The Love She Never Saw Coming – Chapter 212

Colleague

Thelma really had no way to deal with him, “Do you really want a little sister that much?”

The little guy nodded.

“But it’s not that easy to have a little sister. What if you have a little brother instead?”

The little guy looked a bit conflicted. He furrowed his brows and thought for a moment before finally compromising, “If it’s a little brother, then I’ll use the money I would have spent on little skirts to buy him toys.”

“Ha!” Thelma couldn’t help but laugh.

She picked up the little one and turned to Sam Noah, “What about you? Do you want a daughter or a son?”

“I already have a son, so of course I want a daughter,” Sam Noah said matter-of-factly.

Thelma pouted in dissatisfaction, “Daughters are their father’s first love. Once you have a little lover, you won’t love me as much.”

Sam Noah chuckled, “What nonsense are you talking about?”

How could a grown man still act like a child?

“Then tell me, when you have a daughter, will you love her more or love me more?”

“Of course I love you more. What are you thinking? I love my daughter because she’s yours.”

Thelma was very satisfied with his answer and secretly smiled. Sam Noah, worried she would get tired, took Tyler from her arms. He was strong enough to carry their son with one hand while holding her hand with the other.

“You’re already fighting over who loves whom before the daughter is even born. Aren’t you afraid your son will laugh at you?”

Although Mr. Sam said this, it was clear he was very happy. He was even imagining a scene where he would have one big and one small fighting to be held by him.

Just thinking about it made him happy.

Thelma was just teasing him, but seeing Sam Noah so happy because of her made her happy too.

The family of three continued to joke and walk forward, with Sam Noah holding their son in one arm and holding his wife’s hand in the other. He felt that life was truly satisfying.

Of course, if they could have a daughter in the future, that would be even more satisfying.

After the  Festival, Thelma received news of Leon’s injury, which was told to her by her sister.

It was said that he was injured while capturing a criminal. The criminal resisted fiercely, and Leon, being the kind of person who doesn’t give up until he achieves his goal, tried every means to subdue him, but the criminal wouldn’t budge. Time was pressing, and not wanting to waste any more time, Leon decided to confront him directly with his gun. In the end, the criminal was successfully subdued, but Leon was also injured. Fortunately, the injury wasn’t serious; he was shot in the leg, but it didn’t hit the bone.

It seemed that Leon was also awarded a first-class merit for this incident.

Samantha heard about this from a classmate who had a good relationship with Leon, so he mentioned it in a class group, boasting about Leon’s impressive performance at the time. However, Samantha wasn’t concerned about Leon’s bravado; she was only focused on the fact that he was injured.

When Samantha mentioned this to Thelma, it seemed like she brought it up casually, but Thelma knew her sister too well. Her sister was a reserved person and felt too shy to go see Leon on her own. By calling to inform her about Leon’s injury, she was actually hoping to use Thelma as an excuse to visit him.

Since Thelma guessed her sister’s intention, she naturally went along with it and said, “Since Leon is injured, you should go see him.”

“Um… that might not be appropriate.”

“What’s inappropriate about it? Aren’t you classmates? Besides, he saved you before. It wouldn’t hurt to check on him. If you’re really too shy, I can go with you.”

“It’s not that I’m shy; it’s just a visit.”

“Then that’s settled.”

“Why don’t you just come with me?”

“……”

After finishing work, Thelma first picked up Tyler and then went to the hospital with her sister.

When they arrived at Leon’s hospital room, they found a room full of young men. Thelma noticed that a few of them were wearing criminal police uniforms, so she guessed they were Leon’s colleagues.

When the two women and the child entered, all the big men in the room were momentarily stunned, their eyes darting between Thelma and Samantha, then quickly shifting to Leon, who was lying on the hospital bed.

It was Tyler who broke the silence first, sweetly and crisply calling out to Leon, “Uncle!”

Thelma: “……”

Samantha: “……”

The room full of men:

One of the young men with a square face was the first to react, immediately teasing, “him when did you get such a big nephew? How come we didn’t know?”

Samantha felt a bit embarrassed and quickly explained, “Children speak without thinking; don’t take it too seriously.”
