The Luna and Her Child – Chapter 63

Draws

All individuals begin to disperse. Paxton approaches us. “You nearly terrified everyone, Cohen,” he laughs, but Cohen remains impassive.

“Good,” he asserts, and I approach him, offering a brief embrace.

“Down,” Alyssa articulates with a gesture. Cohen sets her down, and she proceeds to a dense blue mat.

I occasionally permitted Alyssa to jump on one at the warrior building of Lunar Howl Moon during my visits with her. I trail her, ensuring she does not obstruct anyone. Upon her arrival at the corner with the thick mat, I elevate her and position her atop it. No one is utilising it, thus she is not causing any interruptions.

She is exuberantly jumping. Her feet scarcely lift off the mat during her jumps, yet she derives great enjoyment from it. She is laughing, and upon losing her balance and falling, she exclaims, ‘fall down.’ I observe her as an unfamiliar woman approaches to engage me in conversation. Her red hair is secured, and she possesses freckles. Our body types are comparable, although she is slightly taller than I. She possesses a striking beauty that is distinctly earthy and natural.

“Greetings, I am Brit,” she states, extending her hand, which I grasp.

“Greetings, it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance.”

“I would like to extend a warm welcome to Bloodfang Moon; I am genuinely pleased that we are gaining another formidable female warrior,” she states with pride.

“I appreciate it; I am pleased to be present.” I am eager to become acquainted with all of you and to train together.

“Likewise!”She gazes at Alyssa, exclaiming, “That laugh, however, is truly endearing.”

“I appreciate it!”After conversing for several minutes, Cohen approaches us.

“I informed you that she would appreciate a trampoline,” Cohen states, feeling a sense of pride.

“Alpha,” Brit states with a nod. “Brit,” he acknowledges with a nod.

“I shall see you later, Luna,” Brit states, before turning away.

“Simply refer to me as Celine,” I remark as she departs. She turns back to smile and nod.

Cohen and I depart and proceed with our tour. We are now proceeding to the childcare centre. This pack possesses its own structure. Upon visibility, I observe the perimeter defined by the chain-link fence. There exists a sandy area featuring a play structure and an assortment of outdoor toys.

This is remarkable! An outdoor play area is available.”

Cohen grins, satisfied to witness my happiness. Upon entering, we observe approximately 10 women and around 30 young children. They possess significantly more young children than Lunar Howl Moon as well. Cohen presents us as his friend and daughter. I observe the perplexed expressions directed at him, yet we simply disregard them. The women appear genuinely pleasant and amiable. I am at ease with the prospect of leaving Alyssa here during my training sessions.

Cohen subsequently escorts me to an adjacent building near the packhouse. It is the recreation hall, featuring pool tables, Foosball tables, air hockey, seating arrangements, a bar area and several large televisions mounted on the wall.

“We do not stock alcohol here unless we are hosting a party; in the evenings, patrons are encouraged to bring their own, as this establishment also receives considerable foot traffic from children,” he elucidates.

Currently vacant, but I am confident that this location becomes quite frequented after school dismisses.

He subsequently demonstrates the hospital, the convenience store, the expansive playground, and the splash pad. The splash pad is deactivated due to the cool temperatures in April; however, I am confident that Alyssa will enjoy it immensely once it is operational. Having completed the tour, I choose to allow Alyssa to play at the park prior to my return home.

I understand you have considerable work to complete, dear. I will remain here with Alyssa to allow her to expend some energy. You may resume your work.

He glances at his watch and states, “I wish to discuss your Luna ceremony first.” I am quite reluctant to engage in this conversation. I am unprepared to assume the role of Luna. Furthermore, it appears inappropriate; I scarcely know anyone in this vicinity.

“Your expression suggested you were experiencing physical discomfort when I referenced the Luna ceremony,” he admits.

“Apologies, what was your intended message?”“I enquire with a laugh.”

He halts. “I wish to commence the planning of your Luna ceremony.”

“At what specific time?””

“Not this Friday, but the following Friday… thus, in 10 days.”

“What?” What about in several months? “A mere few months appears excessively premature to me,” I implore.

He gestures negatively with his head. Celine, you are my designated mate, with whom I now share a child. He states plainly, “I intended to do it this Friday, but I believed that a 10-day timeframe would be more preferable for you.” I begin to groan.

“Is it premature… 6 weeks?”“I enquire in my most dulcet tone.” He appears completely unaffected by my efforts, merely smiling and shaking his head in negation. “5 weeks?” Kindly?I complain.

Seventeen days. This is the maximum to which I will consent. Two and a half weeks. I detest the notion of waiting for such an extended period. <text”I desire your rightful position beside me,” he states as he draws me nearer.

“I remain by your side; you are my companion.” “A title cannot alter that,” I assure him.

“It does not to us.” I am concerned about others. If you are not their Luna, they may perceive themselves as entitled to converse with you or regard you as inferior. “As if we are not a cohesive unit, and as if I would not dismantle them if they interfere with you,” he bellows, prompting my laughter.

I find it endearing that he becomes agitated at the mere notion of someone mistreating me. “I cherish you.” You previously indicated that Alyssa and I should receive proper treatment. There is no need for concern. Furthermore, I could defeat every she-wolf present,” I jest, eliciting a chuckle from him.

“Indeed, you could!”He proudly confesses as he draws me in to kiss me.
