THE FOLLOWING DAY IN THE CELL.
I ascended. The entire night was dreadful. It was frigid throughout. Layne continued to converse with me, attempting to keep me warm until she grew fatigued.
I was still slumbering on the frigid floor when I heard my cell door open.
“Rise, you insolent individual!”A stranger yanked my hair. Rise. The Alpha King has arrived. What was he doing in this cell earlier? Is he here to deride me once more?
I was experiencing difficulty. He was gazing at me.
“Bow down to the king,” the guards yell. I try to fight him when he drags my hair, forcing me to bow.
“You will not have the opportunity to suffer again,” the king said. “Go retrieve that object.”
The guard departed, leaving me alone with the king. What did he request the guard to fetch? I was lost in contemplation when the guard re-entered.
“Here. This is what you requested, my king,” he stated, handing him an object resembling a wolf enclosure.
Layne attempts to assert control upon perceiving his intentions.
“Subdue her,” he instructed. “Exercise caution; she possesses considerable strength.”
I was restrained by two individuals before he administered the wolf barn injection.
“Ahhhhh!!!” I exclaim.
“Allow her to be,” he stated. “You will not perish.” The quantity I administer to you will not significantly hurt you, but it will diminish your wolf’s strength. I am aware that you are insignificant in her absence.
I was left to contend with the serum coursing through my body. I am unable to perceive Layne. “Layne, are you present?”
I am confined to the corner of the jail. “Why is he behaving this way merely because I acknowledged his rejection?”
In the evening, I remained in the same position when Don entered.
Jessica, what is the matter with you? He enquired. “Are you well?”
I was unable to speak. I reclined there in a state of helplessness. I lack the strength to raise my hands.
He enquired once more. “Jessica, what is the issue? He inhaled deeply before exclaiming.” Do not tell me the alpha king employed a wolf barn on you to diminish your wolf!”
“He actually did that to you? Unbelievable and dreadful. This is appalling.”
What is your purpose for being here? I perceive the king’s voice. He is interrogating his friend: “Who granted you permission to visit her? Are you intending to liberate her? Are you contemplating betraying me for her, Don?”
No. “No,” he stated, raising his hand. “I do not intend to flee with her.” I shall never betray you.
“Do not presume that you can betray me and escape unscathed,” he said. “I do not permit you to come here without my consent. Is that understood?”
“Affirmative, alpha,” he said.
“You may leave now,” the alpha stated. I require a discussion with my young maid.
“I cannot fathom that I will witness a day such as this,” he said. That day will arrive when you will be ineffectual and vulnerable. I am here to enquire once more. “Are you prepared to be my queen?” Become my partner and bear my offspring.
He continued to speak incessantly. I will not accept him.
I was able to articulate, “No.” “I will not acknowledge you as my partner.”
“What?!””You exhibit considerable obstinacy.”

“Splash!! Ahhhh!” I exclaim. Someone has doused me with water. “What do you believe you are doing?”I vocalise my distress.
“It is time for your punishment,” the guard taunts. I am responsible for administering your punishment. I was forcibly taken to the punishment room. I remained debilitated after yesterday’s shot. I was deprived of sustenance and hydration. I am currently facing punishment.
“What offence have I perpetrated?” I enquire gently.
What is the reason for your inquiry? “You lack the authority to make such a request,” he shouts. “You are merely a criminal.”
I was bound to a pole. He doused my body with water prior to commencing the whipping.
“The king is correct. ‘You are obstinate,’ he remarked while persistently striking me. It lacerated my skin. I did not weep. The pain is excruciating, yet I shall never cry.”
“Let us observe how long you can endure as well,” he exclaims. He struck me forcefully. Blood was seeping from the laceration. My body was covered in wounds.
“You will face consequences for any disobedience towards our king,” he stated. “Adjust your manner of speaking in the presence of my king, or your punishment will be harsh,” he cautioned. “Understand the regulations.” Submit to the king’s authority if you wish to reside comfortably in your cell.
Each day in the jail feels like torment to me. He ensured that I was subjected to cruelty.
“It appears that someone can no longer endure,” he remarks with a sneer. “Plead with me; I may grant you forgiveness.”
