“Where should I begin, Dani?” I enquired of her. “You are posing numerous enquiries simultaneously.” The alpha king is my destined partner, although I was rejected by him when I lacked a wolf. I was without a wolf when I encountered him.
She exclaims, “He rejected you? What a heartless king. He is aware that you possess no wolf, yet he still dismisses you. I am infuriated with the king. He harbours a cruel disposition. Why would he treat you in such a manner? I believed he was a benevolent king. I suppose I was mistaken about him.”

I do not wish to remain here. I do not want to behold his visage. I articulated my plight to Dani. She listened attentively as I expressed my exasperation. Suddenly, she embraced me. ‘You have endured much, Jessica.'” I sincerely apologise. “That individual sought to usurp your existence. We shall devise your escape. You must depart from here, but first, you require rest. Your wolf also needs to recuperate. Sleep soundly. I will keep vigil over you. I succumb to slumber, experiencing tranquilly knowing she is beside me. I long for Zora and Bria, hoping they are safe. I wish to communicate with them, yet I cannot, and they will be unable to perceive me in this place. Even if they come searching for me, they will remain oblivious to my presence. This location is a confinement. I will never attain freedom of movement. I stirred and opened my eyes, uncertain of the duration of my slumber, yet acutely aware of my profound relaxation.

“A new head maid has been appointed,” she murmured. Her name is Lottie. She is the goddaughter of Carly. I understand she has offered to assume the role of head maid.
“Understood. I enquired, “What is the source of your concern?”
“Do you not comprehend this, Jessica?” She communicates. She has come to exact vengeance on her godmother. She is present for you. She exhibits greater hostility than she possesses. I detest all aspects of her.
“She should come then. I am not intimidated by her,” I murmur. I shall fracture her bones. I will permit her to accompany her godmother to the pack hospital.
“This is my point. She murmurs. “Do you recall the warning from the Alpha King?” He will murder you if you confront her. I am concerned that she will discover your predicament.
I am not intimidated by the alpha king. She has never witnessed me engage in an actual combat, which is why she believes he can defeat me. I hope Layne discovers her strength promptly. I will not hesitate to eliminate him when the moment arises.
“Do not be concerned, Dani. I will be well.”
The following day, we bathed and proceeded to breakfast.
