Against the Alpha’s Claim – Chapter 236

His connection

A number of individuals observed him as they passed, and one woman remarked, “Control your children.”

Minka was shouting at him that “Mother would permit us.”

A bystander remarked, “I suppose mother dominates that household,” accompanied by a chuckle.

He exhaled deeply and ceased his pursuit of her; despite his stature and longer strides, she was remarkably swift and adept at use the passersby to obstruct him. He recognised that persisting in his attempts to win her over was futile and merely exacerbating the situation.

Luke recognised his ignorance of Bella’s ability to control the three of them and groaned; she had cautioned him that they would attempt to dominate him and that he needed to assert himself. He scowled at his rebellious daughter, who was glaring at him, her Alpha blooded disobedience unmistakably evident.

“Minka, come here,” he instructed her resolutely.

“No, I desire ice cream,” she retorted emphatically.

He transferred Arana to Benzy. “Please take her,” he stated, and Benzy complied; Arana departed without difficulty. Minka seemed to be the sole occupant of the ice cream train; Karis did not protest the refusal, only the girls did, and Arana ceased her pursuit once she had captured her target.

“Minka, I declined.”

“Mother would affirm.” She retorted immediately.

“Mother is absent; I am present.”

“Subsequently, contact her; she will acquiesce.”

Luke groaned somewhat heavily now. “I will not refer to her as Minka; you are with me, and you will comply with my instructions,” he asserted, attempting to adopt his father’s authoritative tone.

“I am consuming ice cream.” She abruptly shouted at him and then swiftly proceeded to the ice cream establishment, advancing directly to the counter.

He nearly growled at his daughter’s belligerent demeanour. “Minka, that is sufficient,” he spat sharply at her. “I declined.” I was sincere in my statement. There will be no ice cream, unequivocally.

He observed her green eyes fixate on him and immediately recognised that she was on the verge of tears; this was the first occasion he had ever elevated his voice towards any of them. He observed her lower lip tremble, followed by an eruption of tears and sobs. He approached her with a sigh to provide support. He had not intended to make her weep; his aim was merely for her to circumvent him and approach Karis, who stood adjacent to him.

He observed his son gazing directly at him while he grasped her hand, frowning disapprovingly, displeased that he had caused his sister to weep. Arana began to cry shortly thereafter, within a minute, and he was surrounded by sobbing girls. He transitioned from content children to discontent children within a few minutes, all due to ice cream. He rose and gazed at his offspring.

“What is her method for accomplishing this?””

“Perhaps you should enquire how.”

He could merely nod and respond, “I suppose I must.” However, he desired to demonstrate to Bella that he could manage the three of them alone. He was now comprehending the immense difficulties of her existence and contemplated her actions during such moments. Did she acquiesce to them? Should one remain resolute and confront the tears and outbursts?

Seated in a crouched position before Minka. “I did not intend to raise my voice or cause you distress,” he said softly, extending his arms to lift her. She permitted him to do so, remaining silent and continuing to weep. He gazed at Karis, the sole individual not weeping, rose, and grasped his hand. “Let us procure a gift for mother.”

Benzy observed Arana having her back rubbed. The man grinned at him. “It appears to be quite challenging.”

“No,” he could merely concur with him.

Karis remained composed, while both girls wept for approximately ten minutes before calming down. Minka wriggled to be released from his embrace, and he complied, observing as she grasped Karis’s hand and walked alongside him. Arana mirrored this action, and he and Benzy trailed behind them; the three children were now silent.

Luke was uncertain about how to interact with them, as they had always been content inside the pack. He believed today would be unremarkable, standing with them while Benzy examined jewellery for Margaret, he rubbed his chest and scowled as it ached significantly.

He believed he was sufficiently apart from Bella to avoid any complications, yet he understood that the agony in his chest signified their emotional separation. So far that his connection to her caused a pang in his chest.

Benzy observed his actions and remarked, “You may want to reconsider your words at this moment.”

“What?”

“Is there pain in your chest?” Mine does not.

“Somewhat, yes.”

“What is the rationale for it?””

“I would wager that conditions will deteriorate as the day progresses.”

Observed Benzy do his transaction and exit the store.

“Didn’t you inform Macky that he was required to remain with Bella?” he remarked nonchalantly.
