Against the Alpha’s Claim – Chapter 219

Information

Beyond mere camaraderie, he observed the way she gazed at him on several occasions, her green eyes brimming with desire, not just influenced by her instinctual drive to mate; he had never refused her anything.

He smiled to himself, reminiscent of the past when she returned home from university for semester breaks or weekends. They would only recline in bed and converse. She had never prevented him from caressing her, running his hand through her hair, and appeared at ease in his company, reclining next him on their bed. She had never expressed annoyance at him or excluded him.

They engaged in informal discourse over minor matters, modifications he implemented inside the pack, and her activities beyond work, although he endeavoured to exclude discussions about the children. He discovered it to be rather challenging, as when she was not at work, she was with them. He endeavoured to focus only on her, although as a single mother of three, her existence predominantly centred on her children while she was not employed.

He let her to include them into the discussions; it was preferable for her to mention them rather than him. He did not wish for her to persist in believing that he desired just them and not her.

Although he no longer believed it to be true, Bella had informed him extensively about them, their preferences, and had expressed her genuine happiness at witnessing them riding on Maddis and her father and brothers’ wolves. She was pleased that they were acclimating to life here.

He remarked that he believed Karis had desired to see Tyler, as evidenced by his reaction to her; he surmised that Karis had likely always wished to embrace her. He appreciated how Karis had embraced Tyler and regretted not capturing any photographs or videos of the moment. Informed her that it was the most delightful sight he had ever encountered. She grinned directly at him.

Luke observed the time; it was about noon, and she had been with Alpha Philip for over an hour. He tugged on his tether to her and realised she was situated on the opposite side of the pack, nearly as far from him as possible.

Precisely what Philip desired, as he had communicated to her. They would not return in the near future, yet they were in motion, appearing to continue walking. He was unable to establish a mental contact with her; no one could, as it would be highly inappropriate to disrupt council proceedings.

He was informed that the duration was indeterminate; there was no fixed timeframe. He may pose whatever enquiries he deemed necessary, and they would proceed for as long as he considered appropriate. He observed the trio depart from him and the pack-house before proceeding to his office; the youngsters were with Bradley and Victoria and would be enjoying lunch with them as well. During Bella’s oestrus period, their time was divided between his parents and Bella’s family, however they resided in his parents’ apartment within the packhouse.

He utilised the opportunity while her absence with Alpha Philip to address pack-related affairs. He glanced up from the emails requiring his attention from the last five days as his office door opened. He observed a very anxious Robyn entering his office. This was the first occasion he had encountered him since his mother had assaulted him. He was fully recovered. “What troubles you, Robyn?”“He inquired.”

Dani is quite anxious about the full moon this evening. Shouted at me to leave our room.

“She is probably frightened, Robyn.” This is the outcome resulting from your actions and failure to adhere to appropriate procedure with your human partner.

She desires to visit Bella. I attempted to elucidate that she was in oestrus and could not perceive her at that moment. He shook his head, indicating that she did not fully comprehend the situation.

“Mm,” he had limited options on that matter. The typical duration for this process within the pack is one month, with the marking of a mate occurring the day following the full moon. The human would have consented to the marking after receiving a comprehensive explanation of their partner’s nature and the ensuing events. Subsequently, they would have an entire month to acclimatise to the concept, observe other wolves shift, and receive thorough education, addressing all enquiries rather than merely a few days of information.

The full moon will occur at 1954 tonight, and Dani was aware of it. “What is your strategy for the full moon, and has she encountered your wolf yet?”

I lack a definite plan. Whenever I mentioned it, she dismissed me and curtly stated that she did not wish to discuss the matter.

Luke exhaled, indicating that she need the presence of her sister or mother. Bella had been incapacitated and was unable to communicate anything to her mother. “Is that your wolf?”

Affirmative. She was able to see him. He exhibited exemplary behaviour, adjusted his position for her, although Macky was present, and Robin even reclined to appear less intimidating, allowing her the opportunity to approach him.

Heartbroken and resolute, she retreats to the human world, immersing herself in university life to complete her law degree. Six years pass in self-imposed exile, but the past refuses to stay buried. When an official letter from the Red Moon Pack demands her return, Bella defiantly burns it, vowing never to step foot in Luke’s territory again. But Luke, now the reigning Alpha, is relentless. He will bring her back, no matter the cost. Her wolf yearns for Luke, urging her to reclaim the bond they share, but Bella’s heart is torn. She despises the man who cast her out yet still feels the undeniable pull of their connection. She believes his wolf drives him to claim her, while the man himself sees her merely as the mother of his children, a convenient solution to his legacy. But is that the truth? Or does Luke harbor a deeper love for her that he has yet to admit—even to himself? In the battle between pride and fate, will Bella surrender to the mate bond or stand firm in her resolve to remain free? Only time will reveal whether their fractured past can heal, or if the scars will prove too deep to overcome.
