Against the Alpha’s Claim – Chapter 199

Inform

Rose as Maddis growled inside his consciousness and established a direct connection with her.

“Bella, what is the matter?”’

Robyn partially marked Dani. She retaliated with a growl, severing the connection. Both she and Tyler appeared to be enraged.

“Pardon me, I must proceed to eliminate my brother.” He addressed the group, “Benzy, Lanky, pursue Robyn immediately; he has partially marked Dani.”

He heard the snarls of both wolves, and then they vanished.

“What is occurring within this pack, Alpha Luke?””

My brother has a human companion here, having arrived only a few days ago. This morning, he informed me, as well as mother and father, that he has not marked her, however it appears he has now attempted to do so.

“That could be fatal for her.” The full moon is imminent, occurring in six days.

“I am cognisant of it.” My Luna is currently pursuing him, I presume. It is her biological sister.

He grasped the link that connected him to his brother, certain that everyone pursuing him at that moment would do the same. The guy and his wolf had no means of escape. There was only one circumstance more detrimental than marking a human in proximity to the full moon, and that was partially marking them. No wolf was bestowed, although the human form yearned to transform on the full moon yet was unable to do so. She was presumably facing imminent death and experiencing considerable suffering.

Without comprehension of her circumstances.

The boy’s tether was located upstairs. It is hardly unexpected that he would seek assistance from his mother, aware that both Bella and Maddis would pursue him. At this moment, there was maybe one location within the pack that was more undesirable for him than his brother’s office. The fool rushed towards his mother for refuge, unaware that he was unlikely to endure her wrath in response.

His gaze shifted to the stairs upon observing Bella in motion.

“Vera?””

I possess the children. Please prevent her from exploding.

“Agreed.” Luke nodded and ascended the stairs behind her. She was exceedingly swift, and Tyler exerted all his might, saw her collide with his parents’ apartment a full three seconds prior to his arrival.

He discovered his mother assaulting Robyn on the floor and observed his father’s gaze shift towards him as he traversed the room to where Bella was positioned, with Benzy restraining her, rendering her motionless and disengaged. Although it was unnecessary for her to intervene, his mother was incensed. It seems like Robyn had informed her about his actions.

“Cease, mother, if you intend to kill him.” Dani is likely to perish,” he cautioned.

“I will strike him to the brink of death,” she growled. “Then I shall cease.”

“Cease immediately.” Dani is our first worry; he must finish the procedure before you can physically confront him, and I will not intercede.” He then turned to Bella, enquiring, “Where is Dani?” He was aware that Macky had been with her, and now he was absent. Presumably remained with Dani at Bella’s directive.

“Transporting Dani to the pack hospital for blood tests to assess the severity of the condition.”

“An excellent notion,” he affirmed.

“If she perishes.” Bella gazed directly at him, and he comprehended her implication, even without her completing her statement.

He only nodded; this was a crime, and the repercussions would be detrimental for his brother. “We shall concede to their demands,” Maddis said with disdain.

“Regrettably, I concur,” Luke groaned, although he would attempt to address it initially. He had contemplated murdering his sibling less than a week prior. His mother sought to murder him, as did Luna herself.

Gazed back at his mother, who was attacking her own kid with ferocity.

“Mother, do not harm him,” he murmured, glancing at his father. “Intervene.” He articulated, although it was certain his father concurred with the retribution, which explained his inaction so far.

“Bella.” He gently caressed her arm. “We must go speak with Dani immediately.”

He observed her nod, indicating that there was no further delay. He glanced at his father, who had yet to intervene and halt his companion. “You have your mother, correct?””

I observed him nodding and stating, “She will not kill him, and you have endured all your assaults from her, correct?”

Luke agreed, but he had never undertaken one like Robyn was currently performing. Inserted his hand inside Bella’s.

“Tyler is now awake, I observe.”

“Indeed,” she affirmed with a nod, “and quite discontented.” She conveyed this to him as they departed towards the pack hospital.

“I apologise, Bella; he informed me that he had not marked her, and this was stated in the presence of Benzy and both of my parents.” He exhaled deeply.

“He deceived you all.” How could he possibly believe that no one would observe it?“I perceived the anger in her words or that she would refrain from informing me?”

Bella, once the cherished lover of future Alpha Luke of the Red Moon Pack, finds her world shattered when she is banished from her pack. Her crime? Striking Luke’s newly discovered fated mate with claws unsheathed—a reflex her wolf, Tyler, cryptically defends with the words, “To protect the pup.” Stripped of her place in the pack and warned never to return, Bella complies, narrowly avoiding the rogue label since Luke has not yet ascended to full Alpha status. Heartbroken and resolute, she retreats to the human world, immersing herself in university life to complete her law degree. Bella carves out a new existence as a successful divorce attorney, far from the pack that cast her aside, the future Luna who despises her, and the secret she guards fiercely—her children, the legacy of a love she can never reclaim. Six years pass in self-imposed exile, but the past refuses to stay buried. When an official letter from the Red Moon Pack demands her return, Bella defiantly burns it, vowing never to step foot in Luke’s territory again. But Luke, now the reigning Alpha, is relentless. He will bring her back, no matter the cost. Bound by the constraints of human law and society, Luke cannot simply take her by force—her prominence in the human world complicates any attempt to make her disappear. Yet, he is determined to claim what he believes is his by right. As their paths cross again, Bella is thrust into a storm of conflicting emotions. Her wolf yearns for Luke, urging her to reclaim the bond they share, but Bella’s heart is torn. She despises the man who cast her out yet still feels the undeniable pull of their connection. To her, Luke’s motives are clear: he wants his heirs by his side, not her. She believes his wolf drives him to claim her, while the man himself sees her merely as the mother of his children, a convenient solution to his legacy. But is that the truth? Or does Luke harbor a deeper love for her that he has yet to admit—even to himself? In the battle between pride and fate, will Bella surrender to the mate bond or stand firm in her resolve to remain free? Only time will reveal whether their fractured past can heal, or if the scars will prove too deep to overcome.
