“To what destination are you proceeding?” He enquired, scrutinising the bag I was holding. “To what destination do you believe you are heading, Jessica?”
“I am departing,” I muttered, feeling somewhat vexed by his enquiries. What concern does he have?
“Did you seek my permission prior to departing this residence? Respond!”
“Father, you never desired my existence initially, so I believe you lack the authority to enquire about my whereabouts. You detest my presence, do you not? My visage repulses you, correct? Therefore, permit me to leave. You will never have to encounter me again.”
My father became silent. He gazed at me in silence. He rose and proceeded to his bedroom.
“Father,” I called after him, prompting him to stop, “I apologise. I did not intend to be disrespectful. I am simply in considerable pain. It is not too late to amend our relationship. If you would only express your love for me and your desire for me to remain, I will not leave. I merely wish to hear you affirm your love for me, Father,” I stated, tears streaming down my cheeks.
I waited, anticipating that he would show me compassion this one time. However, he did not. He departed, leaving me stationary. That shattered my heart once more. What made it so difficult for him to express his love for me?
“Allow him to be,” my mother remarked, gently caressing my shoulder. “Let us proceed. You do not wish to forfeit your transportation, correct?”
“Understood, mother,” I responded, drying my tears as I accompanied her outside.
She transported me to the location where I would board the bus to her sister’s residence. In the absence of a wolf, I am compelled to travel to her location via bus.
“I will miss you immensely, Mother,” I stated, as we embraced for the final time.
“I will miss you more, dear,” Mother responded, smiling as we released our embrace. “I hope you will be well and find someone who loves and accepts you for your true self.”
“I share your sentiment, Mother. However, I am growing weary of hope and desire. I refuse to invest my hope in individuals who will never value me,” I expressed.
“You will be well. Do not despair. I am confident you will encounter that exceptional individual eventually,” she reassured me.
My mother awaited the arrival of the bus. I regret having to separate from her, but I have no alternative. I will never get happiness while residing in this dreadful pack.
I currently have intense animosity against my companion and wish to never encounter him again.
I am certain that I will return here at some point in the future. However, I shall be more resilient, and my wounded heart will have recovered by that time. Time mends all injuries, correct?
I bid farewell to Mother as I boarded the bus. I gestured to her until she disappeared from view.
The journey lasted three hours until I ultimately reached my aunt’s bag. All were anticipating my arrival.
“Greetings to my pack,” Alpha Darius proclaimed. He was the husband of Aunt Liza and the Alpha of the Moon Cast Pack.
“Thank you, Alpha,” I responded, appreciating the cordial welcome he extended to me. It has been some time since anyone has treated me with such warmth.
“We are family. You may refer to me as Uncle,” he stated.
“Understood, Sir,” I exclaimed, but immediately covered my lips with my hands.
“Refer to me as uncle,” he reiterated.
“Understood, uncle, I have disclosed.”
“Welcome home, dear,” my aunt embraced me, imparting a maternal warmth.
“Thank you, Aunt,” I expressed, reciprocating her affectionate embrace.
I experienced love. It was peculiar, however for the first time in an extended period, I felt a sense of belonging. This area felt familiar, despite being my initial visit.
Aunt Liza escorted me to my room and introduced me to her three children: one son and one daughter. Lucas is the eldest, while Zora, the youngest, is my age. She is also seeking her mate and is a kind individual. I learnt that she shares an obsession with finding her mate and envisions the sweetness of that moment.
I refrained from informing her of her significant errors. Mates can be insufferable, and one’s existence will be a torment if paired with a wretched partner like my despicable mate.
“I do not believe that friendships are as admirable as they are often portrayed,” I eventually expressed to her one day while we were seated by the pool.
“Jessica, have you located your partner?””She enquired.”
No. I have never encountered my mate, and I do not believe he is remarkable,” I uttered falsehoods. I was still in pain, making it difficult to confess that I had been rejected by my mate.
What is the issue? “Why do I sense that you are concealing something? Please inform me, Jessica, were you rejected by your mate?”
