Arrogant Husband and Timid Wife – Chapter 91

Missing

Only after Dylan had left did Andy place the car keys and phone back on the table.

As the meal progressed, the sound of heels clicking on the marble floor drew everyone’s attention.

The classmates’ gazes turned in unison toward the source of the sound.

A woman in a simple yet elegant dress gracefully introduced herself.

“Hello, everyone. It’s been a while.”

“Hello, everyone. It’s been a while.”

Even as she aged, the beauty of the woman still captivated her classmates, who couldn’t help but admire her once again.

A few of the classmates recognized her and were very pleased to see her.

“Aliza, it’s been a long time. I heard you returned to the country.”

“You’re still so pretty.”

Aliza quickly scanned the surroundings as if looking for someone, and upon noticing that Andy’s seat was empty, she asked, “Who’s sitting here?”

“It’s Dylan’s seat.”

Before Andy could finish his sentence, Aliza immediately sat down in the vacant spot, pulling her lips into a smile. Although Andy found it a bit absurd, he didn’t mind having a pretty woman sit next to him, so he refrained from saying anything unpleasant.

“Nice to see you, Aliza. It’s been a long time since we’ve seen each other, hasn’t it?”

Andy smiled brightly and extended his hand for a handshake.

“A flirtatious man isn’t my type, so don’t bother trying to hit on me!”

However, Aliza coldly drew a line, saying this as if she were the one in control, rendering Andy’s outstretched hand useless. While he could have felt offended, Andy just chuckled playfully and replied.

“Aliza, you’re still as aloof as ever.”

Aliza’s gaze remained fixed on the car keys and phone on the table, showing no interest in Andy.

To be honest, Aliza didn’t particularly enjoy gatherings like this, but she forced herself to come, hoping she might run into Dylan by chance.

At first, she was disappointed when she didn’t see him.

But it was a relief when he finally arrived.

At that moment, the vibration of the phone on the table jolted Aliza out of her thoughts.

Her eyes instinctively dropped down. Seeing the name of the caller pop up on the phone screen, a strange smile crept onto her lips.

Taking advantage of the fact that everyone was busy drinking, Aliza quietly picked up Dylan’s phone and slipped out of the room.

As she pressed the call button, a familiar voice came through the receiver.

– Dear, are you free to talk now?

For Aliza, who had been waiting for the perfect opportunity to disrupt their relationship, receiving a call from Lola was a golden chance.

There was no way she would let this perfect opportunity slip away.

Aliza’s red lips slowly parted.

“Lola Dax? This is Aliza. Dylan is with me right now. He’s had too much to drink and can’t take the call. Bye.”

She casually said something that could easily be misunderstood and hung up. Then, she deleted Lola’s number from the call log, erasing all traces of her crime.

It was truly a perfect crime.

It was a bit surprising that the meticulous Dylan Eve hadn’t set a lock on his phone.

But it worked in her favor.

Aliza placed Dylan’s phone back where it belonged, acting as if nothing had happened. There was someone who had been watching her every move from start to finish.

It was Frank Lewis.

As their eyes met for a brief moment, Aliza raised one corner of her mouth in a haughty smile. Frank observed her with an intrigued expression.

*******

“Dylan said he was going to the bathroom, but why hasn’t he come back yet? Did he run away?”

As time passed without Dylan returning to the room, Andy Porter muttered anxiously.

Aliza’s heart skipped a beat at the thought that he might have actually run away.

It would be meaningless to have come all this way if she couldn’t see his face.

Another waste of time.

“Surely he wouldn’t run away?”

“Look, Dylan is here.”

“Did you get a stomachache? Why did you come out when you could have stayed in the bathroom all night?”

The classmates waiting for Dylan grumbled one by one.

Aliza, relieved, smiled and gestured for the classmate sitting next to her to get up.

At first, the classmate was confused, not understanding what was happening, but when Aliza whispered, “Please let me have your seat,” he generously gave up his spot.

As Dylan approached, he noticed Aliza sitting next to him and subtly furrowed his brows.

He hadn’t expected to see Aliza since she had been missing until now.

Though he felt uncomfortable, Dylan sat down without showing any signs of it.

“Dylan, it’s nice to see you again. How have you been?”

Aliza greeted him with a pretty smile, fully aware that he had no interest in her. Dylan’s brow furrowed even more.
