With his face buried against her chest, he felt a wave of contentment.
“Aren’t you supposed to be working?” Sophia asked awkwardly.
“Work can wait,” he replied, tightening his grip around her waist. His strong arms locked her in place, leaving her unable to move.
Before she could react, he lifted her nightgown and slid his hand between her legs. The room’s temperature rose sharply, leaving the rest of the evening to be filled with nothing but soft murmurs and sighs.

The next morning, Sophia woke up feeling sore all over. She glanced at the bruises on her body and sighed helplessly.
Livinus was perfect in every way except for his insatiable demands in bed. Unlike ordinary men, who might last ten to twenty minutes at most in reality, Livinus seemed to take inspiration from romance novels—each time lasting hours and pushing her to her limits. He claimed to value quality over quantity, ensuring every encounter was nearly flawless. This left her completely spent but undeniably satisfied.
Though she often found it overwhelming, she had to admit they were remarkably compatible in this aspect. It was rare to find someone whose physical and emotional rhythm matched so perfectly. While some people might struggle with discomfort despite ideal physical compatibility, she and Livinus seemed destined for each other. Each time felt like a soothing hot bath, leaving her utterly drained but him completely fulfilled.
Thankfully, her health was good. After a simple morning workout, she felt refreshed again.
—
That day, Livinus entered his office in a notably good mood.
A junior secretary whispered to Joanna, “Sister, the boss seems to be in an excellent mood today.”
Joanna smirked knowingly. “Obviously! A man who’s well-fed and content naturally has a good mood.”
“Wait, are you saying…?”
“Isn’t it obvious?” Joanna chuckled while sipping her coffee.
Next to them, Felix cleared his throat and lightly pinched Joanna’s ear. “Watch what you’re saying! If the boss hears you, you might be sent to Africa on a business trip!”
“Hey! Felix, how dare you pinch me? Watch out, or I’ll—” She chased after him, stopping abruptly when they reached the door to Livinus’s office, which suddenly opened.
Livinus stepped out with a neutral expression. “Bring me the meeting minutes from yesterday.”
“Right away!” Joanna replied, instantly snapping to attention.
Felix smirked from the sidelines, looking smug.

At the Scott family home, the old patriarch called everyone together for a meal. Midway through dinner, he began coughing suddenly.
“Dad…” Livinus quickly supported him, gently patting his back.
“I’m fine,” the old man replied, his expression calm.
As Livinus withdrew his hand, the ring on his left ring finger caught the light, glittering brilliantly. The patriarch’s eyes immediately fixed on it, and his brows furrowed slightly.
“Livinus, why are you wearing a ring on that finger?”
“Just for fun,” he replied casually.
Only then did the old man relax. He then added, “Bring your girlfriend home to meet the family sometime. Since you’re already at the stage of exchanging rings, it’s time for us to meet her. My health is unpredictable, and before I leave this world, I’d like to see you married with children.”
The atmosphere grew heavy at his words. Livinus nodded and said, “When the time is right, I will bring her home.”
As soon as he said this, Henry’s expression darkened. With a sneer, he remarked sarcastically, “Uncle, what kind of person is your girlfriend? Why not tell us more? For instance, has she been married before? How many relationships has she had? What were her exes like? What does her family do? And what’s her profession?”
Hearing this, Andrea, sensing the tension, discreetly tugged on Henry’s sleeve, but he shook her off.
Livinus’s gaze turned icy, and he looked up expressionlessly, his tone cold as he said, “None of that is your business. All you need to know is that you’ll be calling her Aunt.”
Henry gripped his spoon tightly, his face clouded with anger.
Olivia attempted to mediate. “Henry, it’s a good thing that Uncle is in a relationship. You should be happy for him.”
“Exactly! Livinus has high standards. Any woman he chooses is sure to be exceptional,” Andrea chimed in with a conciliatory smile.
Livinus remained indifferent, exuding a chilling aura that made everyone uneasy.
The patriarch snorted coldly. “If you can’t even eat peacefully, perhaps your entire branch of the family should move out and be independent!”
The old man’s words were harsh. Since Livinus was single, it was obvious he was targeting Richard’s side of the family. Yet none of them dared to retort, as they were well aware they were no match for Livinus. Their continued residence in the family home was only tolerated because the patriarch hadn’t explicitly ordered them to leave. If that day came, they wouldn’t have a leg to stand on.
