meals and thereafter resumed work, taking until nearly 11 PM to arrange everything according to his and his mother’s preferences. He observed Bella gazing at him several times. A smile graced her visage. She appreciated it when he engaged actively and undertook tasks himself, rather than relying on others for assistance. This was her day, and her perspective was considered in all matters. She had laughed at the prospect of witnessing and hearing about the integrated stairs herself.

Informed him that he had been concerned unnecessarily.

He escorted her to the Luna Suite and leaned against the door frame; she would be spending the night there with Vera, Nina, and Dani. He would be merely one room away in their suite with the triplets, alone for the night. They had vowed to exhibit exemplary conduct in his presence.

He harboured reservations as the three smiled charmingly at him, “Simply provide them with ice cream upon request.” Bella laughed at him. “Ice cream resolves all their issues.” I placed a new tub of Hokey Pokey in the freezer for you.

“I shall miss you,” he sighed, pulling her closer as he observed the door ajar.

Nina laughed, saying, “Now, now, you can wait one night,” as she extricated Bella from his embrace and directed her into the Luna suite. Greeted him with a smile and dismissed him with a wave. She had learnt to appreciate him, as had Dani ultimately. Her wedding was still scheduled for three months later when the weather became warmer.

Nina and Grampa Hill have some quite extravagant opinions regarding it. They would obtain their desires. Matt, having invoked the father of the bride prerogative, declared his intention to finance the wedding, while the father of the groom would be responsible for the alcohol expenses.

There has been some negotiation between Matt and his father, but they are resolving the matter. The wedding was scheduled to take place in Los Angeles. On the Hill estate

He could only smile at Nina, as she resembled their mother in her behaviour. I established a strong rapport with Vera, which was advantageous, as there appeared to be no maternal rivalry there. Both individuals cherished her, and he realised that Vera was content that Bella had someone to rely on and support her. Vera genuinely valued that.

He returned to his apartment to discover all three children gazing at him. He grinned and, before they could respond, proposed, “How about ice cream?”

Both girls squealed as they dashed to the kitchen. Karis smiled up at him and followed his sisters. “I’m learning,” he remarked to his son, who merely grinned.

Bella saw the moon set just after 6 PM and bit her lip, aware of Luke’s suspicions regarding Lanky. She turned to see Margaret, who was anxiously pacing in the Luna Suite. Benzy had conveyed their collective sentiments to her; she gazed at him momentarily before beseeching the Goddess to restore joy and happiness to her elder brother.

Both were aware that Lanky was with Luke and his troop, preparing for the ritual, which was scheduled to commence at 8 PM tonight. They had deliberated and postponed it by two hours from the moon’s setting. In this manner, any freshly turned 18-year-old wolves might detect and locate their Mates if the goddess deemed it appropriate to unite them.

If Maya were Lanky’s mate, he would recognise her, be able to detect her scent, presumably pursue her, and formally propose a date. In accordance with tradition, she had heard he was involved with the girl, and Bella merely hoped it was not merely a tactic to distance Maya from Macky. From her observations, it appeared that neither Nora nor Elena were aware that Maya was involved with someone, a fact that was concealed from both of them.

Bella, once the cherished lover of future Alpha Luke of the Red Moon Pack, finds her world shattered when she is banished from her pack. Her crime? Striking Luke’s newly discovered fated mate with claws unsheathed—a reflex her wolf, Tyler, cryptically defends with the words, “To protect the pup.” Stripped of her place in the pack and warned never to return, Bella complies, narrowly avoiding the rogue label since Luke has not yet ascended to full Alpha status. Heartbroken and resolute, she retreats to the human world, immersing herself in university life to complete her law degree. Bella carves out a new existence as a successful divorce attorney, far from the pack that cast her aside, the future Luna who despises her, and the secret she guards fiercely—her children, the legacy of a love she can never reclaim. Six years pass in self-imposed exile, but the past refuses to stay buried. When an official letter from the Red Moon Pack demands her return, Bella defiantly burns it, vowing never to step foot in Luke’s territory again. But Luke, now the reigning Alpha, is relentless. He will bring her back, no matter the cost. Bound by the constraints of human law and society, Luke cannot simply take her by force—her prominence in the human world complicates any attempt to make her disappear. Yet, he is determined to claim what he believes is his by right. As their paths cross again, Bella is thrust into a storm of conflicting emotions. Her wolf yearns for Luke, urging her to reclaim the bond they share, but Bella’s heart is torn. She despises the man who cast her out yet still feels the undeniable pull of their connection. To her, Luke’s motives are clear: he wants his heirs by his side, not her. She believes his wolf drives him to claim her, while the man himself sees her merely as the mother of his children, a convenient solution to his legacy. But is that the truth? Or does Luke harbor a deeper love for her that he has yet to admit—even to himself? In the battle between pride and fate, will Bella surrender to the mate bond or stand firm in her resolve to remain free? Only time will reveal whether their fractured past can heal, or if the scars will prove too deep to overcome.
