Against the Alpha’s Claim – Chapter 211

Perceiving it

“Alternatively, you could undertake it independently.” Occasionally, it is beneficial to engage in self-directed activities rather than relying entirely on others.

I undertake many tasks myself, Bella; nonetheless, I believe that professional movers would execute the packing of your flat more effectively and efficiently.

“I will need to settle the lease while I am present.”

“I will resolve that for you.”

“Indeed, real estate transactions can be quite cumbersome at times.”

“Gender: male or female?””

Bella almost glowered at him. “As your Mate, I disapprove of your use of the Alpha card on human women henceforth.” She gestured towards him and his face. Therefore, kindly refrain from proceeding with it. All of that is now my own.

He smiled directly at her and said, “It does. Forever, and to do with as you wish.” “Daily.” His smile transformed into a sneer.

She shook her head yet grinned, “You and I will train tomorrow morning, so sleep is all you shall have.” He heard him giggle then.

“Provided you are able to rise.” My Bella dislikes

No longer early mornings.

“I acknowledge that it will require some acclimatisation, and I have not engaged in adequate training for an extended period.” Merely biweekly in the corporate gym.

“I am confident you will learn it swiftly.”

“I desire to be well-rested.” She fixed her gaze onto him.

He continued to smile at her. “Hmm, I’ll try my best to keep my paws off you, but I can’t promise you anything.” Saw his gaze travel over her “Not when you told me earlier, we’d pick up where we left off.”

The dinner in the private dining area was successful. Bella’s entire family was present. Brad arrived with his companion Victoria, who was finally introduced to her new sister, the Luna of the Pack. He observed Victoria embrace Bella openly, like if they were long-lost friends. As he entered, Bradley welcomed him with a simple, “Alpha.” Nonetheless, it was an initial step.

Alpha Philip and his Gamma Clark were there for the supper, which did not particularly astonish him when the two men accompanied Clara into the dining room. He was present to see Bella’s interactions with him and would now witness her inside her familial context. His Gamma would assess her during the dinner and thereafter compare it to her stroll with Philip afterward.

Luke observed himself while others engaged in conversation. He grinned when she laughed at anything amusing, however he saw that it was consistently in response to anecdotes recounted by her father and brother, which they deemed humorous or humiliating for one another. It seems like they were attempting to mock one another during the entire duration.

They may not have engaged with him throughout the preceding six and a half years inside this pack. However, it seemed that they continued to pursue their lives and enjoyed familial moments of joy. Her brother and father collaborated practically every day of the week, demonstrating a strong relationship. As she had already been to each of them.

He seated himself next her, content to see their conversation and reconnection. He had occasional questions aimed at him, to which he responded. However, he predominantly refrained from participating in their exchanges. Luke sought to prevent them from feeling uneasy in his presence, aware that they typically did. He was only attempting to coexist with them for the first time in an extended period. Furthermore, he want for them to recognise that he would not intrude upon their supper.

He rested his arm over the back of her chair when they were not dining. She appeared unbothered by his fingertips periodically gliding across her back or arm, and she even smiled at him many times. He reciprocated her smile, finding it very gratifying to witness her smile directed at him, particularly when it illuminated her eyes.

She was now elated, and he was aware of it. He was also capable of perceiving it.

Tyler maintained an open connection to Maddis, since her wolf appeared to signal when Bella had joy. This suggests that he and Maddis were excluded during her moments of discontent. Tyler wished for him not to experience Bella’s emotions at certain moments. He surmised that her act of biting him was a reaction to Bella’s emotions.

Victoria volunteered to prepare the following supper, asserting her capability to excel in any culinary endeavour. Brad, along with Jodi and Vera, endorsed her. Bella smiled and informed her that it would be pleasant; it appeared that the family supper will occur once more. He genuinely appreciated it when Bella expressed intentions of being present in the future.

He accompanied Bella and the children to bid farewell to her family. It was snowing once more, although a light flurry, as he observed them embrace her individually. He received a handshake from Jodi, while Vera lightly caressed his arm and expressed gratitude for the use of the private dining area. Luke grinned at her, “Whenever you wish, Vera,” he said.

Bella, once the cherished lover of future Alpha Luke of the Red Moon Pack, finds her world shattered when she is banished from her pack. Her crime? Striking Luke’s newly discovered fated mate with claws unsheathed—a reflex her wolf, Tyler, cryptically defends with the words, “To protect the pup.” Stripped of her place in the pack and warned never to return, Bella complies, narrowly avoiding the rogue label since Luke has not yet ascended to full Alpha status. Heartbroken and resolute, she retreats to the human world, immersing herself in university life to complete her law degree. Bella carves out a new existence as a successful divorce attorney, far from the pack that cast her aside, the future Luna who despises her, and the secret she guards fiercely—her children, the legacy of a love she can never reclaim. Six years pass in self-imposed exile, but the past refuses to stay buried. When an official letter from the Red Moon Pack demands her return, Bella defiantly burns it, vowing never to step foot in Luke’s territory again. But Luke, now the reigning Alpha, is relentless. He will bring her back, no matter the cost. Bound by the constraints of human law and society, Luke cannot simply take her by force—her prominence in the human world complicates any attempt to make her disappear. Yet, he is determined to claim what he believes is his by right. As their paths cross again, Bella is thrust into a storm of conflicting emotions. Her wolf yearns for Luke, urging her to reclaim the bond they share, but Bella’s heart is torn. She despises the man who cast her out yet still feels the undeniable pull of their connection. To her, Luke’s motives are clear: he wants his heirs by his side, not her. She believes his wolf drives him to claim her, while the man himself sees her merely as the mother of his children, a convenient solution to his legacy. But is that the truth? Or does Luke harbor a deeper love for her that he has yet to admit—even to himself? In the battle between pride and fate, will Bella surrender to the mate bond or stand firm in her resolve to remain free? Only time will reveal whether their fractured past can heal, or if the scars will prove too deep to overcome.
